  1. I don't think you stirred up anything. To answer your question there is no definitive answer to whether or not you should intervene if you see some one being attacked. It is up to you and your morals/code of conduct whether or not you want to risk jail to "save" some other person.

My family comes first, then me, then the rest of the public at large. I am not paid to "protect and serve" and don't want to risk going to jail over what may or may not be considered a "good shoot".

I also don't typically find myself in places where I would need to defend another person but that's because I don't get out much.

  2. If I am not mistaken when you pawn an item you sign a piece of paper stating that if you do not pay the fees or repay the loan by X date then you forfeit the property. This in turn would give the pawn shop owner every right to sell the item to some one else to recoup their investment.

Now, does this mean that the rightful owner cannot say that they had the item stolen? Not in the least, however if the pawn shop owner has the proper records (which they should) then it should be easy enough to prove. Also, pawn shops can get in trouble and even shut down for accepting stolen goods so if he knew it was stolen when he took it in there will be repercussions for him.

Contact the police department the detective is supposed to be with and see if they actually exist. Check to see if the item is stolen through them too if possible.

  3. It's like dating twins - sure they may look alike but they both have their own identities.

Sure. I walk down the street and I see a woman holding a gun on a guy. I shoot the woman because I see that there is imminent threat of serious bodily harm or death to the guy. Turns out the woman happens to be a police officer and the guy she is pointing the gun at just robbed and murdered someone. Who is going to jail now?

I walk down the street and I see a woman holding a gun on a guy. I shoot the woman because I see that there is imminent threat of serious bodily harm or death to the guy. Turns out the guy had cheated on this woman and she was about to exact her revenge. Who is going to jail now?

See how the scenario is the same as far as I an innocent bystander can tell?

One scenario I end up the "hero" the other I end up in jail. Likely in both I will end up in front of a judge.

Even a liar (lawyer ;) ) will not give you a straight answer.

Remember - you have a defense to homicide. You are still "breaking the law" it is just that your reason is justifiable therefor you will not go to jail.

  4. When a person who otherwise would be able to use deadly force to stop a threat you can use deadly force to stop a threat for them.

Example, enraged girlfriend is taking a baseball bat to boyfriend. Justifiable because the possibility of serious bodily harm or death is imminent.

Enraged boyfriend is holding girlfriend by the arm - not justifiable because there is not an imminent threat of serious bodily harm or death. If boyfriend starts punching and you cannot stop him then there is a possibility that it would be justifiable.

Remember - you are looking at a "charge" of justifiable homicide". Not that it is legal for you to use deadly force only that it is a reasonable defense to a charge that could be brought.

As for "selling" alcohol - the answer is that if the establishment sells alcohol for ON SITE consumption you would be breaking the law to enter with a firearm.

If the establishment sells alcohol for consumption elsewhere you would not be breaking the law unless they have a legally posted sign by the front door. Many liquor stores do not have a legal sign as they want your dollars and for the soccer mom's to feel better.

I am not a lawyer but these were the answers told to very similar questions in my HCP class taught by reputable law enforcement officers and covering exactly what the state requires.

  5. I didn't like seeing Tebow cry at the end. After all I don't cry when a SQL Query doesn't go the way I want it to. It's your job.

While it is emotional and it proves they play with heart save it for the locker room or something.

    I will say it again.

The SEC Championship was preordained to have Alabama win just as it was preordained that Obama would preempt the showing of A Charlie Brown Christmas because the true meaning of Christmas is "revealed".

  6. Yes, the commercials are killing me. One thing that originally drew me to this show was that it had only a few commercials. Now it seems that they are every 15 minutes. I understand that as the show gains popularity it is going to increase in commercials but dang.

I did like the AVATAR preview. It looks pretty.

    So Jax is staying?

I bet Tig is in on the Zobelle.

  7. Wait, I am not allowed to put a sticker on MY PERSONAL PROPERTY or else I could be evicted?

I can fully understand you are not allowed to fly a flag from your balcony, the railing, the walls of your apartment, etc. but my personal property is just that and unless the supreme court states that it is illegal some apartment complex cannot make me stop.

I would like to see the LEASE that these people signed. If there is mention in there about not flying flags on their vehicles or hanging them from their windows then these people knew what they were getting in to and should take them down or move. If there is nothing in the lease about personal vehicles and flags/stickers of flags etc. then there is jack squat the apartment complex can do about it and an eviction would be taken to court and thrown out as wrongful.

but I am not a lawyer.
