A call has been needed to speed things up for a good long while now. 9 months ago it generally meant getting it issued in 50-60 days instead of 90 (or more, in violation of TCA). Now it means getting it issued in around 30 days or less. Obviously, their issue/mailing process is well behind the clearance process and a call gets yours moved to top of the stack. Squeaky wheel getting oiled. - OS

Credit cards are wonderful, as long as you never carry a balance over. I put most everything for many years on an ATT Universal Card, you get "rewards", the best value being gift cards to the store of your choice. I generally get Best Buy if needing electronics/puter stuff, or Cabela's if wanting ammo. - OS

I've fly fished since I was a kid, mostly in lakes for bluegill and bass, though I haven't in some time now. Pretty much gave up on trout fishing early on, just never could catch enough fish of any size...mostly felt like I might as well be casting into the back of the hatchery truck. I've also caught some sizable fish in the Keys on fly tackle, mostly tarpon and snook, since they wear themselves halfway or more in the air. You don't need very expensive rod/reel to flyfish in TN lakes....you also don't have to be super skilled, especially for bream. Top water in late spring into mid summer is a blast, especially when you find the 'gills bedding, using small poppers, spiders, and similar. You can also slay 'em with small wet flies/streamers from early spring all the way through fall. - OS

I don't know about "socialistic national heath care", but I'd like some better OhShoot health care. I pay $3,600/year which gives me the right to pay another $5,000/year before insurance kicks in the first dime, plus another $2,500 outta my pocket after that. And I'm not in bad health, or couldn't afford insurance at all. So, I don't much care what you call it, but could use a more affordable plan, eh? And no, I didn't vote for O either - but almost any kind of additional "failure" right now is going to hasten Very Bad Things on a national level. - OS

Well, I'd certainly approach Springfield first, unless you just insist on spending money without even checking. Some pretty amazing customer service stories on XDtalk. Incidentally, XD warranty states that only the "original retail purchaser" is warrantied, but have found no case where subsequent owners have not been served too, so seems to be "for the life of the gun" for all practical purposes. - OS

All due respect for your sentiments (which I agree with) aside, it is nevertheless not a felony to carry without a permit, not even if caught several times. See TCA: 39-17-1307. Unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon. - OS
