  1. I don't deny that our laws are based on Judeo-Christian values. However the job of a SCOTUS judge, or any judge, is not to make the laws, but to interpret and follow them. As long as they leave their personal religious views out of their decisions, and they follow the law and the Constitution, I don't care about their religious affiliation.
  2. Actually it doesn't. Nowhere in the US Constitution does the words "so help me, God" appear in the oaths that federal officials are required to take. It has become customary (for some reason), but it is not required.
  3. You can shoot someone's class III. No problem there. The registered party just has to be present with the NFA item.
  4. I don't care what their religion is (Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, etc...). It should not matter. If they did a proper job of interpreting and following the law, then a Atheist is just fine with me.
  5. Cool pic. Dubai is a great city. It has changed a lot since I was there in 2001.
  6. Congratulations!
  7. I get junk mail from the NRA every once in a while. It's not often enough to bother me. They have never called me.
  8. That's odd. I had a 1998 4Runner and it was rock solid reliable. Had it for 8 years and it never spent a day in the shop (outside of routine maintenance). I miss that thing. Never should have traded it. I guess you got a bad one. Even Toyota turns out lemons now and then.
  9. I'm betting it was a 2003/2004 4Runner. They had some problems. Particularly the V6 models.
  10. Now it has it's own Facebook page! Facebook - Nashville WeatherP***s
  11. I use Gmail by Google. I really like it. Switched to it from AOL.
  12. Yep. I got mine exactly 3 weeks to the day that I mailed it off to ATF. They move pretty quick on the C&R. Too bad NFA doesn't move that fast.
  13. OS beat me to the 21ft rule. Definitely make a bet with him. Free money!!!
  14. As previously posted, there is no legal definition regarding the distance. Based on numerous tests conducted by LE agencies, I would consider any knife-wielding individual within 21ft. of me to be an imminent threat. These tests have shown that a bad guy (with a knife) within that distance can charge and attack someone before they can draw and fire. When it comes to knives, distance is your friend.
  15. All of those, and be sure he removes the license plate from the car.
  16. The NRA is silent on these Firearm Freedom Acts because they know the truth about them..........they really aren't worth the paper they are printed on. The NRA would rather spend their time and money on something they can actually win, and I don't blame them one bit.
  17. Correct. I don't have any proof that he was not a police officer, but then again I am not claiming that he was not an officer. By his thread title, the OP claims that this guy was a member of the Nashville or Franklin Police Department. I saw no proof of that (or any other police department) in his post. I was curious as what proof he had of his claim. My question was answered.
  18. That would be a much more accurate title for this story, rather than "Disappointed in Metro/Franklin's Finest," since that is really the only proof we have.
  19. Do you have any proof that this person was a police officer? But, somehow, it is okay to post a thread saying it was a police officer with no proof. The OP has answered my question.
  20. So, basically, you don't know if he was a cop or not. He was just someone who flashed a badge. Lot's of people have badges (firemen, security guards, HCP holders, etc...), not just police officers. I'm not saying he was not a police officer, but it just bothers me that people post stories like this, and assume that it was a police officer when, in fact, they have no proof at all. Then in typical TGO fashion, all of the other anti cop/government types on this site start piling on their BS and "respect my authoritah" comments.
  21. Wow....another cop bashing thread on TGO. How surprising. :-\ So, you say he was a police officer. What was written on the badge? What department was he with? Please tell us.
  22. Probably not, but it is annoying and makes post difficult to read. It's also rude. Think of it as "internet yelling."
  23. I remember that. We had that catalog back when I was a kid. I remember my parents getting a big laugh out of the photo.
  24. Personally, I would just use the ATF Form 5320.20. It is actually the form for approval to transport NFA stuff out of state, but many people use it to notify the ATF of in-state address changes as well. In block 2, just check "no," that the firearms will not be returned to the original address. In block 5 for the reason, just put "permanent change of address." You can list up to 3 firearms on one form. Fill out the form in duplicate and submit to ATF. They will return one of them back to you signed. Keep that for your records as proof that you officially changed your address.
  25. Is that course open to civilians?
