That's all fine and dandy, as long as the person on the other end of the transaction is also on board with that. I have seen many sellers tell them to be discrete with the PayPal transaction, only to have the person put "for AK-47" or something similar in the description section.

PayPal is very anti-gun, and I believe using it to purchase firearms is against their TOS. They usually allow you to use them for accessories, but I have seen people get their PayPal accounts (and the money in them) locked for selling firearms. They finally got their money out, but it took a while.

Hmm. I knew they changed the formula, but I thought the newer version still had some exothermic qualities. I'll have to give it another look. Glad you mentioned that. I knew Celox was made from chitosan, but I never dawned on me about using on people with shellfish allergies. It would suck to use it on someone to keep them from bleeding out, only to put them into anaphylaxis.
-
Anybody have any experience using Celox as an alternative to QuikClot? It was recommended to me by an Army medic, as Celox doesn't have the heat/tissue damage issues of QuikClot.

CLEO signature, fingerprints and photos are not required when using a NFA trust.

Millions of People To Be Inconvenienced By Obama Visit To NYC
Reservoir Dog replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
Hmm. I don't see what anyone's race has to do with this. Nobody has brought it up, or accused you of being a racist. However, you know yourself better than anyone, so............ -
Millions of People To Be Inconvenienced By Obama Visit To NYC

I don't get it. You're acting like all the roads and subways in NYC were shut down. If you actually read the article, you will see that only the PATH service to the WTC was to be shut down during his visit. People just took the subway to another PATH station, where the trains were rerouted. Roads along the motorcade route were closed, but that is no different from any other presidential visit to anywhere. Sure, many people were inconvenienced by this, but "millions" inconvenienced? Hardly. This is all normal stuff for a presidential visit. You are probably the only person outside of the NYC area that is upset over this. -

Millions of People To Be Inconvenienced By Obama Visit To NYC
Reservoir Dog replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
Meh. PPD operations are massive, and they cause inconvenience no matter where they are, or what time the occur. This is nothing different than what happened under past Presidents. However, the fact that the uber-liberals in NYC are the ones being inconvenienced, kind of gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. -
+1 The mods should clean up this thread Good. If you feel that strongly about it, you should start your own thread about it, instead of crapping in someone else's.

Glad you enjoyed your class at Tactical Response. Having taken Fighting Rifle, I agree that they have very good training. Fighting Pistol will probably be the next class I take there. Sorry your AAR is getting crapped on by the "Yeager-haters." Please don't let that discourage you from posting future AARs about any training you may take,

LMT SOPMOD is my favorite stock. The new Magpul STR looks nice since, unlike the ACS, it has QD sling mounts.

Usually, sellers post in there ads that the buyer is responsible for all transfer fees. I don't know how your ad was worded, but if nothing was mentioned, you may want to talk to the prospective buyer about all the fees that will be involved for an interstate Class 3 transfer, because it is expensive: 1. You will have to transfer the item to a Class 3 dealer here in TN ($200 transfer tax to ATF) 2. This dealer will have to transfer the item to the buyer's dealer in TX (your dealer will probably charge you a fee for that; usually $50 to $100) 3. Buyer's dealer will transfer it to him ($200 transfer tax to ATF), plus they will probably charge him a transfer fee for their troubles (again $50 to $100) As you can see, you are looking at $500+ to do an interstate transfer. I have seem some sellers pay the transfer tax and dealer fee on their end, and the buyer is responsible for the fees on their end. I guess it depends on the value of the item, and how bad you want to sell it.

Who has the right to ask you if you are carrying?
Reservoir Dog replied to sschrick's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I like that. If some random person asks me about the bulge under my shirt, I tell them it is a colostomy bag. That pretty much ends the conversation right there. -
Obviously.......sticks, bats and knives should be banned next.

Yes, PR is public relations. It could mean a lot of things. In my prior experience they included the following; - Business checks (getting out and talking to business owners; especially some that have had problems with crime on their property) - Apartment checks (stopping and talking to residents; maybe a little foot patrol through the complex) - Assisting stranded motorists - Getting out and attending local community group meetings There is a lot more, but I am sure you get the idea. Basically, non-enforcement type stuff. Call it "community policing" if you want.
-
That varies by department. When I was working patrol type duties, I had a very wide latitude. My boss liked to see "paper," so I would either issue a citation or a written warning. I gave out a lot more written warnings than citations, and still gave out plenty of verbal warnings. Personally, I was looking for drunks/drugs/warrants, and if none were present, they were usually on their way with a warning. I have a friend who is a patrol Lt. with Metro Nashville PD, and this very conversation came up. He said he doesn't care about tickets, but he does care about traffic stops. Meaning he wants his officers out there contacting the public looking for the serious stuff or just making PR contacts, and not worrying about the minor traffic violations. Another friend of mine works for a state police agency (not TN), and his bosses liked to see citations. He said that they did not have quota, but if you weren't writing tickets, you got a talking to by your supervisor.

Yes. If the situation was reversed, I would vote for Paul. As with Romney, there are things I like about Paul, and things that I don't like. Up against Obama, I will vote for whoever is the Republican nominee. I know it sounds bad, but our main focus this election has to be to vote Obama out, and we need an electable candidate to do that. Ron Paul is not electable to a national office.

Glad you experienced what the vast majority of police interactions are like.

Get the name, address and phone number of the FFL where he wants it shipped. Ask for the first three numbers and last five numbers of his dealer's FFL. Go here ==> https://www.atfonline.gov/fflezcheck/ , enter the numbers to make sure the FFL is still valid. Make sure you only ship it to the premises address that shows up the website. Box it up and ship it via FedEx, UPS or USPS. You would have better luck with UPS or FedEx, but stay away from the UPS Stores. Make sure you include a copy of your driver license with the gun. That way the dealer knows who he is receiving it from, and he can properly log it into his bound book.
