  1. If someone was in front of you running (Zmans own words) what technique would yo use to catch him? Run? Chase? Crawl? Pursue? Think about? Phone a friend? What did Zman do to see, catch TM?   Just curious...   DS
  2. I don't know what his high school dress code is, but here, high schoolers cannot wear sleevless tee shirts exposing their armpits. I think that may have had more to do with it than it being the NRA logo on it. Sometimes it's best to just comply (remove the shirt) then take up the fight at a later date.   We'll see how this turns out...   DS
  3. This is probably true!    DS
  4. What he said^^ But welcome!   DS
  5. Yep, Zman waived his right to a "stand your ground" hearing. Which brings up another question, can the defense bring that into play at a later date, or is "stand your ground" out of the equation now?   DS
  6. What he said^^^  I would hope it wouldn't!   DS
  7. Sorry Sir, I am officially and fully retired as of now! Will be opening my own shop back up, and chill for awhile! That's how I can spend so much time on the internet. No worries here man!   DS
  8. Erik; I went back through this thread to find your question and I didn't see it. I'd be happy to answer it for you. What was it?   DS
  9. Isn't this all about our opinions and seeking info? Well, at least I thought it was...and I honestly thought of you as enough of a professional that you could comment a little better than that. Dave S
  10. I'm reading news reports also. Very confusing I know. I thought you had some good up to date things worth reading. Maybe Andrew will keep this thing in perspective.   DS
  11. I think I'm reading the same as you, not sure though. Please send me the link to your info so I can follow along. Honestly! My bad...I'm finding out he Wasn't the Captain, as his neighbor was...dang this is getting confusing! Common, hook me up with your sources of info! Seriously!   DS
  12. All the reports I can find stated he was the only member of the neighborhood watch and made himself the Watch Captain. If you have other information, please share it as I can't find it. I'd be interested in seeing that. I don't remember for sure, but I believe (you'll tell me if I'm wrong) his position as "Captain" was self appointed.   If Zman is totally justified in using deadly force, my hat is off him for using good judgement. My OPINION is, he did not!   Maybe you or Andrew can voice your OPINIONS on or if, the outcome of this trial will have any effect on any of us if we are (and I hope not) ever involved in a self defense shooting?   DS
  13. I never did agree that the state had grounds for murder 2. I think a lessor charge may come out of this.   DS
  14. Thanks for your opinion on this case. I think the Prosecutor is going to RIP his statements apart line by line. I was just curious on that particular part..Thanks again.   DS
  15. Andrew.....I think it's really great that you are posting here. I do however have a question for you. Here is page two of Zman's statement to police;   . . . to a darkened area of the sidewalk, as the dispatcher was asking me for an exact location the suspect emerged from the darkness and circled my vehicle.  I could not hear if he said anything.  The suspect once again disappeared between the back of some houses.  The dispatcher once again asked me for my exact location.  I could not remember the name of the street, so I got out of my car to look for a street sign.  The dispatcher asked me for a description and the direction the suspect went.  I told the dispatcher I did not know but I was out of my vehicle looking for a stret sign and the direction the suspect went.  The dispatcher told me not to follow the suspect & that an officer was in route (sic).  As I headed back to my vehicle the suspect said “You got a problem,” I said “No.”  The suspect said, “you do now.”  As I looked . . .       TM was shot on a sidewalk that runs down the back between two rows of town houses and there are no street signs there that I can see, and no where near Zman's vehicle. Did he "follow" TM down the side walk to see which way he went, maybe? Apparently Zman "knew" which way TM went?   What is your OPINION on this statement and the facts of the case? Just curious...   DS
  16. Happy Father's Day Shaun!   DS

  20. Really Robert?   Dave S
  21. I really don't have any rules. I welcome everyone and want everyone to be comfortable and enjoy their ride. My work vehicle is a different story.   Dave S
  22. I carry a very large brain and plenty of smarts....cheaper than ammo! Except when I'm at work...   Dave S
  23. But he had the strength and stamina to wrestle TM's arms and keep him from getting his gun, yet have the mindset (was he not dazed, shocked or anything, right?) to draw his gun and shoot the kid? According to Zman, (yes I seen the pictures, we are currently using them as training aids) he was slugged in the face, received a brain numbing punch, then said TM got on top of him and beat his head off the sidewalk multiple times. Yet he had the strength to fight to keep his gun, but could roll 140 pounds off him? I don't buy it! And by the way he wasn't "bleeding out".   If someone punches me, my first instinct is to punch back. I'm not going to get pommeled and not get a lick in. Then when all else fails.....   Dave S
