Just found out that this one was built on an RRA stripped lower receiver. Guess I get to start taking it apart to determine which parts were used. Oh well. Looks like a good shooter. I will have to test it out and determine.
-
Now if I could just figure the exact model. Have to go site in the red dot soon. Maybe at the end of May when I head to the country.

Very nice. I can't wait to trick out my RRA that I bought yesterday. I know I need a flash hider. That's the beauty of these things. You can start with one thing and end up with something completely different.

16" barrel. This one was used so I am unsure of the exact model. The barrel reads c 1/7 5.56 NATO. I am thinking this means Chrome barrel. Any way to get the exact model?

Thanks - can't wait to take her out for a spin but that will be on Memorial Day weekend I think.

Wish I could have been there and had the folks at Classic not been so dang accomodating getting me hooked up with my Rock River I would have gone to RUSA. Maybe next month.

As promised Rock River Arms L-15 BEC inc Mira Dot 2 mags and a case for what I wanted to spend. Thanks Classic Arms.

Thanks to the fine folks at Classic Arms I am now the proud owner of a Rock River Arms AR-15. Pics forthcoming.

Yup that is a bit far to go. I have to get it today or she may not be so agreeable in the near future.

I have about $1000 to spend on an AR. I am going shopping today at Classic Arms this afternoon. What should I be looking for? I know I want 5.56 since it can also fire the .223 instead of the other way around. Give me specs otherwise. Looking for something to use for varmint hunting and just as a good carbine for maybe getting into 3 gun. I am not terribly interested in sights etc. Brand, length etc. would be appreciated.
-
I will not be able to attend today. But it's for a good reason. I have to take my SIL shopping for an AR and I get to get one too!!!!!! I will be posting another topic elsewhere for advice.

It is sitting on top of my entertainment system awaiting time where I can sit down and enjoy it. The first non-childrens' blue ray we purchased. P.S. Toy story looks pretty in Blue Ray.

I don't really care either way. The Saints finally won a Super Bowl. I can die a happy man. Actually I can die a happy man for many other reasons but I did drink a toast to my dad that night.

Notice to would be robbers - Don't go to this house!!!

Since golf originated in Scotland around the 12th century it would have been much better being a Scotsman. And the drink of course would have to be (in my humble opinion) Aberlour.

Personally - if I see the sign I will probably just turn around and leave regardless of what it reads exactly unless it is simply the circle slash sign as that has no weight.

Amazing - and wonderful.

EXTREMELY disappointing encounter with someone with a badge

I will actually agree with you on that. Too many people are willing to stand by while someone else presents bad behavior. In this scenario while walking away and letting "cooler heads prevail" may have saved a lot of hassle if this person were truly an officer of the law he should have been confronted to get his badge number etc. and then report it to supervisor. If this was an officer/fireman/detective/security guard etc. then they definitely need to be called out for their actions. Simply asking for a badge number may have "frightened" them into "better" behavior and they might think twice about it in the future. Then again - to play devil's advocate. In today's society the slightest confrontation can result in severe bodily harm or death. In this scenario there was only the win of walking away and having a nice night. -

Yes - it is a parking space - however if you were in a vehicle and struck me while I was standing in a parking space it is more likely that you would receive a ticket then me. After all, a parking lot is a place where pedestrians have a right to be also. Handicapped - are you really going there? There is a difference between a reserved spot for someone who has a physical condition that precludes them from walking a long distance. There is a law regarding that. Who is claiming entitlement? You are not entitled to a parking space. If I own a business I could charge for parking out in front as long as I owned the property. No entitlement there is there? You do not have a RIGHT to park your car. You have permission from the state to drive it and the owner of the business has provided places for you to park it should you wish to do business with them. This does not mean that you are entitled to any parking space you choose. -

So I get somewhere first and am waiting on a friend I cannot save a parking space for them. Just because you are in a vehicle you are entitled to the space I am in. Personally if I HAD decided to stand in a parking space to "save" it for a friend I would have probably just stood there after seeing the badge and made the person either hit me with their vehicle or get out and confront me personally. At which time I would have asked to see the badge again. If it truly were a police officer the name and the number would have been recorded. What makes you "entitled" to a parking space just because you are in a car? -

I reckon that in this day and age a girl can't be too safe on a "first date I might add". Also, it might be that they were meeting after work in which case one would be in their own vehicle. As to the case in point. While we cannot be sure that the original person was or was not an officer he definitely presented himself as someone in authority. All too often when people like this actually are in a position of "authority" they abuse that "authority". You handled yourself well and the idiot, for that is what the person is, got a parking spot and you have a great story to tell your kids about how you met their mother. -
My advice would be to call the Sheriff's department or city PD and let them know what happened. Inform them that the animal is suffering and that you are a valid Carry Permit holder and have the means to end the poor animal's suffering and what you should do. If you have the option to record the conversation on your phone do that too. If you have the game warden/county animal control in your phone - note to self to look it up and put it in my contacts - call them too and ask them. I hate seeing an animal suffer but if it comes down to the animal suffering or me losing my permit/firearm/freedom over dispatching a dying animal, the animal will suffer.

Investing in soon-to-be-precious metals?

Just remember - the government is going to stop making Nickels with Nickel in them so you might want to start saving those too. As for bartering ammo for stuff - I would only do it in an absolute necessary situation. I would not do it with anyone I don't know. I think I would be okay in a SHTF situation. -
I thought all of the punks, goths etc weren't able to be seen out in the day light?
