Vehicle search consent?
Reservoir Dog replied to BlackHawk93's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
No. Probable cause is not required under Terry. An officer only needs reasonable suspicion. Probable cause is good to have, but it is not needed for a Terry frisk. -
Will you get reported for buying 2 lowers at the same time?
Reservoir Dog replied to a topic in Long Guns
The rule/law (or whatever) was changed recently regarding stripped receivers. They can only be sold to in-state residents. Receivers are classified as "other" on the 4473, as they are neither handguns nor longguns. There is no reporting requirement for multiple stripped receiver purchases. -
We just like seeing a business destroy itself online.

Vehicle search consent?
Reservoir Dog replied to BlackHawk93's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
That would fall under a Terry frisk (Terry v. Ohio; expanded under Michigan v. Long). In addition to the person, the officer may search for weapons within the "lunging area" around the person. -
Man robbed, beaten outside CoolSprings Galleria

That is because this is an old thread. The story is about 6 months old. -

Looks like Infinity Ward was involved in making MW3. That is definitely good news! Their stuff is always the best.

No, you're wrong on that. The HCP fingerprint check searches the federal database, and it is a much more reliable method than the simple name/DOB/SSN check performed through TICS. ETA: OK, glad to see you are now working with the correct information.
-
That is what I thought. A fingerprint search is much more accurate than a name/DOB/SSN search. A bad guy can give a false name/DOB/SSN that just happens to be similar (or same) as the firearms purchaser. That more than likely will trigger a denial. A fingerprint search will find any criminal history that is truly associated with that person, since a bad guy can't give another person's fingerprints. In 99% on the cases, the reason you see a denial on a HCP holder is because TICS/NICS uses the less reliable method of checking a background, so you sometimes get a false positive. That is the reason why they have a HCP, but still get denied (initially) for a firearm purchase: the HCP background is more in-depth and accurate, therefore they see past the info that gives that false positive.
-
You sure about that? According to TDOS, records are checked with TBI, FBI and your county Sheriff. That alone is more than the check to purchase. Also, running your fingerprints should find any criminal record nationwide, if the person was fingerprinted. That is much more than a TICS check. If that is not the case, then the HCP background process makes no sense. Why would TN ignore criminal records from other states, and let someone carry a handgun who could not even legally purchase a firearm?
-
I have these in my house, as well. They are actually quite beneficial to have around, as they feed on other pests (spiders, roaches, bedbugs, etc....), so I usually leave them alone. I just wish they were better looking. These things are hideous, and occasionally scare the hell out of me......particularly when they are scurrying around on the walls. They move like greased lightning.
-
Why? Does your company have a policy against carry?
-
No. The check for the permit is much more in-depth. A TICS/NICS check is nothing more than a computer records check based on the information submitted. A check for the HCP is all that, plus your fingerprints are run to check for any criminal record. A fingerprint search is much more reliable than a simple computer check based on name/DOB/SSN. When someone with a HCP gets denied, more than likely it is a mistake (some bad guy has a similar name, DOB or SSN). These denials are usually overturned rather quickly.

Bumping multiple times in one day would be quite annoying. I have had ads on TGO that took a few weeks to sell, and I have bumped them 5 or 6 times. However, I usually wait about 3 to 4 days between bumps. I see nothing wrong with that.

It moves your ad back to top spot on the first page, so more people will see it.

Need some SBR advice
Reservoir Dog replied to PolePosition's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
No. Making another SBR would require paying another $200. Maybe you could have someone (who specializes in refinishing) fill in the deer head, and then duracoat the lower. As long as you don't mess with the manufacturer info, or serial number, I don't see a problem with that. -
I have a Tikka T3 Lite in .308, and it has been a great rifle. You will be happy with your choice.
-
Yep, they are quite ugly. But for me, it is not so much the looks as it is the price. $370 for a plastic stock is crazy. I think having one would be cool, but I will definitely wait until the price comes down.

What quick do it yourself mods have you done to your Glocks?
Reservoir Dog replied to Links2k's topic in Handguns
On my Glock 19: - XS Big Dot NS - Vickers extended mag release - NY1 trigger spring - 3.5lb connector - Extended slide lock I also replaced the G19 trigger w/trigger bar assembly with one for a G17. I really hate those serrated triggers. -

Anyone else having page loading delays?
Reservoir Dog replied to Raoul's topic in Feedback and Support
Yeah, load times are very slow tonight for me as well. Pages taking about 30-40 seconds to load. Other sites are loading almost instantly.
