All those deer will be on the news too when they have to be euthanized because they no longer fear humans. Just saying... Dave

That's a good safety point that I often overlook. Thanks for the reminder. I just came in from rescuing our pet goose, and a limb came down in the back yard while I was out there. That's bad business folks! Dave -

I load my pictures to photobucket and edit and resize as desired. click apply and save at the top right of the photobucket page. Then scroll down a bit and you'll find a little box on the right hand side of the page. The box says LINKS TO SHARE PHOTO. Click on the little box to the right of "DIRECT". If you did it right it will highlight yellow and say "copied". Come over here and open up your posting dialog box. Look in your reply box at the menu at the top of the box and you will see a little icon that looks like a picture frame. Click it. A box will open up and right click in the box and when a little window appears click paste then OK...bingo its done. Maybe someone else can chime in with better instructions or a short cut. Dave -

I'm going to do my best to get out in the morning on this the last day of deer season. I may get out one more time and take my little Grandson out on the youth hunt. Just because deer season is over is no reason not to stay in touch here in the hunting threads. It's been fun guys! Dave -
Then one I went to, I believe was Nolensville Rd. That's been a few years ago. Dave

I wish I could hear how they explained that. I know how I feel about it. The group I was with thought it was awesome! Dave

Well, here's what I did; While attending my Civil War Artillery units meeting today and while sitting in the dinning room of a local restaurant , I observed an elderly couple come in the door and sit down. The gentleman was wearing a black ball cap that said "WWII Veteran" and the word "Army", and it was adorned with a few award ribbons and a pair of Airborne Jump Wings and a 101st Screaming eagle pin. Him and his wife ate Schnitzel dinners and had coffee. I went up to the counter to pay for my lunch and I asked the waitress for their bill. She gave me a strange look and laid it on the counter. I handed her my card and said "Tell them their dinner is took care of and his service during WWII is greatly appreciated". Their lunch cost me $32 and some change but so what. I would have paid for it no matter what it cost. Me and a couple friends watched as the waitress went over to their table a little bit later and bent down to speak to the elderly couple, I'm guessing to explain that someone paid for their meal. He briefly look around the room (we were about 12 feet away) and it appeared that he was wiping his eyes. Paying it forward is done! Airborne! Dave

I think this new Law passed in Texas is pretty cool, and maybe Tennessee should follow suit. http://www.reuters.com/article/2007/03/27/us-texas-deadlyforce-idUSN2721289620070327 Dave

Yep, look what happened to that young Bull Elk in East Tennessee with that photographer. It was the photographer that needed euthanized, not that young elk. He didn't know no darn better. Dave

I bought some "Pepper Beer" at the one in Nashville a few years ago and that was one big mistake! Darn stuff was so hot, I couldn't drink it! Wound up pouring it all out. Dave

That's a pretty awesome video of the lady feeding those mule deer, but a dangerous situation for her. Sad part is if one of those Bucks attack that lady (for what ever reason) then the fish and wildlife folks will have to come out and euthanize those deer. If she feels the need to feed them, do so away from her house. Place a feeder out in an area so you can watch them and enjoy. She really isn't doing those deer a favor at all. Cool video TDR and thanks for posting it. I enjoyed watching it. Dave

I was thinking that, or one of our many military veteran amputees that frequent the local businesses. I have to pick the right person and then feel good about it. Dave

Nothing other than I was describing the person who was showing an act of kindess to someone. If she was green I would have said that too. Dave

Y'all ain't even right....just saying. Heater? Seriously? What time we going? Dave -
The streams were closed due to deer hunting, and I believe they are open now. There are some real nice holdovers to be had in both Brown and Rainbow Trout. I like ultralight spinning tackle with a tiny roostertail spinner. When fly fishing, I've had good luck with a floating black ant and a tiny sinking scud. If you tie your own, those are pretty easy to tie up. I highly recommend waders as those spring fed streams can get plenty cold even in hot weather. The following items are required to trout fish on post; TN Fishing Permit, TN Trout Stamp, Fort Campbell Fishing Permit and an area assignment which is required for each trip. This late in the year I would just wait until March 1st to get your stuff and go. That's when the new permits come out and you'll save yourself a bunch of money by waiting. During heavy rains the streams will flood and get nasty, but settle down real quick. The fish don't leave, they just dig in and hold tight behind every rock available. Good Luck and I'll see you on the stream! Welcome to TGO, and enjoy your stay here! Dave
