  1. I had one tear down a bird feeder last night. And tonight the wife and I are watching TV and the little bugger climbs up the feeder right next to my living room window. The dogs were going ape. I chased him off, but it didn't take 15 mins before it was back. Lets just say he won't be coming back.
  2. Amen, but we couldn't find enough ammo to put up a good fight.
  3. Could have been bait. I think they need to bring back the Q ships! Wouldn't that be a lovely surprise. Oh scary pirate please don't board us!
  4. I would be surprise if more than a whisper is heard from our government. Don't you know it is our (America's) fault that these poor neglected people (pirates) are forced to use such desperate measures. Personally I think is WAY past time to turn the dogs loose.
  5. Isn't this just the epitome of what a sad state of affairs we are in. There will always be opportunist's in a free market. I think we enthusiasts want to hold ourselves to a higher standard, but the truth is we aren't. Visit any gun board right now and you can find numerous topics just like this. People buy gobs of ammo, and components every chance they get. Brag about it, then get offended if someone points out that they are part of the problem. We are the same people that complained when gas was 4 + a gallon. Getting on our soapboxes and telling everyone we shouldn't stand for it. That we should band together, stop driving, etc... Bottom line is we are a bunch of hypocrites. We want, what we want, when we want it. We are used to getting it, and we will run all over out neighbor to get it. JMHO Flame suit on.
  6. Midway sent me an email to tell me they had primers instock. By the time I got it and looked they were gone.
  7. I got my first bird this morning. I was letting the dogs out before the storm. I heard them gobbling at the end of my property. I am in sweats and a tshirt, so I run in the house grab my shotgun. Throw on a cammo rain suit, and RUN to the end of the property. I am standing by a tree with a call box and my shotgun. I call, they answer! It thunders, they answer. I call they answer. Before I have time to sit I see them running at me. I freeze and they walk behind a tree. I then swing my shotgun down over my forearm, still holding the swawk box. And a second later bang! Holy S@#$ !! I starts storming and I run over pick him up and run to the house. This all takes less that 20 min. Unbelievable.
  8. +1 If you want to learn to shoot pistols, I can't think of a better way to start.
  9. I bought one for my wife. I have to say I wasn't expecting much but so far I am really pleased with this pistol. Accurate, reliable, good price.
  10. I would say it depends on your firearms background. But I took it with my wife and I think it was worth it.
  11. It is black locust burl (whatever that is). I got bored and decided to try making grips. This is my first set. I have a couple more in the works.
  12. What do you think?
  13. Haven't we been through this a couple of times already.
  14. Range USA. They have lots of classes and you can have your fingerprints done there as well.
  15. Only fill those out if you want to be on every mailing list in the world. Or as mentioned above.
  16. Ok I know it has been said many times not to use handloads for PD. But with ammo getting scarce and unbelievably expensive, I keep thinking, WHY? Why does it matter from a legal standpoint. Are there real cases where it has been used against someone, who legally defended themselves with a firearm? How would someone know if I used a reload? It would be very easy to use factory components to assembly ammunition that looked just like factory. I don't want an uberkiller round just something that shoots straight, that I can use for both practice and PD. Thoughts
  17. Very sweet rifle. I have a #1a in 7x57 and love it. My current do all load for my 7mag is 160 Nosler Accubond with R22. It is accurate in my Encore.

I've got about 4 inches in the yard. Dogs love it. I could do without it.
  19. I sold my soul to her a long time ago.
  20. It is a DW CBOB in .45acp. And I am in LOVE. I took it to the range yesterday and in ran like a top. I tried different mags and three different handloads as well as some +p 200grn Speer gold dots. No problems at all. I really wasn't planning to buy this but my wife wanted a 45. She has shot the Taurus PT145 and liked it, so I went looking. I wanted her to get a 1911 so I was looking in the case and there it was, CBOB. I made a fatal mistake and asked to hold it. It is tight, fit and finish are excellent. So long story short, she got the Taurus and I got the DW. Very fair, I think.
  21. I have the best wife in the whole wide world.
  22. + 1 on range usa. They have a nice wilson combat for rent. They also have a kimber or springfield, can't remember which. Don't rent it unless it has been cleaned, or it will jamb. If mine wasn't in pieces being refinished I would let you shoot it.

  24. Sorry, I was in a hurry and didn't proof read.
  25. Subject: Gun Law Update by Alan Korwin, Democrats have already leaked a gun-ban list. Forward or send to every gun owner you know.... Gun Law Update by Alan Korwin, Author Gun Laws of America Jan. 5, 2008 Gun-ban list proposed. Slipping below the radar (or under the short-term memory cap), the Democrats have already leaked a gun-ban list, even under the Bush administration when they knew full well it had no chance of passage (HR 1022, 110th Congress) It serves as a framework for the new list the Brady's plan to introduce shortly. I have an outline of the Brady's current plans and targets of opportunity, It's horrific. They're going after the courts, regulatory agencies, firearms dealers and statutes in an all out effort to restrict we the people. They've made little mention of criminals. Now more than ever, attention to the entire Bill of Rights is critical. Gun bans will impact our freedoms under search and seizure, due process, confiscated property, states' rights, free speech, right to assemble and more, in addition to the Second Amendment. The Democrats current gun-ban-list proposal (final list will be worse): Rifles (or copies or duplicates): M1 Carbine, Sturm Ruger Mini-14, AR-15, Bushmaster XM15, Armalite M15, AR-10, Thompson 1927, Thompson M1; AK, AKM, AKS, AK-47, AK-74, ARM, MAK90, NHM 90, NHM 91, SA 85, SA 93, VEPR; Olympic Arms PCR; AR70, Calico Liberty, Dragunov SVD Sniper Rifle or Dragunov SVU, Fabrique National FN/FAL, FN/LAR,or FNC, Hi-Point20Carbine, HK-91, HK-93, HK-94, HK-PSG-1, Thompson 1927 Commando, Kel-Tec Sub Rifle; Saiga, SAR-8, SAR-4800, SKS with detachable magazine, SLG 95, SLR 95 or 96, Steyr AU, Tavor, Uzi, Galil and Uzi Sporter, Galil Sporter, or Galil Sniper Rifle ( Galatz ). Pistols (or copies or duplicates): Calico M-110, MAC-10, MAC-11, or MPA3, Olympic Arms OA, TEC-9, TEC-DC9, TEC-22 Scorpion, or AB-10, Uzi. Shotguns (or copies or duplicates): Armscor 30 BG, SPAS 12 or LAW 12, Striker 12, Streetsweeper. Catch-all category (for anything missed or new designs): A semiautomatic rifle that accepts a detachable magazine and has: (i) a folding or telescoping stock, (ii) a threaded barrel, (iii) a pistol grip (which includes ANYTHING that can serve as a grip, see below), (iv) a forward grip; or a barrel shroud. Any semiautomatic rifle with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds (except tubular magazine .22 rimfire rifles). A semiautomatic pistol that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine, and has: (i) a second pistol grip, (ii) a threaded barrel, (iii) a barrel shroud or (iv) can accept a detachable magazine outside of the pistol grip, and (v) a semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds. A semiautomatic shotgun with: (i) a folding or telescoping stock, (ii) a pistol grip (see definition below), (iii) the ability to accept a detachable magazine or a fixed magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds, and (iv) a shotgun with a revolving cylinder. Frames or receivers for the above are included, along with conversion kits. Attorney General gets carte blanche to ban guns at will: Under the proposal, the U.S. Attorney General can add any "semiautomaticrifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General." Note that Obama's pick for this office (Eric Holder, confirmation hearing set for Jan. 15) wrote a brief in the Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home. In making this determination, the bill says, "thereshall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event." In plain English this means that ANY firearm ever obtained by federal officers or the military is not suitable for the public. The last part is particularly clever, stating that a firearm doesn't have a sporting purpose just because it can be used for sporting purpose -- is that devious or what? And of course, "sporting purpose" is a rights infringement with no constitutional or historical support whatsoever, invented by domestic enemies of the right to keep and bear arms to further their cause of disarming the innocent. Respectfully submitted, Alan Korwin, Author Gun Laws of America http://www.gunlaws.com/gloa.htm Forward or send to every gun owner you know.....
