  1. Muzzle loaders are not typically classified as firearms, unless it is one of those that can be readily converted to fire centerfire cartridge ammunition. As long as your muzzle loader model does not fall under that exception, I don't see how it would be subject to the GCA or NFA. That is my take on it. Maybe someone else can chime in with their view, as well.
  2. Moot point. Obama has produced his BC, as well, issued by the state of Hawaii. Makes no difference if it is a short form or long form, they both mean the same thing. Either way, the state of Hawaii is certifying that he was born there. If we were talking about anybody else, that would be satisfactory. But, for some reason, not for Obama. My statement about innocent until proven guilty was directed at these "birthers" who make the claim that he was born outside the US. They provide no proof whatsoever of their accusations, but demand that Obama provide proof refuting their claim. When he ignores that crap (as I would, too), they accuse him of hiding something. Give me a break! Gladly, that is not how it works in America. You want to accuse someone of something? Fine. Back it up with some facts.
  3. Well, Obama has been in office for over 2 years, and started running for President probably a year before the election. So, the birthers have had over 3 years to come up with evidence for their accusations. So far, nothing. Not one single piece of verifiable, credible evidence. I don't find it odd at all. I would not want my long form BC spread all over the internet for anyone to see, and use for whatever means they want. Would you? Obama has released the short form BC, which carries the same weight of law as the long form. Just like the short form that TN issues carries the same weight as the long form. He has done all he needs to do. He (or anyone else) should not be forced to release more personal info in order to satisfy someone's baseless accusations. I never said this was the only issue. As I stated earlier, I was already on the fence with Trump........meaning I have as many things to dislike, as I do to like. The birther crap was just nail in the coffin. Anybody dumb enough to buy into that, is not someone I would vote for.
  4. FYI: I don't like Obama's politics, didn't vote for him, and want him out as President. He is a US citizen. The State of Hawaii has confirmed he was born there and that they have his BC on file, and there was even a birth notice in the local newspaper days after the birth. There is absolutely no credible evidence to the contrary. Just a bunch of nuts running around making accusations. The last time I checked, someone is innocent until proven guilty. If you have to good, credible, verifiable evidence, please post it for us all to see. I have asked that in other threads about this issue, and so far, nobody has presented anything. Big surprise. If Trump gets the nomination, and wants to go around spewing that crap, without any supporting evidence (which I have yet to see him present), then Obama will be one step closer to being re-elected. We need to focus on the real issues at hand: terrorism, deficits, economy........not made up stuff from ultra right-wing fantasy land. Geez!
  5. I was on the fence about Trump, until he started on that crap about Obama's citizenship. That stuff makes us conservatives look like a bunch of ****ing idiots. We need someone to focus on real issues, not this birther crap. No way in hell I would ever vote for Trump.
  6. You might want to review each state's info here: ==> Handgunlaw.us
  7. Congrats!
  8. Congrats! They are pretty quick. I got mine 3 weeks after I mailed off the application. I just wish the NFA Branch was that quick.
  9. Interesting. Same exact thing as the Akins Accelerator designed for the Ruger 10/22. The ATF approved that one, too. Then turned around and declared it a machinegun. At $369 for a plastic stock, I think I'll pass. At least until the ATF has a little more time to change their mind. Although, it would be nice to have an AR capable of suppressive fire.
  10. Low rings should work fine with that setup. I have low rings on my Tikka T3 .308 with a 40mm objective scope.
  11. Nevermind. I just saw this was for non-Federal offenses.
  12. Hex and round refer to the shape of the receiver. Hex receivers are earlier production rifles. ETA: Ooops, too late!
  13. Also, make sure your Hahn mag block is in good order, and installed correctly.
  14. +1 Promag makes crappy mags. Definitely try a different brand of magazine. Get some Colt mags, if you can find them. If not, try some from Spikes Tactical or C Products. With a factory RRA upper, I doubt headspacing is an issue.
  15. This thread made me go to the Cajun Steamer in Franklin last week, and try the shrimp and grits. I have to say, it was pretty darn good. I will definitely try shrimp and grits when I see it again. As far as the Cajun Steamer itself, the prices on the entrees are high, but you get a large portion. The appetizer I had (calamari) was horribly overpriced for what I got. $8 for a very small amount of fried calamari. Service was spotty, at best. I don't know if I will go back.
  16. Glad to hear this has been straightened out. Hopefully, the DA and the police will be speedy in returning your firearm. Usually, in stories like this, that is the most difficult part. As others have stated, I would go talk to the DA in your area. The police are not likely to return anything to you until the charges have been dismissed.
  17. NCStar is good for airsoft shooters..............and not much else.
  18. My nightstand gun is a FN FiveSeven, with a Surefire X300 mounted on it. Personally, I think it is a great home defense gun. I like it because of it's capacity, low recoil, super fast follow-uo shots, and accuracy. I have 27gr. SS195LF ammo loaded in it, which is the FN recommended ammo for defense purposes. It is designed not to overpenetrate, and since I live in a townhouse community and have a child in the next room, overpenetration is a concern. If it were not for it's size, it would make an excellent carry gun, as it is super light even with a loaded mag. It is a great handgun if you want a high capacity, low recoil pistol where overpenetration is a concern. Is it the best handgun out there? No. There is no such thing. However, I would definitely put it in my personal "top 5" list.
  19. It probably has a New York trigger spring installed. If so, you need to purchase a 5.5lb standard trigger spring. Installation is quite easy, and takes about 2 minutes. Any certified Glock armorer could do it, or there are many videos out there to show you how to do it yourself. All you need is a 3/32" punch.
  20. No way in Hell I would do this to my Glocks!
  21. I don't play online, so I would use this game SP mode. Too, bad. I guess I will wait until the price goes down............a lot.
