  1. I'm interested. Timing will be everything though.
  2. I'm going to try every recipe on this page! "Bronker's" stew is at the top of the list. Then it's chili and pies all the way!
  3. Rob, you are RIGHT ON with those Newcastle Brown Ales! Top of the line stuff right there! A good "Pub Bitter" is hard to beat! I'm glad I'm a "Home Brewer"! Pub Bitter served at "cellar" temperature...Can't be beat no where!
  4. That's pretty funny....my little grandson thought mine would float! They didn't by the way....
  5. No new recipes? Dang, ya'll slack'n up! I guess I need to get my notebook out and post some more. Keep this thread going!
  6. I really didn't know how well I would like an ATV, but with a bad back and legs (too many years as a Firefighter) it has really been worth every dollar spent on it! They are well worth it!
  7. As of this year, the hunting of Feral Hogs/Wild Boar is illegal in the state of Tennessee. The only exceptions is one of two WMA's out in the eastern part of the state, someone with private property who would be willing to put you on a list, or any number of hunting reserves. That's it!
  8. I don't know of anyone, but it sure sounds like a good idea for your father.
  9. Did ya get it mounted?
  10. I agree!
  11. AWESOME my man! Can't beat that "first bear". Beautiful mounts indeed!
  12. I'm fond of a 240 grain jacketed soft nose. I use the theory that if the deer is in range for a bow, it's in range for a .44 mag. This particular round does well for me.
  13. Whiskey, That sounds good. I'd like to make some and try it. I don't know if I brought any of that slaw over to Jason's house or not. I don't remember. I may share that Nasty rib recipe with ya'll ( you remember the ones that all the meat fell off the bones). I may cut loose with that tomorrow. I know this is a "Venison Recipe" thread, but I have so many wild game recipes to share. Maybe change the name the "TGO Eatery"..lol
  14. BBQ Slaw: I make this slaw to go with my BBQ Pork or Boar. It also goes well with venison. 4 1/2 to 5 cups of finely chopped or shredded cabbage (about half a head). 1 Cup of White Vinegar 1 Cup of Sugar 1 teaspoon Celery Seed 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Place Shredded Cabbage in a large bowl, and add all ingredients. Mix well. Cover and place in refridgerator a few hours or overnight before serving. Serve as a side dish, or as a topping for "pulled pork" sandwiches. If used as a sandwich topping, add your BBQ sauce and you're good to go!
  15. Venison Breakfast Sausage For a 5 pound batch; 4 pounds Venison, cubed 1 pound fatty bacon or pork 3 1/2 tsp salt 5 tsp of sage 2 1/2 tsp ginger 1 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper Run venison and bacon through grinder using course plate. Mix ingredients into meat, mixing well. Run mix through fine grinder plate. Package in 1 pound bags and freeze until needed.
  16. Dave's BBQ Sauce: I would like to share two of my favorite BBQ sauces with you all. Either sauce can be used on Chicken, Pork, Venison, Bear and Wild Boar. SWEET SAUCE: 1 Cup of Ketchup 1/4 Cup of water or beer 1/4 Cup of Apple Cider Vinegar 1/4 Cup of Brown Sugar 3 Tablespoons of Olive Oil 2 Tablespoons of Paprika 1 Tablespoon of Chili Powder 2 Cloves of Garlic, Minced 1 Teaspoon of Crushed Red Pepper Heat oil in a sauce pan. Add garlic stir until browned. Add remaining ingredients, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until thickened. Used while cooking or as a "dipping sauce". Dave's Hawg Sauce: 1 Cup Cider Vinegar 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar 1 Teaspoon of Crushed Red Pepper 1 Teaspoon of Ground Red Pepper 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper. Mix well. Use as a basting sauce or serve on BBQ Chicken or "pulled pork".
  17. Tennessee DOES CARE how you kill deer. Why do you think there are so many regs on deer hunting? One the the most BEST and EFFECTIVE ways of killing a deer very quicky, is with the use of Triple 0 Buck and Double 0 buck shot. Drops a deer almost instantly. Why can't we use it here? Rules.....would be my guess!
  18. Arrows kill by hemorage, bullets kill by shock.....And a "True Bubba" jumps on the deer's back and stabs it to death. Which is also a type of hemorage.
  19. Cool pictures!
  20. Whatever happens in your ground blind is ya'lls business. But I think we can all benifit in some kind of way.
  21. I'll be firing off a batch in the next week or two, and will take some pictures of it for you.
  22. Count me in.
  23. Good deal! Next time, try soaking them in "red wine, vinegarette" salad dressing. AWESOME stuff!
  24. I would like to propose to the Grand Poo'ba TGO David, and the Great Potentates ( Bronkers, Hunting 101 and Memphis Mason) that we start a "Swap" thread or "sticky" where we can advertise a hunting or fishing swap or just to list things we are willing to "give away" to our fellow TGO members. Adamoxtwo was up standing in giving away some deer meat to a member in need of venison (Mr.Digital) and that speaks volumes for Adam. Poll the members for some ideas, but how I think it could work are many. Here are a few Ideas... 1. Lets say I need some Coyotes Killed off my property. I know Hunting 101 breathes to hunt Coyote. So I post on this thread, I need help with coyotes. Hunting 101 says, "Dave, I'll do it for you". So Hunting 101 is in the hunt. Now, sometime down the road, 101 wants say for example,I need someone to take Crappie fishing with me. And he invites me, or we trade out. 2. Lets say I have some roof shingles damaged from a storm. Another memeber knows how to repair shingles and he is in need of a deer mount. See how this could work for All of us? 3. I know hunters out in east tennessee whom want to deer hunt out here. I want to go out there, and bear hunt! Nice trade off. 4. How about a place we can "give away" hunting equipment, extra fish, extra game? In todays economy, the more we can all do to help each other in the TGO family, the better off we will be. The better off this community will be! I think everyone on TGO has something to offer another member if we can just bring it all together. Adamoxtwo has been after me for quite sometime now to teach him how to mount a deer. Well, because he kept his word to Mr. Digital on a promise he made to give Mr. Digital some deer meat, I, am going to teach Adamoxtwo, how to mount deer, and if I have the items on hand, will provide him with the materials and time to do so. See how we can all help each other? Flame away, but all ideas will be welcomed. How' a' bout it Mr. TGO?
