  1. Didn't you see Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988). Those were some Bad @$$ clowns.
  2. But if you have a permit and a Law Enforcement Officer demands it you MUST show it is all I was saying. Just because you are not performing an unlawful activity doesn't negate the section of the law that states that you SHALL present it upon demand from a law enforcement officer who is doing his job.
  3. I am just curious - Is it impossible to go in to a place that serves alcohol and not purchase a beverage? I have plenty of alcohol in my house that doesn't get consumed if I am carrying. I have been in plenty of places before it was legal to carry but alcohol was served and I did not order an alcoholic beverage. So to say we shouldn't be allowed to carry there just because they serve alcohol is ignorant at best. That is the same argument that anti-gunners have used for years and in truth it doesn't hold water. If you don't want to carry there, it's fine. Don't. But I digress, I don't like buffalo wings so I won't go to any of them.
  4. I believe you are incorrect here. Per the TN code: This law does not state whether you are on private or public property. Only that on demand of a law enforcement officer you shall display the permit.
  5. Actually, as an HCP holder you ARE required to show it regardless of where you are or if you are carrying it or not if a Law Enforcement Officer asks for it. That's in the law. so is this So even if you are inside your home, the officer can disarm you.
  6. This from the guy that runs cross country.
  7. So Admin - Can we get this stickied some where or a new weekly update? And we are agreed that we start on Sept 1? (unless you just want a jump start) Official Weigh in and posting of pictures statistics etc?
  8. Anyone in the Memphis area members at the Nuber Y?
  9. Sure I am up for it. No pictures though - I can't take it. Suffice it to say I am starting at 220 lb at 6' tall. 38 - 40 " waist. Let's see where we are in 12 weeks.
  10. I would ask the attorney for the relevance if my attorney didn't object on the first hand. Otherwise I would plead the fifth.
  11. I would say the marines and police officers do this almost all the time but you did say reasonable and I don't count Marines in this light. Seriously - there has to be something severely wrong with you if you are willing to leave the safe confines of your home and go after someone with a gun that is shooting at you. As an aside - I have nothing but respect for all of our armed forces and police officers that deserve it.
  12. I must be obsessive compulsive but I check several times before I pull away from the house that I have my wallet on me regardless of whether I happen to be carrying or not. I use a "Money Clip" that has a place for credit cards and identification and keep it in my front pocket. It would have to depend on the police officer and the reason you were stopped. Likely you wouldn't have your drivers license on you either so they could make you leave your car and walk home or give you a ride down town if they were so inclined.
  13. Macaroni on Poplar at Kirby in Memphis is NOT posted though $2 for a soda and my wife purchased a Michelob Ultra for $4.99 was a bit ridiculous in my opinion.
  14. He got what he deserved - what would you or I have gotten for a gun in New York?
  15. Or find another trucker that is heading that way and offer to split the driving time with them in return for the ride. You could always hitch hike.
  16. Pay a friend to drive you. Make it worth their while and you can both be better off for it. What about the train?
  17. I am all for property owners rights to post no guns. I have said from the get go that this is how it should be. Remove the "restrictions" on where you cannot carry legally and leave it up to the owners of the restaurant. Owners are mad because the state is making them post their preferences. They used to be able to get by with the fact that the state said no. Now they can't.
  18. The Belmont on Poplar Pike does not appear to be posted. The only sign I saw on the door was a no-smoking sign. The one on Poplar at Mendenhall has the circle slash sign.
  19. We eat Chik-Fil-A at least once a week. I wish more places were like them. I noticed Back Yard Burger is following suit as far as the My Pleasure.
  20. Awesome!!!! Is this in new construction or a remodel? Either way, I would be putting all kinds of security sensors on that thing.
  21. Yes, the person ran away breaking off any threat you have. By running after and confronting them you are initiating a new threat. I am not a lawyer but I would imagine that a jury would probably find you guilty of battery at the least and manslaughter at the worse depending on what happens. I don't know about you but I am not Dante Stallworth. I cannot afford to pay off a persons family to prevent myself from being incarcerated for more than 28 days. A threat to a person that might be inflicted with serious bodily harm who could if they had a weapon of their own be justified in taking a life you are justified if you do it for them. My child - and we are going to fight - my dog or my stereo - I am making a good witness for the police and contacting my home owners. Sorry - possessions are not worth going to jail over. P.S. You raise an aluminum bat to me and I am in fear of serious bodily harm or death. Enough said.
  22. You are kidding right? A kidnapping vs. taking my TV? I am not going to shoot you over a TV. If you take my child there is nothing that will stop me from chasing you down and getting my kid back. Take that however you intend it. As for if you are taking my guns? If you are running away you are not a threat to me. If you are taking my dog-well she is 13 years old incontinent and eats really expensive food. I hope you can afford it.
  23. Also to add, if you chase down a person that is fleeing whether he has your stereo or not you are not you are the one instituting the aggression. Hitting him over the head or on the back with a baseball bat could be met with you getting legally shot and killed by him whether he is legally carrying a gun or not. Remember - you escalated the aggression. A baseball bat is a lethal weapon. Several people have been killed by them. Once a person steps OUTSIDE of my house, the threat is over. I have no more right to fire upon them. You use a firearm to stop a threat. Once the threat is over you stop using the firearm. My 2 cents worth. And I don't care what Merriam Webster Dictionary says- irregardless is not a word. They also claim that AIN'T is a word.
  24. Our founding fathers had suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and cast them aside. Our founding fathers knew enough to know that they didn't know everything but that above all else it is the free people of a country that will keep the country free. We have given up our freedoms too many times that our government now thinks they have a right just to take them.
  25. Let's see - What was it the George Orwell was talking about in 1984? New Speak? Dictionaries getting smaller. Group Think Two Minutes of Hate? So I guess that is so fast?
