Putnam County Sheriff's are some of the NICEST most laid back people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. When I see a PCS fly by all I can think, "There was either a pretty bad wreck or someone has SERIOUSLY @#$%ed up..."

Ideas on removing critters from crawlspace

Hey, gets rid of them AND gives you that skylight you always wanted, two critters with one HE stone! -
I live in the city limits but even here, the LEO's told my dad years ago that if you find an animal nuisance in your yard just to shoot it. More or less his response...

Another water source for SHTF water
whitewolf001 replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Survival and Preparedness
In a more arid climate one all one would need is to dig a smallish hole, put your storage media(preferablly a bucket or if needed a cup) in the center with something like a tarp or synthetic that won't absorb but rather repel the water. Stretch said repellent media over the storage, use something heavier to hold four corners at least, then put a small weighted object in the center of it. Any ambient moisture in the ground that would normally evaporate in the morning is now trapped by the repellent and drips down towards the storage media and ta-dah, water in a normally more arid environment, of course, this is only really plausible with newer synthetic materials I would think, do keep in mind that this is all theory based and I haven't applied it in the real world. I'm sure timestepper could give a TON of tips on the matter. -
Welcome to the forum cousin. Try out Cookeville, we'd be more than happy to have ya. Small college town (TTU), Putnam County Rod and Gun Club, about 50-55 minutes from Nashville Intl, population is roughly 30k. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookeville,_Tennessee https://maps.google.com/?ll=36.123455,-85.504532&spn=0.329454,0.834274&t=m&z=11 We're smack in the middle between Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanoga; it's about an hour to Nashville, just a hair over an hour to Knoxville and about an hour 20ish to Chattanoga. Lots of mom and pop restaurants and good state parks are everywhere within close proximity.

Dealt with them twice when I was younger, once for doing 95 in a 70 just before Lebanon west bound and once after I had an accident in my car and was missing the rear bumper, they gave me a $150 citation for no bumper on the vehicle. The THP's in these parts are strict as Hell, lol. The saying goes around here, "If a THP pulls you over, 90% chance you're getting a ticket." lol

Also keep in mind that these are skills and items that you can pass down to your kids. If they don't wanna pursue them then that's okay, that's their choice but if they decide to continue your legacy and something DOES happen, your bloodline will have a much better chance of survival which, when you look at it, this is all life boils down to, living so that we may pass on our genetic legacy. -
OK, point taken, they all serve under USSOCOM and the HK417 is used as a DMR under SOCOM, which branch, I'm not sure.
-
Sniper systems aside, for ONE, yes they do. There is a detachment of US Army special forces based in Okinawa that made a purchase of 87 416 uppers to equip to their Colt lower recievers, not to mention the weapons used to bring down Osama were HK416's. Seals are Special Warfare or Special Ops, the same fricking thing, you're nitpicking now. Now then, I also said HK417's not 16, the 417 is the 7.62NATO variant of the same rifle which is in FACT used by United States Special Forces.

Brigsby began walking back to the main area of the station where he flagged down Wade who was talking to one of the people brought in from outside, Wade nodded and made his way towards him. The three men now quickly veered off down a different hallway that Jack wasn't familiar with, "Brigsby?" he asked with a worried tone, Wade responded in his place, "Just follow us, you'll get a kick out of it anyways." Jack followed Mike and Wade to the new area now with more curiosity than worry, the two approached an room that had a sign, 'Department Armory', it was the area of the department where all weapons the officers would use or need were stored. Wade asked a bit wearily, "Now Mike, we're not gonna get in trouble for this are we?", Mike smiled and inserted the key, before turning it, "If we do, we do but at this point this is one of those, 'in case of emergency, break glass' moments." Mike turned the key, and then opened the handle and the three stepped inside. Inside were locked cages holding numerous weapons, pretty much all standard issue; several Glock 22's chambered in .40 Smith and Wesson, assorted variants of the AR-15, some riot guns mixed up of Mossberg 590's and Remington 870's two of the 870's being SBS's(Short Barreled Shotguns), and not many sniper rifles consisting of 2 Remington 700's, a Winchester Model 70 and one Armalite AR-15 setup as a designated SPR(Special Purpose Rifle)designed as a counter-sniper weapon. There were other weapons in the S.W.A.T. lockers but only the Captain, lead S.W.A.T. and the Armorer have access to them. Another locker contained the ammunition they needed for any of the corresponding weapons. Jack looked to Mike and asked, "Are you planning on arming any of the civilians." Wade immediately responded, "NO WAY MAN! None of those guys would even know how to use one!" The comment hit home for Jack because he is a civilian like them with no formal Military or Police training, "I just so happen to be one of those civvies, BOY!" Wade cracked a smile, "I'm sorry, I forgot we had Rambo over here." Mike interupted Jack before he could say anything, "Enough Wade, judging from the way he's handled himself so far, he has ALOT more training than you, besides we have bigger fish to fry." Little did Wade know that Jack had attended several schools of instruction including Suarez Intl., Thunder Ranch, and Tactical Response involving the tactical combat carbine, shotgun, pistol, combat medic, and precision rifle totaling a little over 368 hours of instructional time to try to fill the void that his friends, being former military, had created with their incredible training and actual combat experience. Jack smiled at Wade who was now fuming over being called out on his provication. Mike looked at the weapons with a worried look, "If it comes down to it, we'll need to arm them so they can protect themselves but not until they absolutely need to do so. There's only three of us here who have official training. We'll wait until we absolutely have to." Wade was awe struck by that statement, "Are you serious Mike? You could be fired, even thrown away for that!" Mike didn't raise his voice as he calmly replied, "You think I haven't thought about that? This just goes to show how grave the situation really is." Mike grabbed a Colt LE6940 off the rack and inserted an empty magazine slapping the bottom to ensure that it was seated, "Well, let's get to work gents."

I do especially love that the mags for the HK series are cheap as HELL.

I have to disagree with the pricing on the DSA FAL as they can be had from AIM for $1499. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1DSASA58S21&name=DSA+SA58+FAL+.308+21%22+Rifle&groupid=6 The DSA with a folding stock will cost what you list but just for the stock itself. Tell me where you know of a 716 for $1500 and I will snatch it up in a heartbeat! :yum:

Thanks gents, I will try to keep it going as much as possible. I apologize about the prior lag time before, when I get in a slump and don't feel like writing I just can't do it and if I forced myself, I feel like I'd be doing a disservice to the readers. Bear with me as I trudge this bad boy out. :D

Good for them, gets some more scum off the street. It's THESE kind of people that are giving us honest owners a bad reputation. :woohoo:

One reason I know of that it is ridiculously priced is the finish they used on it. Instead of the phosphate finish that Magpul used on the Masada they use a Nitride finish and forgo the chrome lined setup, thus increasin cost. I was excited to see that it was ORIGINALLY going to cost around $1500 then Bushmaster released their official statement saying that it would cost MSRP $2500-3000 and that PISSED alot of people off, myself included. For the money, you can have a SCAR 16S but you're trading for it, just keep in mind used they go for roughly 18-2100. :2cents:

Read about that yesterday, tis some nasty business. It's a good thing that it turned out the way it did instead of the alternative, could've been a very slippery slope.
