  1. See my post above. It's hard to post videos of the good things because the media doesn't care about that, and rarely do stories on it. Also, the average citizen rarely posts videos online about positive interactions with LE. They don't do this because the positive stuff won't create a "stir,' and won't get a lot of view clicks on Youtube. Having seen your posts in the past, you view on LE is quite clear. You don't like LE, and you mostly post about the bad stuff. There are videos out there about the good things, but they are few and far between due to the reasons stated above.
  2. Near daily examples? That is completely laughable. Remember, only the bad stuff gets reported by the media, and posted on the gun boards (sadly, TGO is seeing more and more of this constant cop-bashing). Most people could care less about the good stuff police do everyday. It is a thankless job. Are there bad cops out there? Yes. Just like there bad doctors, bad lawyers, and even bad gun owners. I bet you get upset when the media uses the actions a bad gun owner to portray all guns and gun owners as bad, but you seem to want to do the same thing when it comes to law enforcement. It's called hypocrisy.
  3. The prosecutor is handling this case in a way that leads me to think that the case against Zimmerman is extremely weak. First: She does not take this case to grand jury, but instead charges him via an information. Most prosecutors I know love to get grand jury indictments for their cases, and it is quite easy to get an indictment, as well. This tells me that she thinks a grand jury would not find enough PC for charging Zimmerman. Charging via an information will probably lead to a PC hearing in front of one judge. I guess she hopes to get a sympathetic judge, so she can continue the case. Second: 2nd degree murder is a big time overcharge in this case, and I highly doubt Zimmerman would ever get convicted of that. Manslaughter? Maybe, but the recent evidence coming out is making that look unlikely. She may be hoping to charge high in hopes of getting Zimmerman to plea to a lesser charge. Honestly, this whole case smacks of political correctness. They are doing it to appease the liberal media and the race-baiters (Sharpton/Jackson).
  4. You have to remember that it is a cop-bashers job to only post the negative actions or a few in law enforcement, and to not acknowledge the good deeds that the rest of them do everyday. Whether it is in our area or not, they use whatever they can find in an attempt to make all LE look bad.
  5. The only elected office Paul has held has been from his congressional district in Texas. Paul has never been elected to statewide or national office. He lost his only statewide bid when he didn't even make it past the primary the time he ran for US Senate. This will be his third time running for President, and he is no closer than the other two times. Face it guys, Ron Paul is not electable outside of his district. He never will be. Both Romney and Obama have held statewide office, and, of course, we know who is currently sitting in the big chair. The devotion Paul's supporters have is admirable, but borders on the absurdity. You guys are so blinded by your devotion, that you can't see reality. We all understand you like Paul and want to see him in the oval office. That's fine. I am sure you all voted your heart and your conscience, and pushed the button for Paul in the primary election. Nothing wrong with that. Tennessee has had its say in the primary process, and we picked Santorum (little good that did us). However, Romney has the votes, and is going to win the nomination. What we need to do now is unite behind Romney, and get Obama out of office. Otherwise he will further destroy this country with his big government programs, trillions more in debt, and ultra-liberal SCOTUS picks. The SCOTUS issue is reason enough to vote him out. If Ron Paul runs as an third-party candidate, or his supporters try to pull some stupid stunt (brokered convention, or a write-in candidacy), then you guys a playing right into Obama's wishes, and he will be easily reelected. You may not like the reality......but it's here.
  6. That's just plain dumb. Never shoot to kill, and for God's sake, don't ever say those words to the police, or anybody else.
  7. Yep. There is never a justification for warning shots. EVER! If the situation warrants you discharging a firearm, you better be shooting at the threat. The fact that she did not fire at him shows me that she was not in fear of her life or serious injury. Therefore, she should not have fired. She played a stupid game, and is getting a stupid prize. However, 20 years for this is quite ridiculous.
  8. You would be wrong. However, you are entitled to your opinion, no matter how ignorant it is.
  9. Do you make adjustments to the human spine? Cool screen name. I love that movie! Welcome to TGO!
  10. Who wouldn't complain about a grip safety! I despise any type of manual safety on a carry gun.
  11. Yes, I believe that they do not sell or service their .50 cal rifles to Cali governments. There may be some others, but more firearm manufacturers need to do this.
  12. Buying on letterhead is a double-edged sword. When you buy on departmental letterhead, you specifically state that it is for official duty use. In a commie place like California, it is not surprising to me that they would ask them to be surrendered when you leave the agency. And it really should come as no surprise to anyone. Cali went off the deep end a long time ago. Personally, I would love to see gun manufacturers refuse to sell stuff to Cali governments that ordinary citizens cannot own.
  13. They all say they are out of stock. PMR-30's are difficult to find. Kel-Tec just doesn't have the production capacity get these guns (or any of their guns) out on the market in real numbers. Having shot both of these pistols, I am happy to stick with my my Five Seven. The PMR I shot had jamming issues, although it was an early production model. Maybe they have the kinks worked out since the recall. My Five Seven has been flawless through almost 2K rounds.
  14. What I have read about the Edwards case, the government's case does seem to be quite weak. I do expect an acquittal in the matter. That being said, I have always found Edwards to be an arrogant, egotistical hypocrite, Never liked, never will. It's a long shot, but I really hope the government can prove their case.
  15. Not as bad as the story they had on WSMV last night. The reporter stated that "gunshots rang out" at a school bus. When they went on to tell that it was airsoft guns, I said WTF! Then she went on to say that the bus "was not damaged." It would seem that these reporters are just as ignorant of airsoft guns as they are real firearms.
  16. That is a common misconception with the 5.7 round. It, in fact, does not overpenetrate. Quite the opposite, actually. As stated above, the bullet starts to tumble when it hits something, thereby dumping most of its energy into the target, making overpenetration highly unlikely. I specifically chose the Five Seven as my home defense gun, as I live in a townhouse and don't want any missed rounds going into my neighbor's place.
  17. The story says that he followed the perp out of the store. I would guess that he left the store property when he did that. I agree with the charges in this case. Maybe it will teach him a lesson about shooting at someone over mere property, and firing warning shots. What a dumbass!
  18. TICS goes down way too much. They should figure out a way to allow TN dealers to use NICS when this happens.
  19. Having taken Fighting Rifle and Advanced Fighting Rifle at Tactical Response, I must concur with your AAR. Lots of good training and good instructors I want to take Fighting Pistol next, and hopefully I will take that soon. I know Yeager and Tactical Response get a pounding on the boards now and then, but it really is good training. I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering adding to their toolbox of training.
  20. Yes, send in the form without separating the pages. You will get a receipt, but it is doubtful you will ever need it. I mailed in mine, and got my new permit in about 3 weeks.
  21. After a very bad experience with a Ford back in the mid 1990s, I vowed never to buy another car from an American company. I hated doing that, but if I am going to spend that kind of money, I want something with quality. Since then, I have owned a Toyota and an Acura, and they have both been perfect. Hearing stories like this, I know I made the right decision.
  22. Not true. There are plenty of non-felony stuff that will stand in your way of a HCP. That being said, the OP's situation should not prevent him from getting one.
