Oh hell.....well now I feel like a true idiot. It was in my car, like I thought, and apparently my brother borrowed my car and stuck my wallet in the garage. Why the garage? I have no clue. And why didn't he tell me? I don't know. But yeah, now I'm totally lucky, and all I had done was cancel my cards, so I've gotta go through the annoyance of waiting for new ones using cash in the meantime. Oh well, it sure could've been worse.

So saturday night i was bowling and somewhere between paying for the games on my way out, and driving in my car toward home, i found my wallet missing. Now, the only explanation is that I left it at the counter or dropped it while putting it back in my pocket - they don't just fall out of jeans that keep 'em tight. ARRGGHHH!! I checked my car, checked with the bowling alley, even checked with a friend whose car I was in earlier that night, even though it couldn't be there. No dice. So I put an ad on craigslist offering a reward for it. And - as any of you who've lost wallets know, it's not about the cash, i want the other stuff back. And honestly, I don't want to have to go to the DMV, both banks, then try to replace phone numbers and balance my accounts without receipts that were in there. /rant sorry, it's just that I haven't lost a wallet in years, and it is totally frustrating.

um, not to be an ass, but the term is "commander IN chief". I'd never allow poor grammar/spelling/english to tarnish my own vehicle. Otherwise, cool!

So I detail stripped my Glock 21 the other night, partly out of curiosity and partly because after 1000 rounds i figured it couldn't hurt. It took all of 15 minutes to get it totally apart, without even using the net for reference. It's deceptively simply. I'm amazed how simple the gun is, the most complicated parts are the safeties, and maybe the springs around the cruciform. Nothing like my other guns in complexity. Anyway, I am wondering about the spring cups, if that's even right. I know a G17 has changable spring cups for the striker spring, to waterproof at least. mine seemed to have one piece of plastic where the striker tip comes out and hits the primer, and a long piece at the back which has a groove where the downward facing protruding piece that contacts the cruciform/connectoer moves. I can't figure out how to get the striker apart, and there's obvious gunk (and somehow dirty oil) in the firing pin channel in this plastic piece. If anyone know how to clean this I'd appreciate it. I can post pics if I'm confusing. I'm also wondering, since I gouged a tiny bit of the piece at the back of the slide that houses the striker and extractor spring channels out, how I should smooth that. I know some people want beat up glocks, but I want to keep this as well all my other guns, clean. Should I just use a small light file and smooth it?

Non-permanent Resident Gun Ownership in TN
fizik replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
oh shoot what about nonresident hunting licenses? i'm sure there are canadians and others hunting in the US, they have to have licenses, which (?) could allow them to buy firearms/ -

how'd those mag extensions work? I still haven't even found them for sale for G21 mags.
-
from what I understand, in california the trigger safety is considered external. i'm not 100% about that though. maybe joe or someone will pop in and set it straight.
-
Dave, I don't think Cal compliant means anything more than external safety, 10rd mag, and maybe mag disconnect (not sure on that one) safety. it's also got to be submitted my the manufacturer to the cal DOJ, as RISC said, and drop tested an such for ADs and whatever else they do. No scary other things AFAIK, so I would think the 109203 is the one you want. Have you emailed smith&wesson?

oh, ouch...and i thought an ND through a wall would suck...that takes the cake for NDs. He won't be reproducing though, it seems.

dirtier than higher end ammo in my ak, dunno about the extractor damage. i've got an extra one here if it starts wearing, but after 4-500 rounds i don't see obvious wear on it.
-
Yep for what its worth i've gotten two lowers assembled in a total of 90 minutes, without instructions or anything. with them subtract probably 45 minutes.
-
wait, g21 mags are 13 rounds or 10 in cali. but anyways, sweet. i've always liked the idea of those. range report? educate us on the recoil after you shoot. i'm also curious how well the g21 mag extensions work. and wouldn't it be cool if they made a glock like 75rd drum mag?
-
nah, didn't you know flux capacitors are complicated silver muffler looking things with wires and tubes coming out of them? hardly an orange piece of plastic. it's gotta be a power cell for a phase plasma gun in the 40 watt range.

anvil, i love the xd9s and all the others, especially the xdm. i'm with you, and ohshoot, i can't wait to shoot one. ireally want to pick up an xdm from the reloader's bench, but wanna wait til i shoot one first.

hey, that's a helluva lot cheaper than a vasectomy:D:D:D I can hear it now, "hey, honey...since we already have a kid, how about buying a bunch of ammo instead of paying for a vasectomy? hell, we might even be able to get insurance to cover it.":p edit: wow, click a link to similar threads and i end up bringing one back from the dead without realizing it....

whether it's legal or not, who's to challenge it? they've all got deeper pockets than any of us who would question it. this whole situation, as fury said, the unforeseen and unintended consequence of crappy economic initiatives under clinton, carter, and reagan, at least those three if not more. this is a bandaid fix, and someone neeeds to come up with abulletproof solution, if one exists, rather soon.

yeah, i'm the guy that throws something out there without reading first....so i didn't even try to comprehend. i'll trust your comprehension. although it would suck to plan on getting a built upper and get a box of parts....
-
so is a kit like that going to have the upper assembled or in parts? from my understanding that requires more tools and work, i've opted for a complete upper but it might help the guys asking here to know.
