  1. I guess nobody is gonna pray FOR Obama? For wisdom, insight, maybe even at least a modification of viewpoint on some issues? How about prayers for his safety, so that Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi doesn't become president? - OS
  2. Well, "all men" would include all kinds of men, eh? Estimation of male homosexuality in US is 2-10%. Probably about 5%. So gay alone could swing that stat if equal otherwise. - OS
  3. Well, speaking of "what did it", how about 13% more of ALL women for O than McCain. All else being equal, that was enough to swing it. And O did get slightly more % of ALL men than McCain. So much for that theory of women voting more for security and men for autonomy. - OS
  4. To be fair on that comment, and some others. - America is less than 13% black population - Blacks did not vote in any greater % than in previous elections. - Blacks have always voted about 9:1 for democratic candidate. So in short, O couldn't have won without the black vote, but neither could any other Democrat. - OS
  5. You'll be remarried within a year, two at the outside. - OS
  6. One of the popular holsters made by Comp-Tac.com. (the MTAC is the other most popular model). They have leather backing and kydex shell for the gun. The Crossbreed (crossbreedholsters.com) is similar concept, and also equally popular, if not more so. I like all leather and I and several other members here use dmbullardleather.com (see my avatar) There are MANY fine all leather holster makers; the trick is finding one you like that you can actually GET without a 3-6 month wait or longer. - OS

    tactical shotgun

I didn't do much of anything, really. Flashlight from Sam's and a generic mount from ATI. Had to change the Remington mag/barrel brace to another cheapie, cause stock one got in way. Light fell off after 6 or 8 rounds of 00. (I think I have it socked down better now). Shell holder was 5 bucks. It's really a weenie compared to many you'll see here, but hurls mayhem out about as well as any. - OS

    tactical shotgun

Stock 870 Express Synthetic (6+1), cheap light rig, cheap shell saddle. (cheap sling, not shown) This is as "tactical" as I'm going to get. I'll let the EBS* folks wow you. - OS *Evil Black Shotgun
  9. Wow, it has "a perfect finition", too! So you'd have that going for you... - OS
  10. I carry CS Recon also..serrated, but normal clip point. I've never quite understood the physics of how cutting or piercing is enhanced with tantos. CS no longer has the snob appeal of many knives, but I think they are still a tremendous value, and as lethal as any. And should I lose it, I'm only out fifty bucks or so. - OS
  11. If I foresee physical activity in the heat, I'll switch to Kahr in the pocket instead of XD in the waistband. - OS
  12. AFAIK, adultery has NEVER been a crime in TN, not even in the 1800's. Perhaps you are thinking of bigamy. - OS

    Kel Tec Rifle?

You can. There's a rail you can add to bottom fore end. Available on eBay. Here's some tricked out sub 2000s: http://www.keltecsub2000.com/photos.htm - OS
  14. Yes, adultery grounds are rarely used anymore, but they still are. Someone has to file for divorce, and he has to provide grounds. My first divorce, I filed, had to testify that my wife exhibited "cruel and inhuman treatment". This is before there was an "irreconcilable differences" clause, which was the grounds for my second divorce. Abandonment, felony conviction, etc, there are still a bunch of divorce grounds if both parties don't want the divorce. - OS

    City Squirrels

I'll take em, preferably already skinned. Need at least four, though, to make it worthwhile for pot of squirrel and dumplings. Will also take city rabbits and doves. - OS
  16. I mean, just in general, forget children. Guy doesn't want a divorce at all, wife does. She files on grounds of adultery. Still one of the grounds for divorce, if "irreconcilable differences" is not used, TN's version of "no fault". I have friend whose wife got the divorce on grounds of his infidelity, and she scored some alimony too. - OS
  17. Adultery can matter VERY much in a contested divorce. - OS
  18. To be precise, adultery is NOT a crime, not a misdemeanor or felony. It is one of several grounds for divorce, however, if one wants to use it. - OS

    City Squirrels

You probably mean "wolves"? (bot fly larva) While gross looking, these have no effect on squirrel meat, are not in the least harmful to humans (or generally, even to the squirrel). - OS

    Kel Tec Rifle?

The sub 2000's 9mm or .40 all run off of various pistol model magazines. Whichever model Kel-Tec you buy is locked into that particular mag type. Some pistols will take more than one magazine, though, like Glock 19 taking Glock 17 mags (or is it vice versa?). 9mm : Glock 17, Glock 19, S&W 59, Beretta 92, SIG 226 .40 Cal : Glock 22, S&W 4006, Beretta 96, SIG 226 http://www.kel-tec-cnc.com/sub2000.htm - OS
  21. Wow, thanks. I didn't know any of that. - OS
  22. Well, I just don't get it... I have a couple of bank/debit cards, don't use them much, but have. Before Sam's starting doing Mastercard/Visa, used to use it there, have used at Kroger, etc. In every case, PIN was required. And of course PIN required at ATM (for withdrawal OR deposit), the main place I ever use them. I don't see how you or a merchant could run as a credit card. If you could charge more than you have in your account, then it's not really a debit card. And certainly no way for a thief to use at ATM unless he has also somehow stolen your PIN. - OS
  23. Ummm, well, look ... I don't think antagonizing the beast in his own lair is necessarily the best idea for someone who owns a gun store on his own turf. What I would suggest though, Tom: do you know him? If not, I'd make an effort to get to know him, and see what you can do on a personal level to reinforce gun rights expansion. Invite him to lunch, whatever. That would likely be quite a bit more effective activism than beating the gong over expired legislation. - OS
  24. Maybe, here and there. Tom, I didn't mean to be mean, but it's old hat, really. The point is, this post in one form or another has circulated just about weekly for a year now. There must be 4 or 5 regarding it here on TGO in the last couple months. And on every gun forum I've frequented, ad nauseum. The more pertinent point is that NONE of these, in any state, even got out of committee for a vote. Seems to me we should be more concerned about any CURRENT proposed legislation, especially here in TN. The bills have to be re-introduced to be considered. If they weren't acted on in 08, they don't automatically come back around on the guitar for 09. best, - OS
  25. So how did the the 2008 Legislative session turn out? Sigh... - OS
