  1. That's a nice doe! Dave
  2.     I decided yesterday to sit it out today. My Son and SIL may go, not sure though. Of course, they're a lot younger and can take this cold better than me. I'll wait till that wind gets out of this part of the country. Pretty windy here too!   Dave
  3. You're right...that's what its all about!   Dave
  4. Sitting in class watching the news report on TV, and I remember my teacher crying.   DaveS
  5. Well said!   Dave
  6. I agree. I have friends that hunt with mega mags (not with me they don't) and destroy a lot of meat when shooting deer. In my opinion (don't beat me up guys) it's just not needed on Whitetail Deer!   Dave
  7. Now we're talking, I love spicey breakfast sausage. Give me a bit to get me another good deer and get some make.   Dave
  8. JWC; it's raw out there today. My Son and SIL went back out and my Son just sent me a picture of a big doe he just got. So I guess they're moving right now.   Dave
  9. I shot an 8 pointer a few years ago with a .35 Rem, 200 grain soft nose and had to trail the buck about 60 yards. Field dressing shown the deer had it's heart blown apart by the bullet. These animals are amazing when hit! But yes, it happens.   Dave
  10. I thought I'd seen that story before. Couldn't remember though.   Dave
  11. Next big deer I get I'm going to make a lot of sausage. I won't sell it to you, I'll give you some. What do you have in mind for "spicy venison sausage"?   Dave
  12. Anytime you can get in the woods is a good time to get in the woods!   Dave
  13. Hope you get in the woods soon!   Dave
  14. Oh yeah. I like the smaller does.   DaveS
  15. Darn man, that sucks!   Dave
  16. Nah...I like little racks! Actually, the smaller racks make the coolest decorations!   Dave
  17. I bought a bottle of A-1 Chicago style marinade and steak sauce. I will try it to season jerkey in the near future. That stuff is dynamite on steaks and chops. Might be worth a try Reed.   Dave
  18. Can't you get you a Doe with a Type 94 permit?   Dave
  19. I'm thinning does right now. I'll settle down and hunt me up a buck in a few days. Want a couple in the freezer first.   DaveS
  20. That wind ate me alive! I told my SIL and my Son via text I was climbing down at 9 because I was cold and miserable. At 8:58 a doe walked within 25 yards of my stand and I put her down for a dirt nap. Was out of my stand by nine! DaveS
  21. I got another little meat doe for the freezer, now me and "Ol' Git Some" can hunt quality deer now.   DaveS
  22. Nice big doe!!! Congrats! DaveS
  23. Same to ya Slappy!   DaveS
  24. Good info Razz!   DaveS
  25. Each WMA has a set of regs. I've never heard of that. Wow.   Dave
