  1. I'll go against the grain and tell you how much I love my Taurus TCP 380. It's stupidly accurate for a pocket gun, and ammo wise it eats any FMJ I've put thru it, and for carry ammo I run the Glaser Safety Slugs or FMJ because they feed very well in the little guy. I've never run a hollow point thru it, so I can't speak to feeding/liking that bullet. I run a box of shells a month thru it just so I keep proficient with it.
  2. Brown bears, black bears, polar bears...what's next???
  3. It was $25. And I shot less than a box of ammo
  4. Plywood and a deck of stapled to it cards could kill a little time. Set it up far enough away that it's a challenge or say use fixed magnification. Best hand wins...
  5. Looks like it was a good turnout. Stages were good and had a great time. Here is a video of stage 3 http://youtu.be/Hxc7GViIoC8
  6. Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to giving it a go.
  7. Just curious if anyone is going to go? A buddy and I are going it sounds like. I searched and they used to post the COF, but haven't seen it yet. Anyone that has shot an IDPA event here, feel free to chime in and let me know your thoughts.
  8. +1 on the game cam. Helped me bust a poacher last year. I used an old ragged cam that didn't work anymore right on the trail, then set up my good infrared cam off the trail looking at it. Got pics of the @$&* messing with the old cam, as well as carrying a turkey out. Was a good bird, just a shame he took it off the wrong farm.
  9. I'm thinking of going. I've got an M&P 9 I'm looking to swap for an XD9
  10. I go at least once a week (at night) on old hickory starting in a few weeks. Seems more activity when the water temp is at least 70 and the warmer the better where I shoot. I've got a small boat set up for shooting and a few bows available. Pm me and will swap numbers.
  11. I'm Nikon P-223 all the way. Have one on a .223 as well as the P-300blk on my blackout. For the price they hold zero and are nice and clear.
  12. Tomorrow will be easier. Each day will get easier and you will slowly forget it. It's been almost a year and a half for me now, and rarely even have the thought to want to dip. I was at the Gallatin IDPA Classifier the other week and that was the first urge I've had in a long time. Like others have said, some days it doesn't seem like it would take much to pick it back up again, you just have to remain strong and believe it when you tell yourself that quitting is what YOU want for you.
  13. Mines self explanatory. Simply put, "never give up" can apply to any aspect of life and helps me focus on what's important and push thru the crap that we deal with on a daily basis.
  14. Oct 5 2012 for me. Remember it better than my anniversary. Took Wellbutrin to kick the can for me. Now it's just a piece of who I was. Keep strong!
  15. If cell phones were still ringing, they would have to be at or below about 12k. Cell signal is gone by 12k ish ft.
  16. I enjoyed the shoot Saturday. Definitely had no idea on the scoring though as it was my first time. All I knew is it was timed and I needed to put rounds on target. Now that I know the details, I'm going to slow down just a bit and focus on quality hits. Was definitely surprised and happy with myself to see where I finished for my first run ever.
  17. So I've never shot an IDPA match, but am considering it tomorrow. Been all over the web looking and reading about the COF and all the details. Any one able to ball park what time the match would end? I have afternoon plans but would love to come out and give it a go!
  18. I have a bulldog ankle holster and love it. Now granted it only carries a TCP .380, so size wise it's definitely not heavy or bulky. Simple elastic/Velcro band and uncle mikes type pouch on it. I honestly forget I have it on it's that comfortable.
  19. HAD is key here. That is where I got my first look at one. Then decided to buy, and they turned into unicorns. Last I saw Lebanon Gun Shop had one. They keep ammo stocked there too. Last year I Finally found one for less than a million bucks on gunbroker and bought it. I got the TCM/9mm combo. Funny part is I've only shot one mag of 9mm thru it. The TCM round just makes you smile when it goes boom. If anyone is ever in the market for one, I will let them shoot it and that usually sells them. Accuracy is amazing, recoil is obsolete, and like I said, it makes a LOT of noise!
  20. Welcome neighbor.
  21. He was one of my favorites. +1 for King of England!
  22. I ordered mine from Gun Broker, and when all was said and done came out to the same price as I could have bought one a year ago at a local shop. I'm slowly looking now to pick up the commander length model. Been thinking on the new single stack that was brought out at SHOT this year. I love the caliber and the quality of the Rock Island is pretty freaking good!
  23. I'm liking the looks of the Vaquero, but honestly never owned a big bore wheel gun. I have a security six that is nice, but always wanted something bigger to tote during deer season for some odd reason.
  24. The other part of the possible deal is a Ruger SR22. I was considering both in trade for my AR pistol 7". Not sure the values line up though...
  25. I can see it now... Wood Inspection Stations popping up all along I-40... :-0
