  1. My boy David Bullard makes several for Sig 239. Bodyguard is nice one if you like it canted behind hip: http://estore.websitepros.com/1565531/Categories.bok?category=Bodyguard+Holster+Guns+S-Z&searchpath=19308509&start=21&total=65 Doesn't show pic of the 239 one, but looks like this. - OS
  2. Well, an eye for staging and composition goes a long way, too. I'm retired from a buncha stuff... Was staff photog and whatnot for UT for 21 years...among other things, shot the coaching films for about 15 of those - when they were really on film! When Majors would say, "don't want to comment till we see the films"...that was moi they were waiting on. I'm actually selling all my personal Nikon (film) stuff on eBay in the next little bit...I've waited a few too many years to do it, though. I've only got a middle of the road digicam these days, don't do much with it cept eBay (and TGO stuff). I was just a long time journeyman photog, never claimed to be artistic at it. - OS
  3. AHA! I noticed the light colored protrusion at bottom of butt in the one pic, but didn't zactly know what to make of it. Well deserved...they really ARE pix worthy of a gun mag cover. Oh "pro photog in one of his incarnations" Shoot
  4. So weird. Sometimes my 9mm SC 10 rounder rattles before putting in gun, generally a slap on the back against other palm stops it - and it never rattles IN the gun. Carrying 10+1 right now, no rattle in gun, no rattle in mag when I pull it out. Same scenario for my 16 rounders for the 9mm SC AND the 9mm service. I just ordered a couple of 13 rounders for the SC, we'll see about those. You know about those, I guess? - OS
  5. Since Wally's seldom has any ammo, I think Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Kmart, etc. should be as good an initiation anymore. - OS
  6. I might be able to be that cool after my first 8 or 10 victorious gunfights. - OS
  7. I see that everyone is convulsed with silence. Mostly for good reason ... no doubt you'll get a 90% negative response for a gizmo like this. Similar to the ClipDraw. I give thumbs down to anything that doesn't safely cover the trigger of a carried weapon, simple as that. - OS
  8. Great review, but I'm trying to figure out first two eye-catching photos. Gimme a hint, what's holding the pistol in place? I don't think you actually painstakingly selected the pistola and added background w/ image editor? - OS
  9. Welcome from another townie... UTK class of '71 here ... made me the rich and famous Oh Shoot you see today. - OS
  10. Sounds great. But since it's only a free blog, and doesn't even have a $10 domain registration, I'm afraid it's solidly ensconced in the "lunatic fringe" genre for the time being at least. Of course "from small acorns great oaks grow". One hopes. - OS
  11. Willing to go anywhere in the state? (your info doesn't show your location) - OS
  12. There are two holes on each side, so allows some adjustment for cant. Top hole in front, bottom hole in back gives max. He already builds at least 15 degrees in. Notice in my avatar pic for the XD - I actually got a set of Kydex clips from Comp-Tac. They have 5 holes, allow some additional tweaking (I cut off excess holes). He has added that extra piece to the line since the last Dual Carry I bought; I'm sure it's to help keep throat open for re-holstering. Even though he uses fairly thin leather, it has to add just a bit of thickness, though. I'd say he'd make it without it if you ask, since I have three without it. Mine are certainly not as quick to re-holster as say, a kydex model, but I don't much care; I'm more concerned with speed of draw rather than speed of re-holster. - OS
  13. Yep, definitely too much gun for ya. Stick to .25 - OS
  14. Oh Shoot

    XD 45 impressions

Yeah, some of my XD 9 service/sc mags rattle some, but then do NOT rattle once they are in the gun. Guess you've tried slapping the back of the mag against your hand after loading? - OS
  15. Yeah, I don't really get it... If you are "off duty", then what's the worry. Who really cares if somebody thinks you are packin? Plus, I wonder if you've been carrying long? Sounds sort of like newbie self-consciousness, but maybe I'm wrong. - OS
  16. http://www.tennessee.gov/safety/handgunmain.htm Call the 615 number. Welcome to TGO! - OS
  17. I do believe there are no real standards set for .40 +p, and didn't really know any was marketed as such? I'd suggest a Danger Will Robinson approach with any you find, especially with dat widdle Kahr. - OS
  18. Well, you'll certainly know the diff when you shoot it. It won't blow the gun out of your hand or anything, but there's a 10-15% oomph differential with all the +p 9mm I've shot compared to range class ammo. So yeah, you ought to shoot enough of it to know what to expect. I found it interesting to stagger +p and regular charge rounds and shoot, just so technique stays same. - OS
  19. Gracious. Good you got the "pro" version. I guess the amateur version wouldn't have worked at all. - OS
  20. Oh yeah, had forgotten about the Job Corps thing, there was at least one highly publicized murder re that and a UT student I remember. Anyway, it's long gone. There's one in Memphis, where it belongs. And one in Bristol, where maybe it doesn't. But actually, the Western/College/University avenue area is of course pretty close to campus, but has actually improved some. - OS
  21. I just switched EDC from Cold Steel Recon 1 (6.3 oz) to CS Voyager (3.4 oz) Both 4 inchers. Took clip off the Voyager, as it sits so nicely beside wallet in weakside back pocket without clip, which puts it a little too high out of pocket for me. Actually, most all of them do when I wear cargo shots with the pocket flaps. I really think some of the Cold Steels are a pretty good value for quality/price. And of course, sharp as all dadgummit. And by the way, on topic, I have several knives sold as 4" blades, and every one measures that from tip to where handle starts, not just the sharpened part, as previously mentioned here. - OS
  22. I'm in. Will set two alarms for 8, crack of dawn for me anymore. Oh yeah, ummm...where is it? - OS
  23. http://www.roningrouptn.com Looks like a buncha liberals - OS
  24. Welcome from another Knoxville captive ... I mean, resident... - OS
