  1. In an actual survival situation, if it's within 30 yards, my .45 ACP and/or .357 would be better suited than a "dart gun".
  2. 1. Allow centerfire rifle use at ALL times of the year for Coyote. 2. DO NOT allow night hunting for any species. 3. Relaxe the regulations on Feral Hog (Sus Scrofa ). 4. Stop closing deer hunting and small game hunting on WMA's when Duck season starts. 5. Stop allowing hunting on certain days on WMA's. Some people work and the WMA's are closed on their off days. 6. I could go on and on and on and on..........
  3. I agree Troll. You all are right. But until we get the wildlife folks to "lighten up", there's not much we can do! TWRA will be seeking "our" imput this summer. We need to write them our sujestions in hope of changes. Hogs and Yotes are taking over public land, but the rules make it so restrictive, that no one wants to hunt them. Changes are needed!
  4. I talked to a Game Warden friend of mine about the night hunting subject. He said it's more about SAFETY than anything else. He says there is enough problems now when the "lights are on", they'd just get worse with the "lights off".
  5. I'll have to research the page and all, but I beleive there is a statement in the guide that says you "may not" use spotlights or any artificial lighting devices, nightvision scopes ect, ect to locate and/or harvest game. I'll research it.
  6. OK folks....I feel really good about walking into a gas station in "Bubba's" neighborhood at "O-dark thirty" on my way hunting. Walk in wearing camo and you get the usual "you fellers seen any'thang" (knowing if I did It would have been at night)? When wearing camo, they accept you into their clan, chew and all. It don't even have to fit or be in good shape. Any pattern works for them, even torn and tobacco stained. It matters not. The one back roads place I stop in, we call "The Redneck Riviera" Bubba is alive and well. As long as you wear camo going in you're ok. Even the "she dragon" behind the counter wears camo. I would be willing to risk my life to walk in the joint wearing some of that tropical pattern clothes. Bubba would s*** his self. But on a serious note, I think any pattern of any color would work in the woods. It's about scent control and MOVEMENT! Anything outside of "camouflage" is called "Ghettoflage".
  7. Jimmy Walker is located up near hilltop. Jimmy has been cutting up deer for many years. I didn't sujest him, because I really didn't know Jim was still in business.
  8. Troll....you ain't right! lol I wear old army bdu's. Don't want to throw down the bones for the new modern latest greatest pattern. Just me...
  9. No. I do my own, but a time or two I wanted a proccesor here to do one, they were always too busy. I've heard several complaints on the proccesors here lately, that I will not sujest one. Just look in the Clarksville phone book. There are a couple listed.
  10. Cornbread, Biscuits and Cherry Cobbler cooked in a dutch oven over/under coals is hard to beat! I'm in for a hog hunt too!
  11. Just my opinion only...go for skwerl and wabbits!
  12. I'm also a great cook, and love CAMPFIRE cooking! A camping trip for hogs would be AWESOME!
  13. I feel your pain Rob. I think it runs in cycles. One year you see a ton of them, and the next, hardly any. This is the first year that Does hardly ever showed themselves, while seeing so many bucks was very nerve racking! It all runs in cycles!!!
  14. I would like to get together with a couple of good hunters and make a trip for camping/hog hunting. I know there are WMAs out in east TN but would be interested in hunting with someone who knows the areas. There are a bunch of nice hogs around here, but not allowed to hunt them.
  15. We passed up several nice bucks this year. By doing this, I think we kicked our selves in the butt, because I believe they may have been taken on other propertys. I feel at this moment, that for a QDM program to work, you have to get the surrounding property owners to participate. That's not going to happen! One hundred and eighty seven acres is alot of land, but to a deer, it's nothing and they know no bounderies. I feel now the deer we passed on should have been taken when we had the chance. It's about 50/50 if they survived the season for next year! We're going to develop the property this year with food plots. Maybe that way we can hold the deer in the area.
  16. Nice pictures!
  17. I used to do alot of trapping, but the liability issues caused me to stop. I mostly trapped Beaver, Mink and Muskrat. I loved it! Just something about wading a creek this time of year that makes ya shutter!
  18. Nice fox 101. "Possum on the half-shell" is starting to show up in Montgomery county too.
  19. Got me some "Nut Munchers" this morning. Squirrel and Dumplings are on the menu in the near future!
  20. Just the other day, I seen my first covey in over 2 years. They're on our private property and we hope the propagate!
  21. Will be waiting on your call! Dogs are rearing to go!
  22. Awesome whiskey! JG said ya got a doe today. No details though! Congrats on the babies...look just like ya! (jk)....call me about some rabbit hunting. Gonna start hitting them hard!
  23. Hogs are considered pests in most parts of the state. However, it seems they have more rules on them than whitetail deer!
  24. LOL Merry Christmas!
  25. I love squirrel!
