  1. See my replies in red. Granted, state laws will change the circumstances. I, also, was not aware that FL had a contiguous state requirement. It still seems to me that, barring any state law, my scenario would still be feasible. Again, I may be wrong, but I just don't see it in the law. I will make some inquiries tomorrow.
  2. I have carefully read all the sections I cited, and the exceptions in each one would seem to allow what I stated. I am not looking for an interpretation, I like to go by what the law actually says. Again, I just don't see where it would be prohibited.
  3. Okay. Maybe someone else will answer my question. You are saying the local dealer has to buy and sell the gun himself. I ask again: Where are you getting that? What law says a dealer may only acquire a firearm by buying it? What law says a dealer may only sell a gun to an out-of-state resident? I am not trying to be difficult, but the laws I am reading would seem to allow a firearm transfer like I originally described. However, if I am wrong, I would like to see the law that prohibits that type of transfer. I am looking at the following: 922(a)(3); 922(a)(5); and 922( b ) (3).
  4. No, not really. Where are you getting that the dealer in TN has to be selling the firearm to the out-of-state resident?
  5. Well, I know it won't work with a handgun. That is why I said "long gun" in my post. Gun stores do transfers all the time. If you buy from Bud's Gun Shop, the gun is simply transferred to your LGS, which in tun transfers it to you via 4473/TICS. There is no selling or buying to (or from) the local dealer, all you do is pay a fee for their service. I am not aware of any restriction about out-of-state residents doing that if they are temporarily visiting another state, but I may be wrong. Can you post the law/regulation that backs up what you are saying? EDIT: After rereading your post, I guess you are talking about the financial aspects to the dealer versus the legal aspects. I am sure the transferring dealer would charge his normal transfer fee for this, and I would expect that.
  6. Contact your local gun shop and see if they are willing to transfer the long gun. You would transfer it to your local shop, then the buyer would do a 4473 and TICS at the store, and complete the transfer there. That is another option to sending it to an FFL in the buyer's state.
  7. Call RRA and tell them that, unfortunately, you are going to have to change the specification on your payment. You paid with a credit card, see if you have any recourse through your CC company. Though, it will probably be an uphill battle.
  8. The Morse Code requirement was dropped in 2007.
  9. Never heard of one failing, but it is a mechanical device, so there is always the possibility. However, since most modern pistols have some sort of firing pin block safety, even if the de-cocker did fail, it is highly unlikely that the pistol would discharge,
  10. I got the same result. No surprise there.
  11. http://www.tngunowne...m-participants/ Sadly, it would appear there is a statute of limitations. So much for the "moral high ground." I'll make this my last post on this thread crapping debate, as I have also been guilty of derailing this thread, even it it was to call out the posts that had no business being here. I will say this to other prospective Tactical Response customers: Having actually taken a class there, I can honestly tell you that it is good training, and it will be money well spent. Pay no attention to the whining and bitching from people who have never been there, and only base their opinions on something that happened years ago on the other side of the world.
  12. Just checking, since it took you over a month to tell me to "stow that ####."
  13. Did you read the deleted posts before you came into this thread? There was nothing relevant about them. The OP posted about his experience at Tactical Response with their Fighting Pistol class. The subsequent posts concerned nothing but someone's dislike for Yeager based solely on the incident in Iraq. It had nothing to do with the substance or quality of the training offered by Tactical Response, or the Fighting Pistol class. Nothing at all. It was just another way someone could whine and bitch about Yeager. I don't care if people want to complain about Yeager, but doing it in a someone's thread like that was uncalled for.
  14. I fail to see what Yeager did years ago in Iraq has to do with someone posting an AAR about their impressions of a training class at Tactical Response. And according to the OP, Yeager was not even one of the instructors. Yet the Yeager-haters want to immediately jump in and post stuff that is completely irrelevant to the topic of the thread. That's thread crapping, pure and simple. Those posts were out of line, and only serve to discourage people from posting future AARs about training. Maybe you could start an "I Hate James Yeager" section here on TGO. That way, other members and site staff can post ad nauseum about their disdain for Yeager, and keep that stuff out of the technical forums on TGO.
  15. I like the way these look, and how close the lights are to the rifle. However, these things have long necks, and I just wonder how they would stand up to abuse. Do they seem pretty sturdy?
  16. An interesting take on Roberts decision: http://www.ijreview.com/2012/06/9398-why-chief-justice-roberts-made-the-right-long-term-decision-with-obamacare/ Basically saying that Roberts nixed any future mandates based on the commerce clause, and forced all future mandates to be funded by tax increases. That would make them a much harder sell if a new tax is involved. Unfortunately, either way, we are stuck with this stupid law. Hopefully, repeal is in the future, however, I am not holding my breath.
  17. Huh? The shooting happened in 2010.
  18. Cool. I am digging the over-travel stop to prevent over insertion. Having done that a few times in training classes, that sure is a bitch to clear.
  19. Yes, to both questions. I tried it both ways, and still get all the search results. However, this is weird; I get all the results using Firefox, but get no results using IE or Safari. I cleared my cache and history in Firefox, but I still get everything. Odd.
  20. Yes, I am using your links. I just checked them again, and I see LCPs, Glocks and Wolf 9mm under the appropriate links. Edit: I get the same results when I do the Google searches myself. Everything is showing up here.
  21. Am I missing something? I see guns and ammo under each of the Google results.
  22. If the facts are merely that he is felon and he is fleeing, then yes, it is a no-no. However, if the officer has probable cause that the fleeing felon poses a threat of death or serious bodily harm to someone, deadly force may be used to prevent escape.
  23. Only US citizens can vote in Federal elections. Non-US citizens may be able to vote in state or municipal elections, but that will depend on the voting laws in the respective states.
  24. I have no problem with Permanent Resident Aliens carrying.
  25. That really doesn't change anything. You still risk your account and money if PayPal finds out you are using it to buy/sell firearms. But, hey, it's your money.
