CMMG...Why, oh, why did I listen to Outpost Armory?
Reservoir Dog replied to E4 No More's topic in Long Guns
CMMG makes a good product. I have never heard an unusually high number of complaints about them. I wonder if the firing pin is out of spec? -

Willis68, I do love these ProTech knives, however I noticed something on the instructions that concerns me. ProTech says that any automatic knife being returned for service must include a copy of law enforcement or military ID. I know other knife companies have the same policy, but since ProTech is selling these directly to us, I was assuming that they would service them if we have any problems. So, not that I am not anticipating any problems with the knife, but I would like to know if us non-Military/LEO are going to get shafted on service if we need it. Do you know their policy?

Did Everything Weapons in Franklin sell me a used gun as new?
Reservoir Dog replied to wtl's topic in General Chat
That only applies if it is a home solicitation sale, where the seller contacts you first. If you walk into someone's store and make a purchase, the "cooling off" period does not apply. -
Full Auto AR experience question
Reservoir Dog replied to Ugly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Full auto is fun! Everyone should try it at least once. Bring lots of ammo! I have shot some full auto stuff: Uzi, Colt SMG, M4, P90, SCAR, MP5, Glock 18. I have to say that the P90 and Glock 18 are about the most fun things out there to shoot. They were a blast! -
I have shot a bunch of the .223 from HSM and it has all be pretty decent. No problems. FWIW, I have opened a box of new Remingtion ammo that looked just as bad.

Who's broke an AR15 firing pin?
Reservoir Dog replied to 173rdABN's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Never broken one myself, but I was in a rifle class when another student broke his firing pin. I thought is was funny that, out of all the shooters in the class, I was the only one with a spare firing pin. Always carry spare parts with you! -
Official TGO Pro Tech Godfather Buy in thread SOLD OUT
Reservoir Dog replied to willis68's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear

Depends on how the class costs. Looking over the course description for the class, it looks like only a 4-5 hour class, and you are told to bring about 200rds of ammo. Two places that are offering it (not local) were charging $200 and $250 for the class. Honestly, the NRA course does not look all that impressive, and seems expensive for what you get. Still, it is better than no training at all. So, go for it if it is convenient and in your budget. IMHO, one of the 2-day classes from Suarez or Tactical Response would be a better option,

Lumber_Jack's moving to Nashville (need a job too)
Reservoir Dog replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in General Chat
Welcome to the neighborhood! I live 2 minutes up the road from Lenox. Others have mentioned Burger Republic and Sushi O Sushi, and they are my favorite restaurants in that area. -
I'm in!

It is a bit confusing. I live in that area, and I like it. You should be able to find some townhouse rentals in Shadow Glen or Lenox Village.

HOA says not guns allowed in Nashbor Viliage??????
Reservoir Dog replied to Randy W's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Your point is kind of ridiculous. HOAs have no authority as to what goes on inside your home. They can regulate the common areas of a development, as well as the exterior of properties (for the purpose of keeping things looking nice), but they have no say whatsoever as to what someone does inside their home. That still does not change the fact that this is not a even constitutional issue. HOAs are private entities, and as such, cannot violate your constitutional rights. Once again, the constitution is limitation on government action, not private individuals. -

I think I have a YHM wrench around here. If you still need it, shoot me a PM with your address and I will send it to you. Just return it when you are done. -

Reservoir Dog replied to Randy W's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
There is no constitutional violation in this case. We are talking about rules set by private property owners, not the government. -
HOA says not guns allowed in Nashbor Viliage??????
Reservoir Dog replied to Randy W's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think this article is old, but I will chime in anyway. I live in an HOA neighborhood, and I serve on my HOA board. While the HOA can regulate things in the common areas/exteriors of the property, they cannot tell people what to do inside their own homes. So, a rule banning firearms on the property would only apply to the common areas, not the inside their homes. I laughed out loud when the woman said she wanted to give the HOA a "history lesson" on the constitution. Someone needs to give her one, as the constitution/bill of rights is a restriction on government, not on a private entity. -
Actually, TN does have a state income tax. Wages/salary are not taxable under our income tax, but if you have investment income (like stock dividends, etc...), you are taxed on that part of your income.

Meh. Apple seeds contain a cyanide compound that can cause problems. Granted you would have to eat a lot of apple seeds to be in any danger, but why risk it. I eat the whole apple all the time, core included, by slicing the apple, but I pick out the seeds.
