I inform them as I have nothing to hide. If popo ask me to get out of my vehicle, and finds a weapon on me or within....I don't want no surprises! The officer WILL react to me being armed if he does not know my intentions with a possible bad attitude and/or body language. Why create aditional problems and headaches for ourselves if we don't have to? I want to go home at the end of the day, just like everyone else. Just remember....that officer doesn't know what kind of day we are having, doesn't know if you're wanted or not, and doesn't know what our intentions are....why cause him more stress than needed? Exactly what I'm thinking it was used for. My grand daddy had one he used with a mule. I was too little to remember. My mom doesn't remember the difference between any of them. Wish I could be of more help. I have a couple places I can go check. See what I can come up with. Dave S

I didn't know Larry still run his forge. I used to get stuff made by Larry quite a lot. That is a nice looking knife. His work of applying brass to some of his items is amazing! Dave S

Touching....I have lost a few too. Some were "lap" dogs, some just took up space on the floor, yet others suffered through cold, rain, snow, heat and every thing you could throw at them while rabbit hunting. And at the end of the day, although tired, beat and bloody, their love and dedication to you is second to none! Lossing a blessed and loving pet is one thing, but when that pet was your hunting partner for 15 years....it's devastating!!! Dave S
