  1. Awwwww....shucks, that's sweet. - OS
  2. I think it's safe to say that Kahrs, taken as a whole, have more probs than many other mainstream pistols. There aren't many all metal ones still in their line, so obviously most of those problems will be within the tupperware part of their offerings. The PM series probably accounts for the majority of glitches, just because these little guns are engineered pretty much at the limits of size/weight vs. firepower. And they DO need to stay clean and well lubed for reliability, much more so than say, a Glock or XD. The only glitches I've had with my PM9 in maybe 600 rounds or so are some FTFs on first round when changing mags. This is due to the fact that the top round in MK/PM series mags can jiggle out of alignment, sit too flat, and nose dive into feed ramp. - OS
  3. To be fair, zeitgeist didn't mention pocket carry specifically, but I can't see the high price tag on Kahr of that size unless one COULD pocket carry, is main reason I mentioned it. Certainly, option of pocket carry was only reason I bought my PM9. - OS
  4. Save us the tax bucks to prosecute you - just drive on over to Leavenworth and assume the position, eh? - OS
  5. I like it, Mike! And as long as you stay within a zebra herd, it's perfectly camouflaged! - OS
  6. Well, it's a heckuva little piece, identical to PM9 except for steel frame (I have PM9). The only question is whether you can abide the extra weight. If carrying in a pocket, most folks say no. I won't get into caliber wars. 9mm is my caliber of choice, have 4 weapons that shoot it. - OS
  7. That's what the gun show "rules" are. And the few times I've had something to sell/trade, of course I've checked that piece. But there's no law against concealed carry at gunshows, and they never post anything like TCA legal signage, so I have carried concealed at all the gun shows I've ever been to. - OS
  8. Yep, 60 gals more than nada. I bought one, what the hey... Comes in 20x20x3" box, less than 2 lbs, so it's easy to stash. - OS
  9. Perhaps good sport for some local bow hunters, if you can find them. - OS
  10. The odd thing was that the delay was only on the base url. Moving around inside the site was no delay. It wouldn't be a DNS lookup thing, as each other page also calls for the domain name in locator. And the delay was the same each time, for a period of at least a couple hours. The reason I thought maybe you had added some script is that DefensiveCarry has a similar and consistent delay on their base url also: http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulletin/ It's not as long as the one I experienced here today (only 5-6 seconds), but is noticeably longer than anywhere else on site; and it has been that way ever since I first used it and whatever it does (I've never looked at source, and probably couldn't figure it out anyway), it does each time. - OS
  11. I guess! "Compact tactical" seems rather an oxymoron. Sort of like "limited nuke" I guess. - OS
  12. Learn something everyday...I didn't know they made the .45 compact in 5"... Nifty weapon, enjoy! - OS
  13. Has absolutely nothing to do with carry, though. It's just to OWN a gun. - OS
  14. Well, I'm sure that's a nice holster, anything David "Bullard" makes is nice... I much prefer two point attachment designs like his Dual Carry, though. Have always found any single attachment point, especially one right at the already thickest part of the whole thing to be too thick for me, but YMMV of course. I know the craftsmanship will be outstanding, no doubt about that, as I have 4 of his holsters, 3 Dual Carries and a Bodyguard. best, - OS
  15. 600 rounds of quality HP costs more than I paid new for 6 of my handguns! And 1100 rounds of it ... wow. - OS
  16. Hmm...seems back to normal... I didn't do anything, didn't even ever close browser... I swear, was consistently doing it on homepage only for couple hours... - OS
  17. Suddenly today there is a 15-20 sec delay to get http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/index.php Both initial startup and whenever clicking the base forum link to see all forum categories. Jumping around everywhere else is okay, but that delay is consistent when going back to base URL. I'm used to periodic overall stalls, delays, and timeouts since server change, but this is a new quirk. Just wondered if you had added some new script or something to base URL? - OS
  18. Suggest generic ibuprofen at less than half the price of Motrin or Advil. Same stuff, same dosage. - OS
  19. Btw, Mitch...that is open muzzle design, not closed as you said in thread over at DC. - OS
  20. Naw, totally word of mouth. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=dm+bullard - OS
  21. I assume there is a city garage, or any of several parking lots around there that will accept the validation which they claim to give you? http://www.hamiltontn.gov/courts/Juries/Grand/default.aspx - OS
  22. Yeah, looks rather tough. But not impossible. "You may be excused from duty if you: - have a mental or physical condition that causes that person to be incapable of performing jury - show documentation that such service will constitute an undue or extreme physical or financial hardship" (I was able to show "extreme financial hardship", since I wouldn't be paid at all as contractor.) Incidentally, jurors are selected from "Licensed drivers in Hamilton County" Compensation is $13/day Parking is free after first day (ticket is validated). You can postpone your date to serve (once). If your employer has less than 5 employees, or if you've been employed there less than 6 months, he doesn't have to pay you for time not at work (this would be grounds for "extreme financial hardship".) - OS
  23. See my post.... There's a chance if you go to court office and plead that a 4th stint puts a strain on your employment situation, they might give you a bye. Don't wait till you're supposed to first show up to do it, though. (I can't believe you've never voted - just, wow.) - OS
  24. You don't need luck...just enough caffeine to stay awake during some of the classroom part, especially the VFH.* *Video From Hell - OS
  25. I was called once in my life so far, about 3 years ago. I popped down to the court office right at 8 one morning and explained I couldn't do it, due to being a FedEx contractor, as I wouldn't get paid for duration of the duty, and would also likely lose contract, so they excused me. Would be happy to serve now, though, retired... -OS
