  1. I think he is applying for a C&R license. If so, I got mine exactly 3 weeks to the day I mailed off the application.
  2. Sorry to hear this. Prayers sent.
  3. Make sure the cat is out of the safe, as well. I had a similar experience myself. I shut a car door on the tip of my middle finger. I was in agony the next day due to the blood built up under the fingernail. Having the doc poke through the nail with the hot poker was instant relief. They said my fingernail would fall off, but it never did.
  4. i mainly carry a SIG or Glock, but I occasionally carry my Ruger SP101.
  5. You keep your C&R collection. The license is only used to facilitate the acquisition of firearms for your collection.
  6. http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/ http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=7&f=118 You can also check with some of the TGO vendors, maybe they have one, or can get you one.
  7. That explains a lot. He is probably a member of AHSA. AHSA is nothing more than an extension of the Brady Campaign. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Hunters_and_Shooters_Association
  8. They are an anti-gun organization masquerading as sportsmen and shooters.
  9. Each state is different regarding the requirements to do a trust. Tennessee seems to be pretty easy. I have no idea about Virginia. You should compare each states requirements to see which one fits the bill. Even with a trust, you will need an approved ATF Form 5320.20 before NFA items can be transported across state lines.
  10. No. That only affected pending rule changes. NP carry was already in effect, and was not pending. If the Obama administration wants to change it back, they will have to go through the whole rule change process.
  11. The new regulation went into effect on January 9th.
  12. Bar-Sto makes a .40 barrel for the Glock 31.
  13. Welcome!
  14. Sabre Defence and LMT. What is S&W doing differently than everybody else? ETA: My response you quoted was in response to Todd@CIS regarding the failure to lock back the BCG. I thought your subsequent post was referring to the same thing. I now see you are still talking about the problem in your original post. That is a known issue with early S&W receivers.
  15. Back when I was in Memphis, I went to G&A all the time. Most of the time just to look and fondle, but I have bought several guns from them. I have never had a bad experience with them, but I have seen them be somewhat rude to some people. They have always been courteous to me. Granted, I have not been there in about 1 1/2 years. I have not been to a gun dealer in west and middle TN that matches the selection of guns that G&A has. If I am in Memphis, I always make it a point to go there and look around.
  16. Interesting. I have several PMags, and they all function perfectly in my both of my ARs. No problems in locking back the BCG.
  17. Welcome!
  18. I have noticed a bit of a slowdown these past few days, as well. A few times I even got the "network timeout" page on my browser. Other websites have been loading fairly quickly. Don't really know if it is a TGO server or an ISP issue. I am using AT&T DSL.
  19. These guys have a pretty good write-up on NFA trusts: http://www.86th.org/?id=nfa-trust
  20. You are correct. The OP and his brother could form a NFA trust, and list each other as the grantors. This would allow both of them to possess and use the NFA items.
  21. NFA items are required to be stored in places that only the registered owner has access. Your safe would not meet that requirement, as you also have access to it. I would suggest that your brother buy an inexpensive gun safe, leave it at your house, store the NFA item in his safe, and he keeps the key/combo. From the ATF website: http://www.atf.gov/pub/nfab/index.htm Also, remember that your brother would have to get an approved ATF Form 5320.20 prior to transporting the SBR across state lines to your house.
  22. Well said. Yeah, I caught that, as well. Apparently, he has used that line in many of his speeches. However, even on the day of the first black President being sworn in, Rev. Lowery could have been a bit more uniting. Hopefully, he doesn't hang out with Rev. Wright. :-\
  23. I have a castle nut wrench you can use. I am in south Nashville. PM me if you still need it.
  24. Yeah, Blackthorne used to be Hesse. Maybe they keep changing their name in an attempt to hide their reputation for making bad products. I would avoid them. Here is a thread from AR15.com that gives you some insight of other opinions of Blackthorne: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=402091
