  1. So, how did it go? - OS
  2. No prob...always curious about models of a company's guns that I own some of...I've got two different 870's myself, but not a marine. I'm guessing you might be seeing previous model variations they've dropped from production or something. - OS
  3. Edit: Think I found the answer. There are TWO Marine Magnum Models on Remington site: "Marine Magnum" http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model_870/model_870_marine_magnum_specs.asp Mag longer than barrel: And "XCS Marine Magnum": http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model_870/model_870_XCS_marine_magnum_specs.asp And mag looks to be about even with end of barrel: Both have 6+1 capacity, so must just be difference in mag tube construction somehow. - OS
  4. Ya know, I think we've been through this same exchange in the past and I forgot! - OS
  5. That is what I meant, thanks FG... If the OWNER (only) designates you for security. - OS
  6. If it ever gets to where you actually NEED those 5,000+ rounds you've ratholed, FMJ target ammo will suffice, as you'll be needing to make LOTS of holes on multiple targets in widespread SHTF situation as compared to a few well placed ones on a single assailant in the present more civilized context. Or if ammo becomes "legal tender", FMJ will spend fine. At least that's how I look at a couple of reasons for "stockpiling" ammo. or not, dunno ... - OS
  7. Yep, had a large time with Mike.357 and Suntzu. We didn't get arrested or anything, either, always a plus. Garufa only other TGOer there I knew. Mike's XD .45 will be a dependable and ongoing pleasure for him, I'm sure! That's what I'd buy if I wanted to add that caliber myself. And yeah, ammo was scarce and expensive and anything EBR looking seemed to be joke priced. Think it's still: "how much for your hot dogs?" "one million dollars" "Jeez, how many do you expect to sell for THAT price". "One, I hope." New handguns were pretty plentiful, and probably much more so before noon, as we were in the second wave and even then, backtracking to look at a gun or two again, they had been sold while we were there. But new handgun prices, on the models I'm familiar with, were right on par with storefront prices in general, down some 25% since Crazy December. There were many very popular carry models just not there at all, though, like the elusive LCP, didn't see hardly any Kel-Tecs, no XD Sub Compacts. Lots of S&W airweights, though. Lots of folks walking around with stuff, mostly long guns, which I don't generally know enough about to comment on. If I were loaded with dough, a feller with a minty looking stainless 12ga S/S Stoeger coach gun caught my eye though, $300, might have taken somewhat less. And like Mike, I scored! Finally found my NBR* *Naughty Black Rifle Not EVIL, but definitely NAUGHTY. Pix and report once I shoot it some... - OS
  8. .38? Man up and shoot what that gun wants! - OS
  9. Well, that CW is just enough bigger to make a diff in that regard. It's amazing what even a half inch height/length or .2 inch width can make in ability to pocket carry or not. The extra butt length on the CWs is the main kicker. Damn fine guns though, and you CAN hold onto them. - OS
  10. Well, I won't debate whether your Glock or my XD SC is prettier, since we'd both lose. - OS
  11. Yep. Have PM9 and XD 9 Subbie. XD and G26 a no go for pocket (for me). PM9 is, as you mention, just a stellar choice for pocket in 9mm. - OS
  12. My PM9 is 19.4 oz on digital scale. That's loaded with 6+1 124 gr. shells. - OS
  13. Really a classic and timeless revolver, just aces! - OS
  14. Law states: "(2) On the person's own premises or premises under the person's control or who is the employee or agent of the owner of the premises with responsibility for protecting persons or property." If the ownertells you it's part of your job, you can carry there. Note, owner. Not the manager, not the bartender, not the .... - OS
  15. Perusing source, looks like OP put HTML in post, using extra "Table" call... - OS <table> </table>
  16. Like, 100% full tilt boogie NRA approval. Rare for a Dem, I'd venture. - OS
  17. Nah. Just feels good and solid. Outstanding stock grip. A lot of people change it, but it's a GREAT blend of impact absorbing + concealability. .38 through it is like a .22 - OS
  18. There's an option in your User CP under "Edit Options" you have to check: "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default" HTH, - OS
  19. Does your grip actually depend on the inside part of the grip? Meaning, I've got I guess average hand size for a 6'2" guy, but my fingers barely make it all the way around the front strap to the actual flat surface on inside (right handed). So, I have grip tape on outside of butt and on inside thumb niche only. And for just that reason...didn't want the inside of grip to sand my waistline down (even though it could use it). - OS
  20. That's surely valid. That's surely false. Use birdshot if you expect to be attacked by birds.- OS
