I asked about this. It is because some one could steal your credit card number with a mag strip reader. They then create a blank card and add your number to it. They won't necessarily know the last 4 of your card so if they can't enter it they can't complete the sale.

You lie and say you are a christian to get the christian vote. You lie and say you are muslim to get the muslim vote. If you are christian it wouldn't matter to you what other people think of your faith. That is something between you and God. On the other hand, if you were muslim and running for a position that has never been held by a non-christian then it would seem lying about your religion would be prudent almost mandatory to rebuke your religion until you ascended in to office. Hey, I have good family that lives in and around NO. When the evacuations happened they headed up here. When it was safe they went back. Who paid for it? We did - the family that is. Granted they all could afford the gas both ways we just paid for the vitles. It was a good old family reunion.

Well, all but 3 of my family members are "bugging out" tonight. The ones that are staying behind are... 1. A State Senator 2. A person that works for Oshner. 3. An engineer with Shell. All three have jobs that require them to be on the ground in that area should a hurricane hit. The rest are traveling at first about an hour and a half north. If it appears to do what it did last time with Katrina they will head out for Memphis. (Not a big improvement from NO but at least there is family here.) As for rebuilding - There are a lot of people that "buy in" to the way of life down there. IT is definitely something that you don't find every where and I think it is a great place to visit but I sure wouldn't want to live there. Keep em in your prayers though. The majority of people I have met down there are good people.

Agreed Being gay is not a sin - it doesn't mention any where in the bible that the simple acknowledgment of homosexual thought is a crime against God. The action may be, but simply being gay is not. As for Marriage - I don't like using the same word for it as a "christian" marriage but that is my opinion. If the two people involved are bound by the EXACT SAME LAWS as I am and are awarded the same benefits I don't care. The true test of gay marriage will be when the first gay divorce happens. As for Halmark - there is a nice conservatively owned Hallmark about 1 mile from my office. I have met the owner - we agree on many topics. I will continue to support her.

Now, if a legal carry permit holder were walking by and saw this and was able to intervene I would say - Good on ya! You protected an "innocent person" but then again, if I didn't witness the entire proceeding it would be a bit difficult. This is the scenario where I can say I can only defend myself and my family.

A gun would have been bad in this situation for the reasons mentioned. Neither were old enough to legally carry. Also, it's just a parking place people. Get over it. Find another place to park and go on with your life. Now, one person is going to have scars and fears the other is going to have a criminal record. Hope they weren't going for a degree that a future job would require a back ground check. Guns on campus - good. Idiots on campus - Bad.
