1.
Who runs the Saiga in 308? Ive tried to find information on which military units field or have fielded this weapon and I come up with nothing.
Touché, that is a valid point and I concede. I do PERSONALLY still consider it a battle rifle just by the nature of the beast BUT by definition it hasn't been fielded. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
2.
Yes, but its from the Kalashnikov family.
That makes no difference to the definition of the word brother. By that logic, the G3, FAL, and M14 should all be in separate categories as per your interpretation. An AR10 is a battle rifle while an M16 is an assault rifle, while they're the same family, that being the Stoner weapons family they are inherently different just in those two classifications. A Saiga .308 AK is in fact a battle rifle while a Saiga 7.62x39 AK is an assault rifle and the same way a SVD Dragunov or a Mk11(M110) or Mk12 are sniper rifles and not assault rifles nor battle rifles(obviously I'm not talking about our imported sporter versions either). A weapons family does not denote what category it falls under. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
3. Welcome to the forum cousin.
4. Welcome cousin.
5. If you make your way further west, let us know. I'm sure a member or two would be happy to take you out for a range day, at least I would.
6. A battle rifle is generally either a full auto or semi auto rifle adopted by a military force which uses a full power cartridge. The Saiga is in fact a battle rifle by definition.
7. Try Beretta, they'll be opening up shop soon if they haven't already filled up all the slots.
8. Welcome from east of your pos cousin. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
9.
but I don't believe in carrying 1911s or other single actions for defense.
Brace yourselves, the 1911 posts are coming... Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
10.
Tanker never did post any proof of his 'lemon'.
Very true, many posts it seems have to be taken with a grain of salt and a touch of cynicism. As a generality of course. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
11. Holy thread resurrection batman! Oh, and welcome to the forum cousin, even if it is bashing a banned member, welcome. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
12. Oh I've had several before, hence the thread title, I've just never had a Colt and never had the opportunity to get one used where the seller didn't want it for more than they paid. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
13. One of the first comp rifles I made. This one was meant to be as light as possible, hovers right around the 5lb mark. Prototype for my lightweight weapon. VLTOR SPR Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
14. I found this app on Facebook and apparently it is super popular on arfcom. Its called Gunstruction and for you fellow AR builders it is highly addictive. I suppose for those that do have the app, if any, this will be a good thread to post pics of your builds. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
15. I used my app to make some rifles and this one is probably my favorite. VLTOR piston driven SPR platform. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
16. I have ALWAYS wanted a Colt 1911 and came across this XSE I couldn't pass up. Some may call me a blasphemer or congratulate me, doesnt bother me either way because I have wanted one since I was a kid and finally have one, pretty sure I'm gonna be buried with this one, haha. Its no where near mint as who had it before me scratched it trying to take it apart. Came with three factory mags, haven't got a chance to blast er yet. Also bought one of the Bianchi model 82 holsters in black. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
17.
Are you saying that most that are prepping, dislikes obama because of his race? I'm not what almost anyone would consider a "prepper" and any prepper would probably consider me a complete failure so i'm not taking offense or anything so that's not my reason for asking.
That was poorly worded I suppose, I am not saying that all preppers are racist by any measure, just that in MY specific travels that most people I come across that blame der fuh.... er, the commander in chief on almost everything are "so called peppers" whom generally don't abide by the three B's of Beans, Bullets, and Bandaids and rather usually just prep bullets as their contingency and then blame the administration for the shortage while shaking their fist in the air. Also not saying that they aren't responsible for the shortage as I have no conclusive evidence lending to either argument, just saying as a generality. Also don't consider yourself a failure, at least you're on the right track cousin. Ten percent of something is better than a hundred percent of nothing. Hope this cleared up any misunderstanding. 19.
Painting with a broad brush regarding those whose every other word is "Obama" or something to the effect the sky is falling.
I can agree with this, even being a prepper myself, especially in both of my lines of work. You generally see them categorized with one if not either of these descriptions from; they blame Obama for the weather being cool that day because he is a choice racial expletive(smh) and/or how they're preparing by buying up all the ammo they possibly can. Admirable as that may be, and I say that VERY lightly if at all, people like this will either still end up dead or as raiders IF a shtf event were to occur. I prep for just that, to be prepared but I don't let it consume me and define me but its a topic I can sometimes get excited about because I enjoy the preparations, can't say that I'd enjoy needing to use em though. There are some that I can't say the same about... Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.

I did ride some in the afternoon though and found a nice little road down between Centerville and Hoenwold.
I had to ride from Cookeville so I know what you mean. :p Sorry to hear about your bad luck cousin. Next time then. ^_^ Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.
