  1. Being an avid biker. I would have to say there are smart riders and not so smart riders. But I can't count the number of times I have been "targeted" by people in auto's, especially when I am obeying the same rules of the road; left turns are especially dangerous. It seems that auto's think all bikers are out to "disrupt" their commute, bikers also feel that most auto's are out to kill them. I suspect the answer is somewhere in the middle; mutual respect. Bikers must set the example, and auto's have to understand the laws of gross tonnage doesn't apply.
  2. I have put a couple of hundred rounds through my sp101 since I changed the springs. It has gone bang every time I pull the trigger.
  3. Changing springs makes a huge difference. If you are so inclined a fluff and buff and shimming the trigger and hammer makes for a very smooth trigger pull.
  4. Welcome to TGO from another Millington resident. Great bunch of folks on here.
  5. She's not over it. She is keeping score. It will come back up.
  6. This is so sad on so many levels.
  7. Thank you for setting the example.
  8. It never ceases to amaze and disturb me at the amount of trash people leave in our parks/public areas. I am the president of the Meeman Shelby Friends of the Forest. I hike the trails in the Park. I run and bike the roads around the park. When I hike I always carry a garbage bag and I always come out of the forest with trash. It just boggles my mind. I am beginning to think public floggings for littering a park should be a legal punishment.
  9. I have used my AR, with Nosler 60gn Partition's to take deer at ranges from 10 to 100 yards. It works well, but shot placement is key. Also I didn't have a great blood trail, but all deer dropped in 20-30 yards.
  10. My easy recipe is to marinate in Dale's steak seasoning. Then dry.
  11. +1. I didn't have to take the course when I moved to Memphis. Not because of my prior service but because I already had an CCW from SC. Luckily Range USA had a HCP update course so I could just get the legal parts. Either way I would have taken the HCP course just to get the legal info. You sure aren't going to learn anything new about shooting.
  12. And the hits keep coming. Charges Dismissed in Officer's Shooting | MyFox Memphis | Fox 13 News
  13. I was worried about that as well. I watched an interview with Armstrong and it appears they had serious doubts about his story from the start. So hopefully no one was unduly detained or harassed.
  14. This just keeps getting better and better..... MPD Sgt. Benjamin's File Reveals Checkered Past | MyFox Memphis | Fox 13 News
  15. Them's the break's.
  16. My back door has a roof over it. :0
  17. Thanks for making me look it up. It is always good to have these things fresh in ones mind.
  18. SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-11-611, is amended by deleting the section in its entirety and substituting instead the following: (a) As used in this section: (1) “Curtilage” means the area surrounding a dwelling that is necessary, convenient and habitually used for the family purposes and for those activities associated with the sanctity of a person’s home. (2) “Dwelling” means a building or conveyance of any kind, including any attached porch, whether the building or conveyance is temporary or permanent, mobile or immobile, which has a roof over it, including a tent, and is designed for or capable of use by people. (3) “Residence” means a dwelling in which a person resides either temporarily or permanently, or is visiting as an invited guest, or any dwelling, building or other appurtenance within the curtilage of such residence. (4) “Vehicle” means any motororized vehicle that is self-propelled and designed for use on public highways to transport people or property. http://tennessee.gov/sos/acts/105/pub/pc0210.pdf
  19. My understanding is the "Porch" is part of the residence/dwelling therefore it the perp would have established intent and if would be legal for the resident to protect themselves.
  20. I haven't seen my local Costco's posted.
  21. Man am out of the loop. My beloved Coasties switched to Sigs in 2006 and I completely missed it. I hope the Navy follows suit. The first thing I bought my wife before we were married was an Model 92 so she could practice. If they change sidearms, I get to get another pistol!
  22. I have two 22lr rifles. One is a TC Classic and the other is a Henry. Both are excellent rifles. The Henry does seem to get more smiles per mile.
  23. I lived there for a while. I don't know what the laws are when moving to SC. You can have your weapon loaded in your car. No open carry. If you hunt they have one of the best processors I have ever seen http://www,cordrays.com. Any idea where you will be living in Charleston?
  24. Well I should never have watched the vid. She is shooting a M9. What a bunch of crap.
