hand gun on natchez trace with permit?
Reservoir Dog replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You are getting hung up on semantics. Whether they are called a park, preserve, historic site, battlefield, parkway, recreation area, etc......they are all national parks, and part of the National Park System. -

Natchez Trace Parkway and the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail are different national parks. Both are administered by the Natchez Trace Parkway. http://www.nps.gov/natr/ http://www.nps.gov/natt/ They are National Parks. It does not need to have "national park" in the name. -

Actually, that is not true. National parks operate under three different types of jurisdiction: exclusive, concurrent, and proprietary. Only under exclusive jurisdiction do state laws have no authority in national parks (Note: there is a sort of a subset of exclusive called "partial." This allows some state rights, but is pretty much like exclusive). Under concurrent and proprietary jurisdictions, state officers can enforce state laws on federal property to varying degrees. Under proprietary, the state actually has more enforcement authority than the feds. The law under which the national park was formed will determine the level of jurisdiction. Here is a breakdown of the jurisdictions: -
I certainly hope so.

Unfortunately, I think it is going to more like 2,934 days.

Will we copy England one day?
Reservoir Dog replied to The Average Joe's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Agreed. The circumstances of this story are unfortunate, but it is certainly not a story I would be using to triumph gun rights. I do not see the US going down this path. Our culture regarding firearms is much different, and countries like Great Britain and Australia have nothing like the 2nd Amendment. -

Ooops. I missed that on the first page of the link. I went straight to the wording of the new regulation. -

Under the new regulations, as long as you have a TN HCP, you are good to go. However, I have not seen anything that confirms the date of January 9, 2009. New regulation in 36 CFR 2.4: -

NPS Rangers patrol and enforce federal laws and regulations on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Under the old regulations, I imagine he was charged with a violation of 36 CFR 2.4, which prohibited the carrying or possession of firearms in national park property. There were certain exceptions for authorized hunting, fishing, and target practice at a range. You could have possessed an unloaded firearm in a motor vehicle, as long as it was unloaded and cased. -

If you could not carry before, you probably still cannot carry now. Remember, these regulation changes are from the Dept of the Interior. LBL is Forest Service land, therefore under the Dept of Agriculture. I am not familiar with their regulations regarding firearms. -

Your Submariner needs to be serviced. My GMT Master used to run fast (about 4 min. per month). I took it in for service, told them how fast it was running, and they fixed it. Now the thing is like wearing an atomic clock on my wrist. Keeps great time. [/:)]

That is my understanding, as well. I thought the new federal regs only permitted carry in federal parks located in states where state laws also permitted carry in parks. I have not seen the final decision, so that may have changed. -

Natchez Trace Parkway is a national park. Natchez Trace State Park is, well.......a state park. Two completely different parks. ETA: Sorry if I misunderstood your posts. I thought you were getting the two confused. After rereading, it looks like you differentiated between the two. -

Same here. Been slow today, and little last night. -
ATF suggests that you have a copy of you NFA paperwork with the weapon. I always carry a copy with mine, no matter where I go with it. From the ATF website: http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm#m25

I just looked through my ATF book on CT state firearms laws and regs, and they are confusing as hell. It does read that anyone who receives a handgun must have a permit. There are exceptions for FFL dealers and manufacturers, but I don't see one for 03 C&R collectors. I could be missing it, though. Here is what you need to look at: CT General Statutes: Title 29, Chapter 529, Section 29-33 Based on what I have read, I probably would ship it to an 01 FFL in his state for transfer. Just to be on the safe side.

Galco makes a couple of ankle holsters for the LCP. I have never used them, so I can't comment on fit and comfort. You might give them a look.

I agree with the others. Do not carry it cocked, it is not designed to be carried that way. The 92FS is a great gun, but I find it a bit big for a carry gun. Happy shooting!

It probably does have something to do with Sunday as the sabbath, even though he didn't say so. Some people look at it as a day of rest. When I was in high school, I was going to wash my car in the yard on a Sunday. My mom wouldn't let me. Why? Because it was Sunday.

Hell, that's easy. The VP-elect would be sworn in as President, if the President-elect is determined not qualified for the job prior to the inauguration. See Section 3 of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution: http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.amendmentxx.html If he has already been sworn in, and determined to be ineligible, then it gets a little murky. Probably some sort of removal proceedings, then the VP would assume the office of President. See the 25th Amendment to the Constitution: http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.amendmentxxv.html . Of course, this is all a moot point as Obama was born in Hawaii, thus making him a natural-born US citizen. And I still have not seen a shred of evidence to prove otherwise.
-
Okay. Let's see the evidence that he is not a US citizen. I have yet to see any. Please post some.
-
Really? From your previous posts: It sure seems to me you are alluding that the state of Hawaii could be in "cahoots" with Obama to hide information. Thanks, I take that as a compliment.
-
It might be posted on Obama's website, but unlike most in this thread, I get my info straight from the source. The Hawaii Dept of Health has reviewed Obama's original BC, and verified that they have the original in their files. Here is the link to the Hawaii DoH site and a Hawaii TV station that covered the release of the statement: http://healthuser.hawaii.gov/health/about/pr/2008/08-93.pdf http://www.kitv.com/politics/17860890/detail.html?rss=hon&psp=news Of course, these will mean nothing to you, as they are part of the vast conspiracy.
