  1. They also have the factory GLOCK 33rd pistol mags in stock for the low low price of $189!
  2. Thanks OP, I decided to order one to throw in the closet!
  3. No offense but everything costs more than in 88-89. Taxes, gas, food, electricity etc. it's just the natural order of things. OP, I too try to snag the 1000 round boxes. Cheapest fun you can have these days.
  4. I was on the road all day visiting stores in Memphis. Checked three stores and three more in outlying cities yesterday, finally scored 2-100 boxes of 45 Winchester for $40 per box. Willing to trade for umc 9mm! Pm me
  5. I have one on order through my local shop for $599 for a gen 4. Wife wants it. Who knows when it will come in
  6. I have a friend from Mass that moved down last year, he has told me some crazy stories. Don't worry, we are passing more laws to protect gun rights instead of infringe them.
  7. I shoot a lot of steel targets. The target in question is most definitely Not "hardened" steel. Virtually any steel 3/8" or more is fine for any caliber pistol whether it be 44mag or 22. If you want to shoot it with a rifle, you must have AR 500 hardness steel. It isn't cheap either. A 12" target is usually around $50+. Even with that, an XM855 will put a small dent but nothing like the holes in those pics. PMCs won't do much if anything to an AR 500 target even at closer range. I won't get into the argument of what gun is best for home defense. You need to do your own research and decide what you are comfortable with. But I can say with certainty that I would not want to fire an AR without frangible ammo inside my home, especially I had a family.
  8. I'm not an expert in the law but you appear to have a standard buffer tube that has the ability to affix the adjustable stock to. I've read the ATF can still tag you for an SBR. You might want to get a standard pistol tube that does not have the ability to receive the stock.
  9. Exactly why I carry my g17! I saw a shirt not too long ago that said "kimber is the gun you show your friends, GLOCK is the gun you show your enemy". I thought that was pretty fitting especially for me.
  10. Why would anyone want to make a 26" pistol anyway? Besides, a techincality isnt worth 10+ years in jail.
  11. A daily carry gun will get holster marks eventually not to mention scratches. A weapon is a tool and gets worn like anything else.
  12. Shooting steel is tons more fun than going to a boring range as you mentioned. I actually rebuilt my three target stands this past weekend. I have one target at chest height and one at head height. Two stands have a 12" square chest target and 8" round head and the other one has a 8" round chest and 6" head shot. All targets are 3/8" thick AR500 hardness. So far only my 22-250 has dented them even at 200 yards. I'll be sure to post some pics after our shoot next weekend. Anyone who is interested just send me a pm.
  13. With the lack of harsh winters in TN and the newer polymer tipped rounds that won't clog (Hornady home defense) I say stay center mast. Thankfully I've never been in a situation but with all the adrenaline, possible low light, drawing your weapon etc i don't think you'll have time to decide.
  14. God my eyes must suck. Love my sightron for distance shooting but I can only hit 400 yards with my AR and pmc 55gr s at my 8" hardened steel targets.
  15. Bad lever kicks ass too. Especially great on a long range AR.
  16. Another bump for the mod 4. Huge improvement. Have it on all my ARs. There are other options, some ambi but at double the price. The way an AR functions, I don't see the benefit of an ambi charging handle on an AR.
  17. Hit up http://swfa.com. I had a Nikon buck master on my AR, sold it and got a Nikon monarch which was a noticeable improvement. Swfa got it to me for almost the same price as the Monarch. I put a sightron Siii on it last year and it makes the monarch scopes look cheap! If you hunt around around I think the monarch is the best bang for your buck under 350-400 though.
  18. The shop should be able to ship to an FFL no problem though right?
  19. OP, I'm 6', 170 lbs and I carry a g17 in a crossbreed IWB most days. I find it very comfortable and concealable but if I am wearing a tighter fitting shirt, I know it will print or ill switch to my kimber ultra carry CDP. That thing blends in like nothing! On the crossbreed holster, I found the combat cut very helpful in the draw for little, if any sacrifice in comfort. When carrying a firearm while driving, I mean you do need to realize that it is a hunk of metal in your back. I know it's there on a short trips but people our size don't have much cushion and probably need to remove it for longer trips. Lastly, a quality belt is a key part of effective weapons carrying. Many holster manufacturers also sell belts. I would encourage you to check one out.
  20. Hello all, I've been in the Memphis area about 15 years now. I've been around firearms since I was young but started shooting a little distance in the past few years. I've built a few ARs (RRA 18" with WOA 1:7 barrel, two stage trigger, sightron scope, blah blah blah) and love pistol shooting as well. I shoot a modded G34, carry a G17 and kimber cdp. I'm fortunate enough to have access to my Dad's farm right across the river in Marion so I've built a small range with hardened steel targets to take any rifle or pistol. I have it setup out to 500 yards. Sadly I'm only hitting my 8" steel at 400 tho. 223 drops 45" at 500, I just can't make it right now. If any other memphians want to join me for a weekend shoot, you are welcome to, just shoot me a PM. A few friends and I get together most Sundays to shoot.
