ACTION ALERT- Guns In Parks Bill Up For A Vote!!!
DaveS replied to chrisw670's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It could pass 50,000 times and I guarantee the Cities will still have say so in allowing guns in their parks. Mark my word folks! Dave -
It's your house Sir, did YOU check? Glad you guys are OK, but it could have had a much worse end. Gun safety isn't just one persons responsibility, it's everyone's!!! Dave

Four holes? Four walls one shot? One wall four shots? Whose rifle, yours? Seems you need new friends and learn a little firearms responsibility. No excuse!!! Dave

Primer type for Knight muzzleloader?
DaveS replied to gunrat's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
You should be able to inspect the breech and determine primer type. Most that I've seen that took disc had a type of nipple on the breech plug similar to a plug that took percussion caps. A breech plug that holds 209 shotgun primers will look like it has a 1/4 inch hole drilled in the end. If the hole is threaded then it takes a nipple for number 11 size caps or the bigger musket caps. I'm not much help when it comes to Knight Muzzleloaders. I would go back and inspect the gun again. It seems to me there has to be some info on the barrel somewhere! Keep us updated! Dave -
Those are my kind of people, thanks for sharing! Dave

So I take it you mix it all together, put in muffin tins and cook? I seen the pic on FB and it looks AWESOME!! Dave

Unloading a Muzzleloader without firing it

I load mine the day before ML season and unload days or weeks afterwards (a year this time around) with no problems. Dave -

So you want to see a picture of some of the Walmart problem?
DaveS replied to hardknox00001's topic in General Chat
I just got back from my local Walmart and a sign on the ammo case (which was just about empty) says, "For the fairness of all our customers, ammunition purchases are limited to two boxes per person per day." Well, I can't protest that I guess! Dave -

Apalachicola Bay is where I cut my teeth on Salt water fishing. Cast some bait around an Oyster bed and hold on!!! I used to have a beach house on St. George Island (Pine St.) before Ivan destroyed it. I never rebuilt back, for obvious reasons I guess. I love the East Point and St. George area! The hog in that Picture was taken at Crawfordville not far from Apalachicola. I was hunting private land on the St. Marks Refuge boundary. One beautiful place Brother!! Dave -

Unloading a Muzzleloader without firing it
DaveS replied to rugerla1's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I have shot them after they stayed loaded well over a year, but publically, pull the breach plug and ram it out. If not, use a worm on the rammer and pull the ball. Or......tie the gun to a concrete block and fire it from a distance with cord. I've not ever had a problem shooting MINE after extended periods of time. Dave -
It doesn't take RPG's or shoulder smashing magnum rounds to bring a hog down. I have taken many of them with Bow, Muzzleloader, 5.56, 12ga slug and 7mm/08. There are members here that have taken them with .22 Mag. Hit their neck with just about anything and they'll fall down and die. I know a Federal Game Warden that shot a wild boar from his truck with a 7mm Mag. Roughly a 60 yard shot, hit the pig rig behind the shoulder and the bullet lodged in the almost 3 inch thick armor plating on the off side and never exited the pig! He ran about 40 yards before going down. Dave

There are a couple of land owners here that will put you on their list for 500 to 1000 dollars a year. Go for it! When TWRA changed the laws on hog hunting, many land owners saw dollar signs and a way to make money from hunters wanting to hog hunt. I will promise you (I'm not going to tell you how I know) that these landowners hog programs have stepped up two fold for the sake of keeping 10 or more people on a list at 500 a pop, just to hunt hogs. Win win for mr. farmer. The other problem we have with the pig regulations here, I can take you to a WMA in a certain county in this state (one closed to pig hunting) right now and show you pigs. I sat in my tree stand numerous times hunting this WMA and watched pigs feeding. Guess what? I couldn't shoot them. So yes, TWRA's pig plan is working. First of all welcome to TGO! Always glad to have new blood here. Just a word of advice here; unless you are on a landowners list to pig hunt, and exempted by TWRA to do so...let lose of the PVS 14's and green lumen lights, because they are not legal and will get you locked up. Tennessee is NOT a pig hunting friendly state! Dave

TGO'rs living in and around Franklin need to be vigilant about what's going on around you. Please keep your valuables put up and safe. Keep your Gun handy and sleep with one eye open! http://www.wkrn.com/story/24547365/1-home-10-vehicles-burglarized-in-franklin-neighborhood Dave

I have to ask myself, when will it ever end? It's getting pretty old ya know. Dave

Glad to hear that Tanker, great news! I mentioned on another thread that I had a similar problem as yours but mine was diagnosed as ruptured disc in my neck. After surgery to repair those disc, I have not had a single problem! Dave

7mm/08 120 grain in the neck behind the ear. That round dropped him to the ground and he kicked his legs a time or two and that was it! Slappy; I plan on moving to Florida this year and I want to get set up so I can invite y'all down for some Florida Hog hunting! I hope it all works out. By the way, hog hunting in Florida on private land is open 24/7 and it's free! Dave -
