  1. Ah, well guess that would splain those, then. Was my understanding that Taurus only has service center here though. Maybe NAFTA is different rules than Europe, or something. - OS
  2. Did he understand the gun had been attacked by fungus? (spalted grips) - OS
  3. My Best guess: that is incomplete or wrong info as to actual brand or trade name that's actually on the gun. - OS
  4. Howcome whyfor can Taurus and Sig and Walther import .380 and sell here but Glock can't cut it on the BATF points system for their .380? - OS
  5. Ah, the impetuosity of youth. - OS
  6. (re: Georgia Arms) They are at some gunshow just about every weekend. Usually at more than one. I think they always keep a priority stock of the most in demand ammo just for their traveling folks. This coming weekend, at FOUR shows, in: TALLAHASSEE (FAIRGROUNDS) FL LAWRENCEVILLE (FAIRGROUNDS) GA HAMPTON (CIVIC CENTER) VA DALTON (TRADE CENTER) GA
  7. Could well be, since the actual maker of S&W knives is not disclosed anywhere that I can find. - OS
  8. And not only that, but: "Obama Suspends Carrying In Nat'l Parks " Guess what - he hasn't. Maybe he'll try to, but he just hasn't yet. - OS
  9. I think it was not allowed because Fish didn't know the guy, so couldn't know about his history. Don't remember if the victim deployed the screwdriver or not. - OS
  10. You are correct as to real world practices. States and cities DO infringe that right. And not all states infringe that right equally: there are a number of states where you CAN "go out with a pistol on your hip without a permit". Though, interestingly, they insist you can't do the same in a concealed manner without a state granted privilege (permit). I, and most constitutionalists, would argue that firearm carry is indeed a constitutionally granted right. Of course I agree that might makes right in real world sense. How a municipality can decree that one can't own a handgun AT ALL is just beyond the pale. - OS
  11. Particularly over the last week, having periodic 10-30 second delays on pages. Sometimes over a minute. Most often at wee hours, but sometimes, like today, during the day also. Comcast cable. I generally have several tabs open, so I always refresh another site just to check, and they always are lickedy split (tech term) while still waiting on TGO page to fire up or refresh. No diff whether router in place or straight from modem. Get consistent .5 MB/second or faster on FTP download from my own webspace (both Network Solutions managed domain and Comcast space), so everything else seems hunky dory (tech term 2). Nobody else? - OS
  12. "keep and bear arms" Are you arguing that amendments to the constitution are not actually part of the constitution, or that "to bear" doesn't mean "to carry" ? - OS
  13. 870, 18.5" cylinder (no) choke barrel, 00 buck. Matter of fact, is there any such thing as a factory 18" barrel with a choke? - OS
  14. Gummit should stay out of guns AND wombs (and lots of other things too). - OS
  15. No. Didn't mean that to be a comment on the American ammo at all, just opining that Independence is of equal quality to WWB and/or BB. - OS
  16. My doctor's office has same. I've thought seriously about just walking in open carrying. - OS
  17. Yeah, I'm guessing it was, as I see it listed in their store for 89.95, though I didn't stay through all the pages. Last couple feedbacks don't look so hot either. Hope you actually score it. - OS
  18. +1 As I suggested in the short "let us pray" thread, I'll pray FOR him, in my way. Like it or not, O is president of OUR country. He fails, we fail. And a special prayer for his physical safety. Numbers two and three in line are worse to contemplate. - OS
  19. That seems impossible, are you sure we're talking about the same knife? I just did Amazon search and didn't see anything less than about $70. Are they still for sale through some hidden deal link or something? I'll buy all they have if they were really 8.95. - OS
  20. Independence is just as good, I just don't see it anywhere for as cheap as WWB or BB. - OS
  21. Indeed they can get worse. As you may know, I'm pretty certain they will, regardless of who's in the Oval Orifice. The light at the end of the tunnel may be an oncoming train. - OS
  22. You're prolly thinking of American ammo. Independence is by Federal. - OS
