But my question to you Sir; why did you leave your ID in your car, but brought your recorder on a walk instead? Was it for a possible police encounter? Were the deer mating and you wanted it recorded? Were the birds singing? Do you always bring a recorder on your walks? I don't get it. Why? I'm sorry Sir, but I smell a rat. You may be right, and I applaud you for that. I've been wrong before, been right a few times...but hey, I'm up to a challenge! But a rat smells like a rat. The recorder part really bugs me. DaveS

And those that do, always have a recording device going because they want a confrontation. And that's all they do it for is for 10 minutes of fame on you tube! In my opinion, if you carry a shotgun or AR to a coffee shop, be ready for the cops! DaveS

Another case of refusing to cooperate and giving the Officers a rash of crap! Answer the questions and get on with your life. Same old crap, Cop Fishing! DaveS

I guess it worked out for him, huh? It seems like here lately that that's a little game everyone wants to play. Refuse to show ID, refuse to answer LEO's questions and start the cameras rolling! Some folks think they'll just drop dead if they had a good encounter with LE. And at the same time, cry that their rights are being violated if the LEO was video taping them for his protection. What's good for one is good for the other right? I just don't agree with all this damn recording of LEO's. Find another hobby like recording wildlife or something. DaveS

Maybe this has been answered already, if so...forgive me. Why would this dude purposely leave his ID in his car, but bring a "recorder" as that's what I understand. I suspect he was wanting a confrontation. Just my two cents. If not, why not leave the recorder and bring the ID? DaveS

Looks like my stunt with the muzzleloader yesterday. I heard they weren't that good to eat. DaveS

You're good. Enjoy your find. A little bleach will really whiten them up if not so already. DaveS

Heading to the woods...by myself...again....ho hum. DaveS

A Veterans day message from me, and a request from Veterans.

Nice post! DaveS -
I missed a damn nice buck this morning. However, there is a gravely wounded three inch sapling that ran out in front of my bullet and sacrificed itself for the buck. Another day.... DaveS

Ron, during Muzzleloader season where you are allowed 3 deer a day and only one can be antlered it's a non issue on rack size. By law, it has to have antlers 3 inches or longer to count as a buck. If they aren't 3 inches long it's considered antlerless. Right now don't worry about it being a young buck or doe. Both are legal for you to take. Just go in the woods my friend, relax, enjoy life and get your self a deer. Young buck, old buck, young doe or old doe.....only you can decide which will make you happy. A lot of folks say never shoot young bucks. It doesn't bother me to. I passed on a little spike yesterday and felt pretty good about it. That spike may be a trophy for you though. Just go enjoy your hunt. Just a note: During the regular gun season, a Type 94 special season/WMA permit is required to take "Antlerless" deer unless your hunting your own land. DaveS

What was you going to do? Whoop'em with a switch? DaveS

It also falls under illegally transporting illegal wildlife across state lines. I think there was a post on here about a guy in Tennessee that got busted under the Lacy Act for shooting a Mule Deer and bringing it in state without the proper hunt tags. DaveS

Even though I didn't tag a deer this morning, it was one of my finest mornings I've had in the woods in many years. It started off with a little spike buck and a couple does milling around right at shooting light. The little buck was the only one that gave me a shot but I chose to let him live another day. I felt pretty good about that. Squirrels were very busy this morning putting away their winter stores and a couple of chipmunks got in a little action. Also right at daylight, I was serenaded to three hoot owls that wanted to "laugh" at the whole world. About then, two distant Coyotes announced their presence in the deer woods. At this point in time I cared very little about killing a deer. I was just amazed at God's work and the blessing I have to had experienced it. What an awesome world we live in! I hope I'm equally entertained tomorrow. DaveS

Brother, is that a new deer hunt strategy? Wind wasn't bad here this morning, but about noon, it was leaning the treetops over. DaveS

He says "many of the snakes we use isn't ours, they come from other places". Lacy Act? If so, he's in deep soup! I'll research it. DaveS

It is illegal in Tennessee to keep as pets any poisonous snake whether bought or caught wild. Period. No exception! DaveS

I think I will post pics here too. Just to keep up with it. DaveS

I like a bucket with "blow off" tube for primary (sometimes a carboy) and then put the airlock on the secondary. Most anything will work. You have a very active fermentation to say the least! DaveS

Congrats Hozzie! That buck should be some good eating! DaveS

While I was in my primary stand this morning, this dude visits my secondary stand. My trail cam got him! I guess I'll hunt my Secondary in the morning. Oh well fellas that's how it goes! DaveS
