Their BIG benefit is that you get a long barrel in a design that is usually shorter than most AR-15 SBR's so you have DMR capability in a very small package.

I had the opportunity to get one for $550 with ammo about 3 years ago, I passed the deal off to a buddy of mine. Bad news: I didn't get the rifle. Good news: I still got to play with it since I brought some surplus 54R, heh heh.

Though, if I do get a M1A EBR, I'm going to do it with a Sage Intl mod. M14ALCS, it's expensive but I've always liked em BUT ever since I played with one at the Outpost Armory I have wanted one ever since.

You really can't grasp how this can happen until it's this close to home. My bud lives about a mile from where that happened and that's an area I ride my bike through too. (o_O)

The thing that turns me off from a M1A EBR build is that it makes it HEAVY, IIRC, those add like another 2-3 lbs with all the metal BUT you're a big boy Spots so I suppose you'll manage. Is that your Go-Gun now?

FDE is color preference, though I have to concur with Garufa in that it's not a color that is common in Tennessee.

It's the same, in that you are correct IMHO. My post is more referring to the article in general. Seems ALOT like Ruby Ridge/Waco tactics and the fact he got three years seems bogus to me. I would like to know more about this case however. -
