  1. No, it's the basic life membership for $300 total. The notices are sent out to current life members to sign up family members for life memberships, but everyone seems to find a few "long lost cousins" to sign up. I haven't received any of those offer letters lately, but if I do, I will post it up for anyone who wants it.
  2. Linky ==> ATF Form 20 - 5320.20 Application to Transport NFA Firearms
  3. Nice! I hope you look at doing some subdued color schemes, as well.
  4. Censure is what I expected. Politicians won't do anything serious to their own kind.
  5. I like the HP movies, and I will probably catch the movie. However, I am not going near the theater for 2 to 3 weeks. I'll be happy to let the craziness die down before I go.
  6. DPMS makes a decent product, so you should be okay on the rifle. However, even in the DPMS section, they still do not list who makes the rail systems that are installed. I would call them up and see if they are DPMS factory installed rails, or if RGuns is installing them. If they come from DPMS already installed, then you should be fine. If not, I would ask who makes them.
  7. Most of the complaints that I have read about them concern problems with their guns, mainly them misrepresenting their products. Also, a lot of complaints about not wanting to refund money to unhappy customers. So, be sure and use a credit card when ordering. That way you have an avenue to dispute the charges if you get a bad product. The thing that concerns me is, looking at their website, they don't tell you who makes the parts for their AR rifles. If you really must order from them, I would call in advance and pin them down on who makes the barrels, lowers, LPKs and rail systems that are installed on the rifles. Make sure they are not putting some airsoft crap, like UTG, on the guns. Caveat emptor.
  8. I have no personal experience with them, but the reviews I have read about them have not been good. Plus, they have an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau. Personally, I would avoid them.
  9. +1 Nobody (not even Cavanaugh) is saying that everyone who has those bumper stickers are violent murderers, but that the stickers, along with other evidence, are signs that an officer could possibly be dealing with a person proclaiming to be part of the "sovereign citizen" movement. LEOs need to be able to recognize these signs, and that's what the video is for...a teaching tool. So-called "sovereign citizens" claim that they do not recognize federal authority, but the fact is, they reject authority in any form.....be it local, state or federal. Most of the officers killed by these types of nutjobs were state and local officers. They are offshoots of the Neo-Nazi, anti-govenment, and redemption movements, and are a very real threat to the lives of LEOs.
  10. Great training video. Hopefully it will save some officer's lives. Kudos to Cavanaugh for helping train officers to identify and deal with these nutjobs.
  11. The LCR does have a very good trigger. It weighs a little less, but is slightly larger, than the 442. Either one would be a good carry weapon, but I find the 442 to be more concealable, so that would be my choice.
  12. There were two Cobbs in the TN legislature. I think K191145 is referring to Ty Cobb (Maury Co. / Columbia area), who did lose the election.
  13. I would send an email to my rep, but since I live in Harwell's district, I don't think it will do much good.
  14. Because a good prosecutor or civil attorney will have every piece of evidence examined. Firearm techs from the police crime labs can tell if a gun has non-factory parts, or if existing parts have been altered. Also, attorneys can (and will) subpoena the firearm manufacturer to examine your firearm and report on any non-factory alterations.
  15. Not in Tennessee, as we do not have firearm registration. Your info and the gun info are on the Form 4473 you fill out, but that stays with the gun dealer. It only gets sent to the ATF if the dealer goes out of business. In the TICS check, the firearm is checked for stolen and you are checked to make sure you can legally own a firearm.
  16. The gun make, model and serial number are included in the TICS check along with your info. They check to make sure the gun is not stolen. The background check records are supposedly deleted after a certain period of time (30 days, I think, but I may be wrong). There is no gun registration in TN.
  17. Slip2000 Carbon Killer is awesome. I highly recommend it. It is a water based cleaner, so be sure and use a moisture displacing lubricant/protectant after cleaning.
  18. Nice build! I just purchased a Daniel Defense middy myself, but have not had a chance to shoot it. Great pics, too (here and on your website).
  19. New site is okay, but I like the current one better. After using it for a bit, I could definitely get used to it. Definitely get more color schemes. That cocoa theme is.....well..........No!
  20. That's probably not going to happen. Different ARs will shoot differently. Subtle differences in each AR (different rail systems, barrels, etc...) will effect the point of impact. Even removing and remounting an optic to the same rifle can effect the POI.
  21. I like to actually taste my beer, so the Bud/Miller/Coors stuff is not an option. Guinness, Sam Adams (particularly Octoberfest), Newcastle Brown, Blue Moon, are some of my favorites.
  22. Mine took about 3 weeks. It's a fairly quick process.
  23. You may have had good luck (luckily!), but I would strongly caution anyone from buying from Blackthorne. They make some of the worst quality AR products out there. I have seen one of their uppers (that would not function) come with the gas tube severely bent. It looked to me that they torqued down the barrel nut after installing the gas tube. Many similar stories out there about their products. They are cheap for a reason. Avoid!! ETA: Dolomite beat me by a nose!
