  1. Okay. I can't find any mention that an injunction has been ordered? You? (had already done Google News and looked at ConcealedCarry before previous post) I'm assuming that thousands of folks nation-wide will be packing in national parks tomorrow. - OS
  2. Well, that's "interesting". However, I'm quite skeptical of the statement, to say the least. - OS
  3. That's a POS. Mine has 37 windows. But has been used for (adult only) hanky panky. - OS
  4. I trust verification from the other participant is forthcoming? - OS
  5. Yep, got mine today...quite nice indeed. Let's see, I need to calculate how many to cover my old '85 full sized GMC van, which needs paint job anyway :-) - OS
  6. (re: Cobra 9mm derringer) Son of a gun...this site does indeed still show the Cobra 9mm. I can't seem to find actual Cobra site, seems to have changed domain names since I bought mine, or something: http://www.cobraderringers.com/category/96-Cobra_Derringer_Pistols.aspx (last ones, on bottom) thanks, - OS
  7. Guys, I'm a piker at the weight thing compared to aBRG2far, and to some of the goals several of you have expressed. But, I packed on a pretty quick 45 extra lbs about 7 years ago when I quit smoking, even though I thought I was being careful about substituting extra food for the cigs. Thought I was being wise by snacking on fruit. Right. I dropped it about as quick as I put it on, mostly low carbing. And I've kept it off, regaining my previously svelte 15-20 lbs lifetime overweight average. I'm far from a low-carb Nazi, but still swing that way, probably average 50 or less daily, very rarely 100 or more. My point is not to necessarily advocate low-carb (although there are beau coup arguments for it, and more and more studies show its effectiveness and long term health benefits) but to make this point: if you think of how you eat as a "diet", you will always fail. You must incorporate whatever eating habits that maintain your desired weight and health not as some kind of temporary thing, but as your normal Way Of Eating. As aBRG2far has suggested, this requires psychological and philosophical changes as much as the physical ones. - OS
  8. Down on the section of Papermill past Hollywood closer to town. Papermill actually runs all the way to Liberty St, folks tend to think of only the Kingston Pike to interstate section. - OS
  9. Only glitch is the above - Ruger still shows the .38 only model onsite, last one on page: http://ruger.com/Firearms/FAProdResults?function=famid&famid=9&variation=Satin%20Stainless&bct=Yes&type=Revolver It has the same MSRP as the .357 models, though, and same weight and dimensions, so not sure why anyone would pick it. Other than that, not bad. I agree that the SP101 occupies a special niche in revolverdom for its size, at least among currently produced offerings. The durability and simple comfort of shooting is just unmatched unless you move up in physical size. I actually enjoy shooting .357 through mine, and of course .38 +p is quite benign. Regular .38 is dang near like shooting .22. Amazing for a gun only that big. Its really too bad that the times seem such that I feel I could need more than 5 rounds to grab, or I'd have the Ruger on hip for EDC instead of semi-auto. Heck, that may not even be a realistic view, what with the often touted "most gunfights are 3 rounds or less" kinda stuff. Then again, that stat may be changing fast, as most of the possible bad situations I perceive these days involve multiple baddies. - OS
  10. That was bound to be me, guys...was mentioning TGO as possible source to sell stuff...y'all shoulda said something... - OS
  11. Bro, it just looked "old". I didn't even pick it up, just looked at a few tags to see what things were going for. I remember it had the Indian model name on the tag, is it Ishapore? I really know hardly anything about old military rifles. I got the impression that anything worth what they were asking was probably already gone, so I dunno if I'd recommend ya running up hear from 'nooga just for that. I've been there maybe 3 times before this, and they never have had many handguns, but usually have 30 or more long guns in the back. Now only 7 or 8. Maybe you could get a feel by talking to them - 865-584-1100 - OS
  12. Heavens...that's pretty impressive, too. I doubt I'd lose 18 pounds if I totally fasted for those 5 weeks! - OS
  13. Great for you! I applaud your rare gumption! - OS
  14. Quit waffling. Do you think it's a good gun, or not? - OS
  15. Wow...if ever there was a reason TO switch to XD, you just described it! - OS
  16. Was by there little while ago...guys are real downbeat about the closing, I didn't inquire as to details...actually I don't who's who there or their ownership status anyway. They don't have hardly anything in the way of guns. Maybe 4 handguns, nothing looked like a deal, one Glock 3x for $600. 7 or 8 old rifles, like an Enfield .303, under 200 bucks. Real deal on a few toy ARs. Not airsoft, just fake ones. Oddly, guy was asking about Khan shotgun onsite here today, I had never even heard of Khan, G&M has 3 of them, all 12 ga. over/under. Still a glass case of knives and gun parts (a few XD .40 9 round mags) handfuls of odds and ends ammo. Some cleaning stuff. Holster wall best stocked still ... Galco and Tagua leather mostly for Glock and HK, few for SW revos, mostly OWB; some best mag carriers. Some varioius plastic tac holsters. I asked about selling any leftover holsters here and/or eBay on commission, feller said pretty sure they'd sell everything left in masse to somebody about first of month. Have fellows name for contact re that if anyone interested. I bought last three boxes of Federal 12 slugs they had, just to "help", buck a slug, not really a deal. - OS
  17. Funny, had never even heard of Kahn... Down at Guns and More looking at their going out of biz stuff -- they have 3 Kahn over and under 12 gauges. Turkish made, I had no idea. - OS
  18. Actually, gonna do a rambling errand walk inna while...will stop by, they aren't but a mile from me, as the crow hobbles. - OS
  19. Me too, but I've wondered how they stayed in biz long as they have, frankly. Like, never any guns to speak of, cept the racks of used rifles/shotties and I think most of them were consignment sales. Nice folks there, though. - OS
  20. You can turn spam filter on/off for Comcast. Can't really tweak it, just yea or nay. - OS
  21. Really? Tell us 'bout that - never even HEARD of a 9mm derringer. What holds the shells in, like a 2 round moon clip or something? Got a pic? thnx, - OS
  22. That IS good! Can I draw my EDC with weak hand? Yes ... eventually. - OS
  23. WTF are you frothing about now? WTF is a "back up patrol"? and who have they shot exactly and when? WTF do you do that you have such input from "many LEOs"?- OS
  24. Cut it working at Arby's in high school, got infected, had to be whacked. - OS
