  1. Not to hijack, but I loved my Taurus PT92. Bought it over the Beretta simply for the fact that the decock returned to neutral vs staying in decock position.
  2. Rock Island / Armscorp makes a very solid lower cost 1911 available in 9mm. I've had or still have everything from the GI to their target/higher end guns. My current carry is the TCM Micromagnum combo which has a 9mm barrel and spring and a 22TCM barrel and spring. All in all I love the Rock Island models and can't say enough good about them. But then again I love my Taurus TCP 380 so who knows about my opinion :-)
  3. The funny thing is I saw no less than 40 deer on my home this evening. Like they know it's safe now! In all seriousness though, I only took 1 doe this year. And the only one I can blame is myself. I didn't "get" insert the honest word (make) enough time to have a productive season. Yes I could have killed more, but the real reason I didn't still falls back on ME. Either I was waiting on the buck I "knew" was behind the group of does, or that one looks a little small, ect. Whatever my excuse was to myself was just that, an excuse! I feel like I have a great deer population, but all in all, I think the harvest rates are down for one reason. Us
  4. I had an operator error last week where I only saw 3 items. Turns out I had selected a checkbox on the lower left side of the screen that limited content to x. I reset my browser, cleared cookies, ect...but turns out just a misplaced click in a checkbox was the issue
  5. Most.expensive.nerf.gun.ever!
  6. Looks much easier than swinging an 8lb maul. But I'd get cold running that! I depend on effort and physical movement to stay warm!
  7. It is now officially cold! I just ran out to my shop for some gun lube and wasn't sure id make it back. My concrete aka ice rink about claimed me as a victim as I jogged out since wind is blowing 20-30mph and the temp is 23 with a wind chill of 11.
  8. The truck is sick, the Camaro is cool, but the boys running the sprints are nuts!!!
  9. This is something that never used to dawn on me, and it's a good point. Several years ago after a motorcycle wreck, my roommate in ICU was there from a tree stand accident. At least that's what the dr's were calling it anyway. Turns out he was in a climber, but another tree 15 or so yards came down in the wind and took him out of the tree. After I heard the story from his family it really made more aware in the woods, and really more aware at a greater circumference of my stand. Glad you brought that up, and glad you dodged that one Luke. And I guess now that deer season has ended its off to hunt smaller critters until spring spawn rolls around!
  10. Just east of Nashville we are at 31 degrees right now. Was 47 about an hour ago
  11. Welcome!
  12. You are correct. A lot of folks don't know what T shot is, so the reference to buck shot was for similarity. Good call for clarification! For those that haven't seen T Shot, it's 2 sizes smaller than No. 4 buck, and bigger than BBB Shot. It works great, and is usually cheaper than heavy shot or the coyote specific shells
  13. Berth page is a short 30 min ride. I'll be glad to show what calls I have and how I use them. Good thing is calls aren't stupidly priced like some duck calls. Most that I use are less than $30. They key is sounding like a dying anything, and being able to grab the yotes attention. If they are near, they almost always come to investigate. I'll shoot you a pm with contact info
  14. If your relatively close to Lebanon an evening hunt is possible. Most hunts don't last more than 15 min in the same 1 mile area. At most I like to call for 30 min before moving on to the next set.
  15. I know a few folks down that way that have them on their farms. I honestly don't think there are many areas in TN that don't have them. They are very intelligent little suckers and can survive dang near anywhere.
  16. Any shotgun and T shot or rifle will work. I carry either an AR or Rem 870. If woods or small clearing it's shotgun all the way. Get a lot of shots within 25 yards. Edit: removed "buckshot" and replaced with T Shot. Had used the word buckshot for reference, but mike243 made the good point that it isn't legal in TN, so not a good reference on my part.
  17. Outstanding! February begins the mating season and peaks activity. Pm inbound
  18. If you didn't know LBL has a good hunt every February. If interested I'm going to be up there the first week of Feb calling them in!
  19. I just posted a very similar topic! I've coyote hunted for several years and don't mind showing anyone that's safe
  20. With deer season coming to an end, checking everyone's pulse on some coyote hunting. I'm in the Lebanon area and would be glad to introduce or work with some folks just getting into coyote hunting. I have several places to hunt, and if you want to thin the population at your farm or lease that's ok too. I don't mind calling, and honestly when calling it's easier to have another shooter as those suckers detect movement like no other. I'm working on some new calls for a February hunt and the only way to tell how they work is getting out into the woods! Anyway, if anyone in Mid Tn is interested lets hear it
  21. If they don't "live" here in TN, can you whack it and put it in the freezer?
  22. Luke said it best. The RK shows that used to come to Lebanon were ok, but this promoter is very poor at providing anything that resembles a quality organized event. The one positive is there isn't enough goons showing up to have a high risk of a ND.
  23. Same here. You're gonna have a better luck finding .22 ammo at a decent price than scoring a deal here. Same guys in the back hall wanting $400 for an 870 that looks like they drug it behind the truck to the fairgrounds.
  24. Corrected finally on my end. Id10t error...
  25. Better late than never, just put the first deer of the season in the cooler. They seem or be moving today. Wonder if the front coming in has em moving?
