  1. Ah, well that sucks... if QC continues to be an issue then they won't be open for long. Oh well, gotta keep saving for that Faxon ARAK21 that Dustbuster should TOTALLY sell me, lmao.
  2. Ah I see. Not really my objective, thought it was cool and so I snagged it and a bunch of other stuff laying around the shop to build me a lower.
  3.   Did you give them any feedback sir? They can't fix a problem if they aren't aware of it. I plan on letting them know about the bolt catch area and they've already fixed the finish issue with Cerakote. If they continue to produce a product which doesn't meet customer expectations then yeah, they'll go outta business but calling it garbage and chalking it up to a loss and not telling them isn't going to do a thing about it main. Case in point; http://magtacticalsystems.com/index.php/2013-07-29-03-32-34/2013-08-01-17-32-25/product/10-black-lower#refund-exchange-policy
  4. Well, I got a MG-G4 with PSA lpk, Magpul ACS stock, DD sling adapter, Magpul BAD, and two factory Colt 20 rnd mags for my time served helping my buddy run his shop on my days off from my normal job. Well, we got it put together and it came together in a snap BUT we had two major problems I noticed when assembled; number one being the finish, this is the absolute worst factory finish I have ever SEEN. I had noticed some debris in the description, I scratched it with my thumb nail and a flake of the finish came right off. I was floored by this and my jaw literally dropped. Well my bud, whom co-owns the shop I've been helping out at, went to Knob Creek this weekend and ran into the guys at MAG Tactical, they said that they've completely switched finishes within the last six months of production to Cerakote and that to just send it in and they will Cerakote it to any color of my choice. Well, this relieved some of my anger even though I could do it myself in 1/10 the time it would take to send it to them and have it done BUT I have yet to even scratch the surface of funds for my Faxon upper so I guess it's not so bad. The other thing I noticed was a fitment issue of the Bolt Catch Latch. It is VERY tight, like to the point where it is depressed, it slows down and stops about 80% through its cycle. Well some Gibbs and a small file fixed that issue though it shouldn't have been an issue to begin with... overall I am very pleased with it albeit there being those two exceptions, mostly due to the fact I have NO money tied up in this whatsoever and for the record we did two other lowers that had absolutely no fitment issues whatsoever and had no blemishes on the finish. It would appear that only some had issues and some do not. I hope they work out as all upstart companies sometimes have bugs to work out in the process. I must say that the PSA lpk is also flawless as expected, their triggers really are the best LPK triggers I have had the pleasure of dealing with. The Magpul ACS stock is too fregin sweet although a PAIN to install. For anyone that gets this stock, do NOT follow the directions and try to use the polymer snap cap that is included for install, use a punch or something that is, oh I don't know, metallic. Photos to follow!
  5. Spikes is awesome quality for the price but in a versus against the Daniel Defense there is no question, go DD my friend.
  6. UNFORTUNATELY , this deal fell into the lap of my buddy whom owns a shop, I was covering for him today so he could go score us some reloading supplies for the shop and he happened upon a vendor that had Trijicon ACOGs that were well used, some according to him were hazy from where the glass was so damaged from what I assume is sand. His had clear as day glass, the tritium had died in it so it is an older unit but the light tube was still intact and the chevron glows like crazy during daylight hours. He snagged it for $350 bones which for an ACOG I think is a VERY good deal, even well used these things are generally high. Now to convince him to come off it... :dirty:
  7. Yeah, then you're into it for what you've could've gotten a entry level Colt or BCM in the first place.
  8.   How much they gonna go for once they hit the shelf?
  9. It may not weigh a whole lot but when you're walking miles with it and several mags, it adds up. Ounces lead to pounds and pounds lead to, "GAH, MY FREGIN  FEET!!!!" lol. ;) Though, this option is a big and resounding "@#$% NO".
  10. wow...    :stunned:
  11. Not really, they're made out of inferior steel to get them to the cheaper price point. If they were made of the same steel as a Springfield, Colt, or Kimber, they'd be just as expensive as the three aforementioned. Just read here and see what the first several articles relate to. http://forum.m1911.org/forumdisplay.php?forumid=115
  12. Not if he's got a beer in his hand. :tough:
  13.   Heck, being an eBay product it's probably the real deal, made in Pakistan or one of its neighbors... ;)
  14.   LMAO, yeah, I think someone made a comment on there along the lines of "send it to a gunsmith and have em slap some silly puddy on it." I about fell off my stool when I read that one.
  15. Keep in mind this is NOT my weapon and was a post made by 556 Tactical LLC on Facebook I saw earlier. "Bushmaster Carbon 15 that was dropped onto the deck. That's right, simply dropping the rifle caused this catastrophic failure."
  16.   Very true, kinetic energy is just that; that's also why 5.7x28 is so popular, while it lacks mass it has speed which results in force.
  17. ^^^This. If you plan on going to anything shorter than 12", go with a bigger caliber such as .300 or 6.8, 6.8 was actually designed with a SBR in mind for CQB room clearing. Not to mention super popular with hog hunters with it's good terminal ballistics.
  18.   Plus can make training on the platform a HELLUVA lot cheaper than 5.56.
  19. Good post there OS, all this time I thought you fellers were talking about a razor blade that you were holding just a blade... well, who da dummy now? -_-
  20. I could see special ops units of the future using something akin to that. It's something I've thought about for sometime about augmenting our warfighters such as; noise cancelling/enhancing even something akin to hearing aids just more advanced, can save our boys the medical bills down the road for hearing loss. A mask like that would no doubt have sight enhancement tech such as NV/Thermal not to mention a zoom function and if it were to be tied in with some sort of battle network where a live sat image feed could be conjoined in with the mask then one could get a constant and accurate data feed of enemy locations not to mention it would all a sniper team to get exact distance on a target regardless of previous intel on that specific battlefield. I find that the next 30 years is going to provide a huge leap forward in technology.
  21. You don't have to follow it in that order but that is rather thorough either way, though, this vid makes it look WAY easier than it is on your first try. One thing I may suggest for the small roll pins such as the bolt catch pin is to use a set of pliers, like a slip joint, wrapping the points of contact in duct tape or electrical tape so as to not mar or damage the surface plus, this can be done with one set of hands. Another trick for install of the front take down pin is to use a flat piece of steel like a razor blade, I however use a puddy knife, same effect minus the hazzard of cutting myself as I'm a clutz.
  22.   Either of those would good to go, it then depends on the quality of your lower but as with all things mechanical they can and WILL break, just a matter of when.
  23.   It doesn't if there isn't anyone there to support the one being bullied. I knew someone that tried to kill themselves when they were caught up in it, not cool at all.
  24. Bullying is one thing but this is just pure garbage.
