  1. TCA 39-17-1305 is pretty clear. It only applies to places where alcohol is "served for on premises consumption." If your friend can't understand that, then............
  2. Hmmmmm......I may look into this for my M&P 45. It is a good shooter, but I do not like the trigger. It feels a little rough, and has absolutely no trigger reset. Off to research these mods.........
  3. That's better than remembering Steve Allen as the host. I have been watching it with Carson and Leno as the hosts. I'm sad to see Leno go, but I look forward to his new prime-time show in the fall. It will be interesting to see how Conan changes around the show to fit his comedy style.
  4. Not this poll, again! Dear God, make it stop. :-\
  5. Possessing/purchasing firearms by a non-US citizen depends on what your immigration status is while you are here in the US. Are you coming here to live permanently, or are you just here temporarily for school? Will you be coming to the US on a student visa? Someone who is a legal permanent resident (immigrant) is permitted to possess and purchase firearms in the US. You can even obtain a Tennessee handgun carry permit once you turn 21 years old. Canynracer posted the requirements above. However, if you are in the US as a non-immigrant (visitor/student), then the requirements are much more restrictive. So, what kind of immigration documents will you have? ETA: Here are the requirements for non-immigrant aliens: http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm#r1
  6. Not true, especially in the National Park System. National Parks are formed under one of three types of jurisdiction: exclusive, concurrent, or proprietary. Only under exclusive jurisdiction does the state have no authority to enforce state laws. Under concurrent and proprietary jurisdictions, state/local LE can enforce state laws within National Parks. So, it all depends on what type of jurisdiction the park was formed under. I think (though I am not sure) that Great Smokey is exclusive jurisdiction, so state laws have no bearing. However, that is not the case with all National Parks.
  7. 100% wrong. I have heard people say this before. I have no idea where they get their info, but it's wrong.
  8. Then the post doesn't make sense. A dealer is already subject to periodic ATF inspections, regardless if he has Class 3 stuff, or not.
  9. I'm not a dealer, if that is what you are asking. But a lot of people mistakenly think you need a "class 3 license" to own NFA items as an individual. His question seemed to be asking about individual ownership, not as a dealer. If you are a dealer with a Class 3 SOT, then you already have at least a 01 FFL, and are therefore open for ATF inspections whether you have a SOT or not. If that is the case, then his question doesn't make any sense.
  10. Doesn't bother me a bit. I have owned NFA weapons since 1995, and I have never heard a peep from the ATF. Unless there is some kind of problem with your application/transfer, you will never hear from the ATF. Too many people believe that because you own NFA items, the ATF can show up and search you house for the weapon. Simply not true.
  11. Oh, my! Kudos to the cameraman for the great camera angles.
  12. The easiest way is to remove you current front sight base, and install a low profile gas block. Then you can install the middy rail over the new gas block. You can then put a front sight (like a flip-up BUIS) on the rail. That way you can use the current rail you have, and you don't have to bother with having new gas ports drilled into the barrel.
  13. Actually, you would get a whole new gun. I would buy it, and then send it to Highpoint for repair. Highpoint has an excellent warranty. I would have no problem buying that for $45.
  14. Thanks. I love my Omega watches. I like Tags, as well, particularly the Carrera models.
  15. I love nice watches, although I don't collect them like I do guns. Mine: Omega Seamaster Omega Speedmaster Rolex GMT Master II I want a Breitling. Maybe someday I will get one.
  16. Scottryan is also a member on AR15.com. He is a 1st class a$$hole on that site, as well. He likes nothing more than to insult people, and is always into arguments.
  17. Don't let it get to you. Denials happen all the time. You can't control it if some scumbag uses a name similar to yours. Let the appeals process play out. Most denials are reversed on appeal. You will get your gun.
  18. Glock mags are notoriously a PITA to disassemble. You need a Glock disassembly tool or some kind of punch to push in the mag retaining plate a good ways, then push in on the sides to release those stops, and then pull on the punch to slide the baseplate off. It gets easier with a little practice, but it still is a PITA. You could try one of these GTUL kits. Looks pretty cool. Thinking about ordering one myself. ==> GTUL ETA: I just noticed that GTUL does not have one for the larger Glock 20/21 mags yet. Oh, well. That won't help you much. Still an interesting product.
  19. Specific address. The address you put on the form would be the address of wherever you are staying while you are there (or where the NFA item will be stored), be it a friend/relative's house, hotel, etc... Yes, you can travel to multiple sites (like the firing range) while you are there.
