  1. Guess if it was me, I'd try to find hidey hole in trunk of car, or find way to attach to underside of seat so that it can't be seen but is off the floor so probing hand likely doesn't find it. I tell ya, I have a CenterOfMass box w/cable, but I'm pretty sure that if thief wants to risk more than 3 or 4 minutes, like he might in a garage, he'd probably get into it, or certainly take whole box if he has bolt cutters or hacksaw. - OS
  2. Looks really slick! He a local leather worker? Make the belt, too? - OS
  3. I'm surprised there are that few, since TNDOS site says: "Since October 1996, the Department of Safety has issued more than 339,000 handgun carry permits." Well over 100,000 were not renewed? - OS
  4. http://www.georgiapacking.org/ http://handgunlaw.us http://www.nraila.org/GunLaws/ - OS
  5. Just speaking for myself, I decided to consolidate my autos to one caliber, 9mm. Mainly for fewer calibers to keep up with and stock. It didn't hurt that 9mm is also the cheapest above .22, too. And I feel it's also enough oomph for SD. On the other hand, if I'd already owned a .40 that I really liked, might have consolidated all to .40, though. - OS
  6. Well, the butt on my XD Service makes it rather problematic for me to carry, but I'm fairly obsessed with zero printing. So I know the M wouldn't be a carry choice for me. - OS
  7. Just 3 more rounds than other XD 9's. Laos maybe, but not China. - OS
  8. Review I was reading said the stock leaked. Ever tested yours? - OS
  9. Yep, I'd say you are definitely in the lowest risk percentile. I used to live much the same, and am hoping to be back in similar environs before too long. - OS
  10. Yeah, I have two XD 9's, just recently scored the service - love em both. I didn't quite see me needing the extra pizazz of the M, but I'm sure it's a stellar weapon. - OS
  11. Quite a few states bring up a similar bill just about every year. So far, they've all died in committee. I am surprised Kalifornia and a couple of others haven't actually passed it yet, though. - OS
  12. Well, not necessarily the strongest in the way ya might first think of it...and not necessarily those best able to protect themselves and theirs either, at least after a certain point, anyway. If enough social disintegration should occur, you get the biblical "pestilence" stuff too. The "strongest" might turn out to be those who have best natural immune resistence to whatever nasties are most prevalent. The Black Death only killed about half of those infected, but not necessarily the "weakest". On yet another of my cheery notes, here's wishing for the best in '09!! - OS
  13. With current population densities, a depression will probably have about the same fatality rate as civil war, maybe even higher. - OS
  14. Great to have you aboard...what a unique way to get into firearms... - OS
  15. And eventually the seals in a semi-auto will fail, too. Probably just one zombie short. :-) - OS
  16. Well, if you READ the statues, most are misdemeanors, and some are felonies (being on school property and at judicial proceedings). And the penalty for carrying on legally posted property is not actually specified, although the level of fine is, which indicates it is also a misdemeanor. - OS
  17. Mom keeps a First TN savings account in 'nooga. Actually, it's joint with me, but it's really hers, but I can see it online. About 3 months ago there was a $990 withdrawal she didn't make. Could see paper copy online, signature wasn't remotely like hers. Had to be a bank employee, no other explanation. First TN would never say, of course. They were also slow to replace it. - OS
  18. They've had mine since 2000, no worries. Done at least $50K through PP as buyer/seller. - OS
  19. How is a juicer gonna help you lose weight? On diets: if you "go on a diet" you will always fail. Best you can ever do is lose some weight for a while. Your "diet" has to become your WOE (Way Of Eating). - OS
  20. They'll use ANY balance in account first (no choice in that, even if it's only partial payment for the item), then, if you are "verified", with bank account linked, pull the rest from bank account. You can change the option to pull from bank to credit card, assuming you have cc registered there also. It's an option before you complete the transaction. Note, though, that it always defaults to bank account, so you have to choose the cc option each purchase. If you've already done the transaction, you must have just not seen that option, and it tells you where the funds are being taken from in the smaller print. Anyway, you do NOT have to move money from bank account to PayPal account. Matter of fact, this takes several days to do so, and your seller is not paid till then, whereas payment to seller from bank account (or credit card) is instant. - OS
