I am considering trying an IDPA competition in the future. We have them once monthly here in town and I would like to see if I would enjoy it. I have read some of the rules and would like to find out some of what I could expect,(number of targets during a shoot, distance, I'm sure that there are one hand only and weak hand only portions.) I don't expect to be competitve right away, but I think it would be a more interesting type of target practice. Also, what type of entry fees can I expect. This is in Oak Ridge at ORSA.

Ditto, I have a few shirts that will work for OWB. All my short sleeve shirts will cover my IWB. Bought up a bunch of jeans at the flea mkt over the summer with enough room for my IWB.

All material on the test is covered in the video. Except for the laws which have changed since the video was made. These are covered in the verbal instruction.

The written portioin is a breeze. Many people, including myself have qualified with a snubby. Take whatever firearm you are comfortable with. The place I took my class had a rental guns and offered target .22's at a discount for the students. I called the toll free number for the fingerprinting and did it the same day. When I got to the fingerprinting station they had my info in their computer and I was done quickly.

I buy Blazer at OR WMart frequently. 9mm, I wish they would carry Blazer .38. The 9mm at OR goes quickly, you probably get there between sellout and the next delivery.
