  3. Welcome aboard from Santa Fe.
  4. 10-4  Thanks for the input and the PM offer. R/S hughd
  5.   What kind of groups were you able to get with that 4MOA Dot?
  6.  quickbiscuit, I think that just about does it, don't it! Thank you for the information.   Oh, as Columbo would say:  "Just one more thing" So, the original 1911 Super .38 was chambered for the .38 ACP but it is safe to fire .38  Super in it...
  7. Grayfox54, Thanks for the help and the offer.
  8. Grayfox54, I was recently shown a nice pre-war (1911 roll marked Super .38) and asked to do some research on it.  I will double check, but I do not think the caliber was marked on the barrel. Thus the confusion regarding the Super .38 roll mark and .38 ACP vs .38 Supper ammo. Also,is .38 Super ammo called Super .38 as well? PS check out the link R1100R posted.
  9. Which diameter works best for you?
  10.   Congratulation! You are going to love it.  Warning: They are addictive...
  11.   Yes, and if all of these (1911) marked as such are .38 ACP only...   edit = (1911)
  12. Anyone know the last year Colt manufactured the Super .38? Also, can .38 Super ammo be fired in these? Thanks
  13. I have had good results over the years. Also, initial training is very important. I still have a dog that gives surveying flags a wide berth. (used in training to mark the fence line) That being said, I had one dog that thought the shock was worth the reward. He would cross/yelp/then go on his way. Later he would return home and sit  at the fence line barking waiting for me to come get him.
  14. Makes sense, but I did not know that. I have been using "regular"  Sierra 1310 .224 dia. 45 gr. SPT in my Contender.

  16. My Encore 10" .44 Mag. shoots one hole five shot groups off a sandbag rest with open sights at 25 yards. Hard not to like that kind of accuracy.
  17. Any T.C. fans out there? I don't here much talk of them here on T.G.O....
  18. What they said. For a quick temporary fix rub a bar of soap on the pulley side of the belt. If you do this with the engine running be Very careful!

  20. FYI, Midway review: XS Ghost-Ring Hunting Sight "Warning!! This sight will NOT work with the newer Marlin 336 rifles with a SINGLE screw in the front sight ramp.I contacted XS Sights about this and Marlin changed it without their knowledge and at this time, you will either need to have a gunsmith drill and tap for a new second hole AND also drill the existing hole deeper as Marlin also made the screw hole not quite as deep OR you will need to wait for XS to bring out the new version of their sight that should work with both versions of the Marlin Sight Base (they told me sometime in June). This is a recent change on the Marlin rifles so take your front sight assembly a part before ordering this. The sights are very nice though and I'm going to have a gunsmith drill and tap instead of waiting for the new version (the new version still won't alleviate the issue of Marlin now only using one screw to secure the sight to the rifle)"
  21. Welcome aboard!
  22. Patiently waiting for the Godson. :)
  23. This might help some...   http://news.tn.gov/node/12355     http://www.gameandfishmag.com/hunting/hunting_big-game-hunting_tn_1005_02/      "Covering a combined 298,456 acres, the South Cherokee Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Region III is open for hunting small and large game, including wild hog, black bear, white tail deer, turkey, and grouse." "Polk County is the only one in our area where bears are allowed to be hunted, and only on certain days announced by TWRA between October and December."
