  1. Thanks bro. And I'm up for making some sets this weekend for sure. Had a couple coyotes run thru the back field Sunday morning as we were headed to church. It's currently 415 am, 25 degrees, ice on the trees and snow on the ground. Sausage is cooking and biscuits in the oven. Gonna be a good day!
  2. Yeah it was pretty exciting. Of all the hunting I do, coyotes get me more shook up than anything else. Nothing like being the point of aggression or mimicking the food source for these dogs. They are super aggressive this time of year, and while I know they won't get any closet than 7ft (last year one was shot and rolled to my boots) kt still makes it intense! Hoping to put my buddy and his brother on some tomorrow. Any of y'all in mid tn let me know if you wanna make a few sets one weekend, plenty of yotes to go around it appears!
  3. So I couldn't stay out of the woods too long! This is day one of my LBL coyote hunt. Got a buddy and his 16 yr old brother with me. Second set of the day at the 4 minute mark 3 came in hot and busted the 16 yr old as he mounted the gun. 3 dogs, 3 shots and no fur busted. Made about 5 other sets today and no luck. Gonna beat em up pretty hard tomorrow and head home after lunch. Hoping tomorrow will be more productive. Nothing like 3 dogs full tilt at you to break the winter blues. And it's all on GoPro vid!
  4. $25/50 is the running price at my local GS as well. Hard to beat that price for factory loads, plus the brass is really good quality for reloads.
  5. I'm glad to hear of another local source for 22 TCM. it's my primary carry caliber now.
  6. Looks like there is plans for Beretta coming to Gallatin area WSMV www.wsmv.com/story/24574277/beretta-usa-building-new-facility-in-sumner-co
  7. If you wanna really dial in instinctive shooting, give bowfishing a try. It's a blast, you get fertilizer for the garden, and keeps you shooting a bow all summer.
  8. I'd love to see the process for setting the elevation on that scope!
  9. Looks like y'all had a very good hunt! Congrats! Now it's almost coyote time!!!
  10. I went out last week when it hit 60 degrees here. Only caught 1 bass. They are pretty lethargic right now. Our tourney's start up on Memorial Day so I can't wait either!
  11. My suggestions are early morn and evening, but with mating season fast approaching and time of the day is possible. When I first started I tried the sound app on the phone, but quickly realized I was set up to fail (within first 30 min) If possible go buy a distress call. Expect to spend less than $20. Bass pro has a call I really like and have had tons of success with. It's called the Lil SkiYote. It's a small blue open reed that works great. And for making the sounds, simply make it sound like you are murdering a small animal. There are very few ways to hunt at night (legally in Tn that is). Using artificial light is not legal. And in all reality, it would be tough as hell to even see one at night. Daylight is the only way to go for sure. Contrary to popular belief, those little wild dogs are incredibly smart and cunning. So smart in fact that you can educate them rather quickly by blowing the same call, or not changing your calling strategy, pattern, or sound. And like I've offered others, if interested and ever want to give it a shout, I don't mind calling for a person or showing them anything I know.
  12. Up for grabs is a Hogue wrap around grip for a Beretta 92. Put on and took back off.
  13. T-shot is good stuff. Really puts me down within 30 yards! You should check out LBL in Feb. They do a full month long center fire coyote hunt. I'll be there some I'm sure
  14. I'm likely one of the few that have never had a single problem with any Taurus. Loved the crap out of my PT92 AFS and kick myself every day for selling it. Slide and action were like butter. Was heavy no doubt, but loved that gun. My reason for it over the Baretta was 1 simple thing. The decock / safety and the fact it returns to neutral on the Taurus where the Baretta stays in decock. I'm probably even more narrowed out when i say I love my TCP 380 too!
  15. I haven't seen a fox while predator hunting since last year in LBL. Coyote and bobcat seem to be a regular sighting while I've been working a distress call the last few weeks, but more coyotes than bobcats for sure. Speaking of coyotes, mating season is just around the corner and they are slowly starting to respond to female calls now. Can't wait till they come running in in groups of 2+ to find the end of an AR or 3 1/2 turkey load headed their way!
  16. For the die hard sports guy, have a.friend who has comcast and offer to pay for their sports package in return for their login...then you can watch it on the go via an app on an iPad/tablet/smartphone, then if at home use Apple TV or chrome cast to toss it up on the big screen...works like a champ!
  17. I got my fix today by shooting my coyote AR, getting ready for LBL center fire season in a couple weeks. Gonna see if we can out do last years hunt and smoke at least 4 coyotes in a day.
  18. I have been told I need a support group for hunting lol. Mainly from my wife! I told her I'm joining today lol. Hi, my name is Joe and I am addicted to shooting and hunting and fishing... Man I feel better!
  19. I've been off the cable/sat train for more than 2 years now. I bought a decent digital antenna and mounted it in my attic, then trunked it into the main co ax junction box so it feeds all tvs in the house. Between that, Netflix, and hulu I'm good to go. Costs me a grand total of $19 a month. The trick on Netflix is to search though, cause the normal listings get old quick. There is tons of stuff. Sports ect. But searching is required
  20. I feel like I hit the lotto! I literally was in the middle of setting up my Benefactor and iPad crapped out. When I got my other out, I saw this and thought yeah right, I'll never get that but looks like I'm the lucky one! Guess I'm off to the pay it forward thread to add my own goodies for someone else to use! Thanks TDR!!!
  21. WOW! I know what I'm getting for my Dirty Santa gift at the office this year
  22. So there is a guy that I've seen at local gun shows, he usually has the GI 9mm for $410 out the door including background. If you want to know who let me know and I'll pm you his info.
  23. Not to hijack, but I loved my Taurus PT92. Bought it over the Beretta simply for the fact that the decock returned to neutral vs staying in decock position.
  24. Rock Island / Armscorp makes a very solid lower cost 1911 available in 9mm. I've had or still have everything from the GI to their target/higher end guns. My current carry is the TCM Micromagnum combo which has a 9mm barrel and spring and a 22TCM barrel and spring. All in all I love the Rock Island models and can't say enough good about them. But then again I love my Taurus TCP 380 so who knows about my opinion :-)
  25. The funny thing is I saw no less than 40 deer on my home this evening. Like they know it's safe now! In all seriousness though, I only took 1 doe this year. And the only one I can blame is myself. I didn't "get" insert the honest word (make) enough time to have a productive season. Yes I could have killed more, but the real reason I didn't still falls back on ME. Either I was waiting on the buck I "knew" was behind the group of does, or that one looks a little small, ect. Whatever my excuse was to myself was just that, an excuse! I feel like I have a great deer population, but all in all, I think the harvest rates are down for one reason. Us
