I totally hate Imminent Domain that the government uses to take private citizens land. Oh, wait, they will give you "fair market value" for your land.

Hey, I've seen a Beretta Luger. My Beretta uses 9mm Luger bullets. That makes them Beretta Luger's. Gosh, don't you know anything?

I bet that sure limits what they can do on Saturday's with training classes. Too bad Shelby County Park won't open the range to them for training class range time.

My guess would be that a Restaurant has a 1 in 10 chance of surviving the first year any way. If you couple that with the fact that they are inside of a range and most people wouldn't just come to eat I would imagine that they don't make enough to cover costs. It is sad, but I would imagine that there are very few ranges that have full restaurants in them. I never actually ate at one though I did have a soda or two from time to time when I would go. It is sad that they can't keep it open but I am not surprised.

Virginia Drops Reciprocity With Tennessee
saintsfanbrian replied to G27's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Wow, government bureaucracy that actually moved quickly in Tennessee? I can't believe it. -
I use purple loc-tite. I mix red and blue so it's more permanent but not really permanent. For grins I sometimes mix in the green and get a nice brown.

Okay, last time I checked you could dial 911 from a phone that has NO SERVICE and still get connected to a dispatcher from either a land line or a cell phone. So that dog won't hunt. As for less than privileged people being able to get state subsidized cell phones - No sir- we have better things to do with our state taxes. Thank you and have a nice day.

Go the Hooter's in Southaven or Downtown Memphis and you can find some. Then again there was always the dancers at Dejavu. They advertised hundreds of pretty girls and one ugly one. I guess I always went when only the ugly one was working.

I won't see it in the theater but I will probably buy it.

I think I am going to buy which ever one I can get in first.

Gallatin Police Department Sitting on $1500 1911
saintsfanbrian replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I was not talking about using a firearm for defense simply you reach up in Wal-Mart to get something and your cover garment comes a little short in covering. Gramma gets hysterical and tells the manager who calls the cops or just calls the cops her self with her jitterbug. Next thing you know you are up against a wall redneck mother and things go from bad to worse. I can see both sides of the coin on showing when stopped for traffic incident I haven't decided 100% what I will do. I wondered why the officer just didn't ask him to unload it and put it in the trunk until I realized that he was charged with intent to go armed the officer could probaly not "legally" return the firearm to him. -
For the umpteenbillionth time. THERE IS NO MAGIC BULLET. Ask James Brady and President Reagan about being shot with a .22. The reason many mobsters used it was because you could get some one dead really quickly with a shot behind the ear with a small .22 and most people wouldn't even notice the sound. There have been people shot with a .40 that have kept coming. As has been stated before. Hitting critical areas of the body is the key to ending a gun fight. In the home a shotgun is preferred because of the ability to "spray and pray" but I still think that a handgun with nice hollow points is better since I have small kids running around that might get hit in the spray pattern of a shotgun blast.

Gallatin Police Department Sitting on $1500 1911
saintsfanbrian replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Suppose he didn't hand over the permit and for some reason later on he was out and had an incident where he had to use the gun. It could have been a lot worse. While it sucks that the firearm was confiscated and it sucks that he had to take a lot of time going to court et al to get this cleared up. Would you rather find out in an innocuous situation where everyone involved was quite amicable or when you happened to be "made" at Wal-Mart and Officer Unfriendly is being sent out to a "man with a gun" complaint? -
Okay - for all the blonde women out there: A blond guy and a brunette girl were happily married and about to have a baby. One day, the wife started having contractions, so the husband rushed her to the hospital. He held her hand as she went through a trying birth. In the end, there were two little baby boys. The blond guy turned to his wife and angrily said, "All right, who's the other father!?!"

I was hoping to find one of these as I am about to purchase one of these fine firearms for pocket carry.

Gallatin Police Department Sitting on $1500 1911

Gotta agree with the fact that he should get his firearm back but this might be a case where taking the original receipt (yes I keep them in a safe place) to the police station might help clear up the stolen issue. Then again I would also imagine that it was test fired to see if it had been used in any crimes. -
That 1911 sure looks more like a 92 to me.

One store in town has that policy, Joe. As long as it is in your holster it can be loaded. Another store doesn't really have that policy since they are also a range. I didn't check the policy at the other store.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL custom 1911 (pics inside)
saintsfanbrian replied to TGO David's topic in Handguns
Look all you want, you won't find better custom one off work. -
Problem is that these things are no longer taught at home OR in school. The NEA wants your kids stupid so they will keep funding them. The government wants our kids stupid so they will keep funding them. The world wants our kids stupid so we will keep funding them. Are you detecting a trend here?

What I did was just to remove the wheel and the drum and adjust the brakes until the drum would just barely go on. I then backed it off a couple of turns. Put the wheel back on the car and rolled it forwards and backwards a few times to ensure it wasn't dragging. I then drove around the neighborhood a few times going forward and backwards and braking hard in both directions. This seemed to take care of the issue for me.

Hey, replacing the brakes pads and springs on the Jeep Cherokee was nothing (once I looked at the book and threw away the break hold down spring tool).
-
Actually, the Haynes book helped me replace the rear brakes on her car - seriously I have never worked on a car other than changing oil and air filters. As to how long it runs - it would continue to run just by reconnecting the negative wire on the battery even when the car had been off for a day. So I am guessing it was the relay. I called Auto-Zone and they happened to have one last night so I swapped it out. Thanks for the input and I will keep you posted. Looks like this weekend got a little bit easier as now I just have to go under the car and tighten up a lot of things the mechanic didn't.
