  1. The cops in this video, were they called out or just happen by? If they just happened by, MO cops walk the beat with M-4's? Something's amiss here. If they were called out, then the cop had every right to run their ID's. He did not have the right to be an ass though. I guess this will never sink in to some folks. I don't believe for one minute that this video was a Terry stop.   DaveS
  2. So in other words, cops do not have to check out complaints about a person carrying a gun? I'd like to see that happen!   DaveS
  3. Are convicted felons permitted to carry in MO? How is an officer supposed to know, if he/she doesn't ID the person with the gun. Please answer that for me? That's my whole point. ID's have to be checked and run through the system. No way around it.   DaveS
  4. So many people think that because they aren't actively committing  a crime (robbery ect), LE has no right to ID them. Everyone that carries unfortunately is not an honest law biding citizen. Unless they are ID'd and their license ran, no one will know if they are legally carrying or not, or is a convicted felon, or otherwise not permitted to have a gun. That's been my argument for years Dave. All I have to say is, if you don't want stopped and ID'd, leave your gun at home!   DaveS
  5. Congrats to the young hunter on bagging her first deer. Also congrats Dad on giving her an education of a lifetime. You're a happy Dad, and you should be!   DaveS
  6. Wouldn't you think that carrying a gun would be "probable cause" to get ID'd? I think it is if a citizen filed a complaint.   DaveS
  7. If you properly clear and safety a weapon no matter what caliber...it's difficult to leave a round in the chamber. Just saying.....   DaveS
  8. I agree that the Cop was a jerk. I've stated that in earlier posts. I just can't get over that everyone (so it seems) wants to video the cops. Well, on the other hand, we record them on dash cam so I guess it's turn-a-bouts fair play.   DaveS
  9. Maybe they arrested the wrong persons. No way those fine upstanding young citizens did that to that elderly man!   DaveS
  10. At first, I thought the thing was some sort of paintball or airsoft gun. If it's a .22, could it be a .22 Magazine in there? It's not a very good picture in my opinion.   DaveS
  11. Those are good questions Dave. I read one story where the serial numbers were obscured by paint, and one where they were scratched. Who knows? Typical reporting I guess. The Port Authority did claim one had a round in the chamber.   He checked them in through "baggage check" as you said. Is inspecting the contents a normal thing to do, or do those cases go through xray?   DaveS
  12. Maybe because your average citizen who encounters LEO isn't prepared with 2 or 3 friends with video recording devices as these girls where. It seems they were waiting for an encounter with LE. Had it been me investigating, those folks with phones/cameras might had gotten the same reaction from me too. There was no reason in the world for them to film that officer. They started filming him the second he walked in.There's a good chance he wouldn't have acted as he did if the "cameras weren't rolling". He may have been covering his own azz by his actions.   I wish that every one of you who complain about LE would walk in their shoes for just one day! Because one day is all it's going to take for you to see the other side of the stories.   DaveS
  13. I do re-read my post prior to "hitting the button". I usually type what I mean, and mean what I type, just so you know. Nothing against any veteran, active soldier or wanna be's.  ;)   DaveS
  14. Let's try this; The guy is a DUMMY for what he did, and because he's from New York, 23 years of age, and living in this area, he is probably Military (which he is). I'm a proud veteran of the Army and in particular, the 101st ABN Div., and as every Veteran knows, every unit has at least one Dummy!   DaveS
  15. I really do get out quite a lot. This is TN not GA. Just saying...   Since I really live in TN (I've done my time in GA) I'm more concerned about my rights here and how it effects me. Not GA, MO, AK, AL or any other place for that matter. But right here, where signs go up daily. But in general, us gun owners are losing ground.   DaveS
  16. I might get my Government retirement check.   DaveS
  17. But at the same time, how about doing me a favor and not push your rights to the point that it may cause me to lose mine! As long as people push the issue with firearms as some are doing, there is a good chance that laws will get tighter and not more lax. I don't need, nor do I want their help! Laws governing firearms is not going to get better. Those days are long gone. Let's go on now and put a "gunbuster" on every building in the state. That's where it's going!   DaveS
  18.       BINGO! Military.   DaveS
  19. Most likely stationed here at Fort Campbell. I could be wrong though. But that's my thinking.   DaveS
  20. Leave it to some dummy to try this. Most likely Military. It sucks for him I guess! I'm shamed that he's from Clarksville.   http://www.wkrn.com/story/23797024/police-tenn-man-had-loaded-rifle-in-bag-at-jfk   DaveS
  21. Very well said Sir!   DaveS
  22. I fear that anyone walking through Walmart with an AK or AR is going to invoke panic whether it's legal or not! This country is not the same as it was 10 to 20 years ago. OC'ing rifles will never happen, as we gun owners have made sure of that!   You think "Gun Buster" signs are going up at an alarming rate now? If they legalize Rifle carry, they'll go up so fast it'll make your head spin! Like the old saying goes; "be careful what you wish for".   DaveS
  23. Well put! We all cry when a cop walks up to an armed person and asks for "papers", yet now we want it even more. I'm missing something some where. The worst mistake TN ever made was allowing "open carry". Just my opinion is all.   I voted NO.   DaveS
  24. Mike, I will take that as good solid advice!   DaveS
