  1. It was crazy because I was still on the tractor and riding out when they stepped out into the new field. They wer running and bouncing around. Was really cool cause even though I know they saw/heard me they just played. One of those times where I wouldn't have shot even if I had a rifle
  2. Some trails in the smokies had standard copy paper laminated saying closed with some ribbon that somehow was torn down so as not to impede the enjoyment of land that We the People supposedly own
  3. I snuck out to the new lease today and hung a stand for muzzle loader season. I bush hogged a 40x100 yard opening out of 7 ft tall briars. There were 3 does in it as I left today. Gonna be good I hope!
  4. I'm not sure, but feel like I'm seeing some JB WELD on there also
  5. My handloads look exactly the same and I "classified" them as jacketed hollow points in case the man asks...
  6. Everything lol
  7. I've been kicking around the idea of trying this out. Off to the idpa site to see what all is needed. The stages look fun for sure!
  8. Now I know I can hide my gun in the freezer as long as I put it in a Baggie lol
  9. Looks like a coyote killing machine now! Although I don't think I want to be sitting beside you with that brake you have on!!! Might knock the call outta my hand!
  10. it will affect the hunters like us long term in 2 ways. Our fees we paid in this year that they were using for whatever they chose to, if refunded, will cause a dramatic increase in the price of license fees over the next few years. I'm not talking the $1-$5 range. I'm betting a $10-20 increase. I see them having no issue charging $150 for the sportsmans license before long. Looks like I'll be saving for my lifetime license. Luckily I bought my sons his when he was 2! Second way is all the quota hunts will either go up in price, or they will do away with them due to "funding". Not sure how much it takes to run a quota hunt, since I have been on lots and not seen any increased amenities or breakfast buffets anywhere I've hunted.
  11. Take the drift wood and either drill or cut small slots in it? Folders would be opened and inserted into drift and obviously fixed would just slide in. Kinda resemble taking a knife and sticking it into the piece of wood...
  12. Check your local craigslist. I'd bet someone will take it off your hands. More than likely they will want it free, but you prob can negotiate and come out with a little cash?
  13. Ditto! They have no shortage now, and are breaking habits. Gonna be tough till rut
  14. Gun show in Smyrna some years ago the person checking guns at the door somehow let one rip, luckily right into the floor. People hit the ground all over the place
  15. I watched a drunk guy load a very new Ranger into the back of a full size Bronco. He yelled out "when in doubt, pin it!" Prior to embedding it into the bronco.
  16. Enjoy the peace and quiet! Watch out for drones patrolling for trespassers though
  17. I'm firmly convinced that the mornings I don't hunt that deer are out playing, fornicating, and having all sorts of fun under my stands. The only way to prove myself wrong is to go hunt :-)
  18. I'll be sneaking out for a few in the morn to try to stick one. Clear night won't help though, I bet they are cruising around the woods right now!
  19. I like it! While less likely to cause permanent hearing damage, I go this route. I always act interested, especially on the alarm systems and such, yet ask incredibly dumb questions. I let them give the spiel then I ask about setting the appointment. When they ask when, i make them work with a few dates then we agree on one. I give me excuses like I have to do my weekend time at the county pen, ooh that's rooster fighting Wednesday, sorry but I'm in a worlds tallest midget contest that day, ect. If they make it past that round of bs I usually try to give written directions from wherever they are because "I don't trust those PGS systems". But of course using landmarks like the giant Indian statue that fell over last year ect. Usually by now I've been hung up on or they have no clue and I start to describe an alien obduction or something similar...that gets me off the phone after I've had my fun with them.
  20. DONOTCALL.GOV is down now. Everyone is fair game for telemarketers now! I've received no less than 4 calls a day. This is getting stupid. Correction, this is stupid
  21. Hunted this evening. Checked the trail cam on the way out, time stamp on a pic showed 30 min before I got to my stand a coyote was popping a squat right in front of the cam, almost mocking me! When I go back this weekend to check the cam, I'll swap the memory card and post a pic for y'all to see. It's stupidly funny the expression this coyote has!
  22. Along the same lines has anyone used a laser designator for a scoped rifle? I have some decent gen 3 goggles, but would be curios of any 1st hand exp on the designators. Not trying to hijack, thought this might be valuable info as well related to the 200 yard part...
  23. My wife looked at me like I was stupid, I laughed so much I had tears in my eyes!
