    My New Avatar?

Would be more impressive if you could spell them. - Chief
  2. Nah, not unless you make some kind of public disturbance, and even then the charge probably wouldn't be gun related, assuming you have permit. First, the signs are generally not even close to TCA compliant. Second, except for posted property provision, there are no TCA statutes regarding carrying at a gunshow Third, I don't know if the LEOs at the shows are on dept time or their own. Maybe some of each .. I know some are being hired by the show's promoter, and I guess some are assigned by the PD, as I usually see a police vehicle or two there. At any rate, the LEO presence is to keep the crowd safe, not to fill jail cells. If you have no plan to remove your weapon to sell or trade, or try on holsters or whatnot, leave it concealed and don't worry about it. - OS
  3. If you'll carry that XD in a good IWB, it'll mostly go away. The butt on the service model is only real problem ... consider XD subbie 9. They now have 13 round mags, only giving up 3 shots and much better concealment. - OS
  4. EH? Speak into the ear trumpet, whippersnapper. - OS
  5. The wheelie looks like my H&R model 922 .22, yes? Although yours has the longer barrel, if so. I just put mine in the bag to go shoot tomorrow. - OS
  6. It's a "federal building" I guess, regardless of signage. But I know of no Post Offices that have xray machines, metal detectors, or patdowns. - OS
  7. I know people who carry a concealed and loaded handgun at every gun show they attend. I really do. - OS
  8. There is nothing in the TCA re nursing homes, hospitals, animal clinics, abortion clinics, churches, psychology centers, covens, or Flat Earth Society meetings. The ever nasty possibility of properly posted establishments does exist, however. - OS
  9. Heck yeah ... fast draw guys don't want that muzzle pointed AWAY from the target to begin with! Ain't that why folks wear OWB anyway? - OS
  10. Do any of the Kimbers actually reliably work, right out of the box? - OS
  11. Is that true? I feel guilty selling my granddad's 106 year old shotgun to TGOer, whose uncle is SHOOTING it. - OS
  12. Great way to put it ... Welcome aboard TGO! - OS
  13. Main reason I settled in on the Cold Steel products I use...sharp, take a lickin but keep on tickin, and I'm only out $20-60 depending on knife, should I lose one. And I'm not a collector. - OS
  14. Well, I'd say by now there are a LOT of folks nationwide carrying in National Parks, and probably not many of them even know about this injunction crap, so I dunno where it's all going, or if there's any attempt at communicating the change in the parks, or what...also, right now it's a "temporary" injunction, so maybe it will only last a matter of days till things change again, like some other recent gun-related stuff from the bowels of D.C. as usual, the Fed Gummit: doing badly what need not be done at all. - OS
  15. Okay, okay...guess I was overly short-tempered, I apologize. It's just that all these gun bills have been probably the biggest posting counts on the whole forum for about a month now... Again, mea culpa for being snippy, guys...but seriously, until any of them are finally passed, I'd say the Political Issues forum is best place to keep up with them. - OS
  16. Looks like everything just changed for National Park carry. Injunction. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5irWgvJzXz3UFknRjrJgjierKwnFwD971FQCO0
  17. Good lord, guys...read the politics and news sections once in a while if you want to keep up with gun issues in the legislature. There have been lots of DAILY threads regarding these since the legislature came back into session weeks ago. And these particular bills, just two of many being tossed around, has only just passed the House, which was stated in the thread already. I assume you have at least a vague notion what's required for a bill to become law. - OS
  18. You should read a little on TnGunOwners.com, sometime. Amazing the news available there. - OS
  19. Careful there pilgrim - I program the black helicopters. - OS
  20. I see your point...it could even be somebody like: YOU! "Joined: Feb 2009 (very recent) Where: TN (location not specified) No Classified Ratings (additional non verification)" - OS
  21. Well, it's your holster....and yeah, can be worn cross draw, but the extra slot is mainly to give you option of mostly straight up and down or forward cant on strong side. Bottom slot mostly vertical, top slot gives the forward cant: - OS
  22. See FallGuy's followup... TN law says you have to be 21 to get a TN HCP, that's all. You can already carry in TN under 21 in certain circumstances with no permit at all. - OS
  23. I take the opposite approach ... been pulled over once in 15 years; registration out of date due to mixup in changing plates around, didn't send me a renewal - before HCP. No ticket anyway, of course. - OS
