This slipped under my radar, but Springfield now has 13 round mags for the XD 9 subcompact. Same dimensions as the 10 rounders, flush fit. Folks on XDtalk say they are just as reliable. Great news, just ordered two of them. May replace my spare 16 rounder with one, too. Still would have 27 rounds total, but less bulk in pocket for the spare with the Xtension. JFYI, XD 9 subbie owners... I think new guns are still shipping with one 10 and one 16 rounder, though. - OS

Dang, dude...I live in what should be a worse area, on Sutherland...I'm one of the few folks in the complex that isn't on some sort of dole. But in 10 years here, we've only had one hostage standoff and one suicide by cop - and I didn't even know about either one till after the fact, even though I was home during both. Maybe you need to come in TOWARD the older ghettos, sounds safer here. Actually, we've always had a city cop who lives here. - OS

Standard 870 Express is hard to beat. I got one on special at Dicks before xmas for $225 out the door. No "club" price there, that's just the price, for anybody, however high or low. Where they get the "regular" price from is anybody's guess. CTD still has great prices on some stuff, but none on ammo since maybe last Nov. If they have best price on something I want, I buy it. I'm not a "boycotter" or whatever. Some folks won't buy Kahr because of Justin Moon. Moonies, Christians, Jews, atheists, I don 't care, just the product I want for the best price and service gets my biz. - OS

Lotta XD folks have mounted those goofy little plastic holsters in vehicles. 'Bout any plastic/kydex belt or paddle job could be mounted without much trouble. Somebody, Desantis maybe?, makes a seat holster, too, been posted here before. My gat rides comfortably enough where it always is, in IWB. I just took longest trip with it last weekend, over to Pulaski and back, no comfort issues. Guess if I rolled Little Red, my uber weenie S-10 pickumup, it might hurt me on side, but thinking that's not much to worry about in overall scheme of things. - OS
