  1. Very nice! I have one myself.
  2. NHM = No Heroic Measures
  3. +1 Comparing Kevorkian to Joseph Mengele is just plain ridiculous.
  4. As others have stated, it is possible to do this in any semi-auto that does not have a magazine disconnect safety. However, due to possibly damaging the extractor, I would save this method of loading for emergency circumstances only. It is good to know that you can load it this way, when needed.
  5. Yep. Just place the round in the chamber, and slingshot the slide into battery. Though, that way of loading is not good for the extractor.

    Kel Tec KSG

Personally, I would be surprised if Kel-Tec came anywhere close to that production level. If the RFB and PMR-30 are any indication, I would not count on seeing a KSG for quite some time. Even stuff they have made for a while (like the SUB-2000) are still hard to find.
  7. I subscribe. I know it's a liberal rag, but I'm a news junkie. Plus, it has local stories that the local TV news stations do not carry. And, of course, the Sunday coupons.
  8. As mikegideon stated, the DD Omega 7.0 is expensive for a drop-in, but it is an excellent rail, and will serve you well. In my opinion, it's only weakness is how it mounts to the barrel nut. The only thing holding it in place are the 4 small set screws that you tighten down onto the barrel nut. Not the best mounting method, but it does work. You should not need to change your gas block, unless you just want a different style of block (railed, low profile. etc...).
  9. TGO should really have a children's section. Then the OP would have his own place to hang out.
  10. There are some free-float options, but they are limited. Here are a couple that I can think of right off the bat: Samson Mfg: AR-15, AK-47, Sig 556 Rails and Accessories: Samson STAR-C https://danieldefense.com/rail-systems/omega-rail-7-0-carbine.html They both have their pros and cons: The Daniel Defense rail is easily mounted by snapping it into the delta ring assembly, and tightening the screws down to lock it on the barrel nut. The DD rail is very light. I don't much care for the way it attaches to the barrel nut, but it still provides a sturdy lock-up. The Samson rail actually clamps down onto the barrel nut, and is a much more secure mount. However, it takes much more effort to install. With this rail, you will have to take off the barrel, remove the delta ring assembly, and then reinstall the barrel in order to mount the rail. It sounds worse than it is. I would rather install a rail this way, rather than having to remove the front sight base. The Samson rail is a bit heavier than the DD.
  11. BCM makes top quality stuff. Buy their stuff with confidence. However, if you intend on having the ability to mount a wide variety of rail systems, I would caution you about buying an upper with pinned and welded flash suppressor (like the one you linked). You would be limiting yourself to mainly drop in rail systems, or some by Samson, that can be installed without removing the FSB and flash suppressor. Also, changing gas blocks would not be possible without drilling out the pin and cutting the weld on the flash suppressor to remove it. BCM says it best:
  12. My thoughts exactly.
  13. They do try. Some are more successful than others. Riiiiiight.
  14. Plenty of LEOs on courthouse duty prior to 9/11. Have you seen the type of people that are in court? Personally, I am glad there are LEOs there, and it has nothing to do with terrorists.
  15. Sorry for your loss.
  16. I had never heard of a Pedersen Device before. Had to do my research. Great invention, and a great piece of history! I would be interesting to see one in action. Can you still get ammo for that thing?
  17. Sorry for your loss. The pictures I am seeing from Joplin are horrible.
  18. Hah! I wish that were true. I once had an issued S&W Model 66 .357 in which the spring in the cylinder release broke. This allowed the cylinder release to move slightly forward, locking up the action of the gun. Every time I drew from the holster, I couldn't pull the trigger at all, unless I manually moved the release back into battery. Then I could only get off one or two shots before the problem would occur again. At least with a semi-auto, I can easily clear malfunctions. With a revolver, it is a whole different story. No gun is perfect.................and never say never.
  19. Looks good to me.
  20. Nice AAR! Thanks for the info. I am considering taking Fighting Rifle and Adv Fighting Rifle back to back in August.
  21. Actually, GLOCKGUY is correct. The facility in Smyrna, GA is making complete pistols manufactured on site. However, those pistols are made mainly for export to other countries. You will rarely (if ever) see one of these on the US market. Glocks on the US market are all imports from Austria. Glock does this because some countries will not buy things made in Austria due to their involvement with the Nazis during WWII. Glock gets around this by making complete pistols in the US for export. Notice the "Made in Austria" is missing from the pistol in the picture.
  22. FFLs are very location specific. You are only allowed to conduct business at the premises address on the license. If you move, you must notify the ATF. They will not approve a license unless you are good to go with all state/local laws, codes and zoning.
  23. Actually, they are reported to FINCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network), which is part of the US Treasury Dept.
  24. Very true! The TN Clay Target Complex is nice!
  25. You should be okay at that time of day, you might run into some traffic on I-40 from the early commuters coming in from out west. As you get into Nashville, you might consider taking Hwy 155 (Briley Parkway) and loop around the west and north of downtown Nashville. Definitely use that route if you are running any later.
